Your not on any side,.. Play the game and listen to what's said at the start,.. You were found blacked out in the woods the guy who's runs is a theif who was hiding in the woods and the guy talking to you is a rebel who was caputred,.. To choose sides it's the jarels palace in windhelm for rebel (stormcloak) he'll send you to kill an ice wraith, and talk to the captain in solitude for imperial or else the imperial soilder walking around dawnstar will give you a test of ability
