for people that are having troubles with this glitch i discovered it on accident as my Xbox was very laggy. you need enough time to get down the stairs after killing uldred without seeing the notification that your quest is updated so it will register you have the xp for the kill but uldred isn't killed.
you do know that any level glitching only makes the game harder, right? Enemies level with you. and if you are wearing lower tier armor than your expected level...
There is a better way in the beginning where you need to find the blood vials and the documents only get the blood and return to duncan he will give you the exp reward but I dont think it works if youve gotten a patch.
@neonoafs but theres a better way its at ostargar get the 3 darkspwwn blood cuz u have it on 360 and go to ducun and tell him u have the blood but not the treities and keep telling him that till ur reach level 25

It's hard to tell from looking, but what level were you when you did this boss? I see that you have over 65 full heals (or whatever they're called), so you must have put some time into this boss. I did this whole quest while I was still LVL 8-9.
okay, i have the Litany of Andralla and I'm stuck in the circle tower. I have no clue how to get out. someone please tell me how! i complete the fade dream and all that shit, and im on the first floor where the 3 summoning ritual ring things are that hurt you when you press A on them and the items around them. please help!!!!!!!
@iAmProDuHGee You can skip the summoning ritual if you'd like, or at the very least return after you finish the tower and do it.
If you have the Litany and you're still locked in the tower, you haven't reached the top yet and finished your fight with Uldred. Work your way up the tower until you reach the end of the 4th floor, you'll come across a Paladin locked in a shield and he'll talk to you for a lot longer than you'll want him to. Kill the boss in the next room and loot the body.
When r u able to go to the mages tower? I started a new and im lvl 5 only able to go to lothering when is the tower accessible? with the treaties quest perhaps?

@TheBanned0ne Trust me,its well worth it to go through the fade sequence whether you think its boring and tedious or not. There are many "statues" within the fade that will increase your attributes by a quite large amount. Though certain statues only work in certain forms such as mouse,spirit etc.

@kodiak423 Are you sure? Because I think it was about a month or 2 where I did it, but not sure if it still works now. I'll work on it later today since it's morning and I came back from movies. I'll double check though.
@chemicalownz Find a bow an equip it. You can try going into the wheel with your talents, spells, potions etc and going into "Advanced" then "Change weapon sets". Hopefully that should work for you.
u know u can get inf exp with less work just at the first time u are at the joining get the blood only go back to duncan talk tgo him then u got exp every time u talk with him jsut dont get the other item ^^ ( no fighting need and pretty easy for achivients)
This may get you exp, but if your gear doesn't keep up with your massive leveling, the extra exp doesn't do you anything anyway, as the enemies do scale with you.
The ostagar glitch is much much much easier look it up, you basically just get the 3 vials of blood and no scrolls and go back and keep talking to the dude, much quicker, enjoy :) lvl 25, 2 hours
duuuudeee haha before this when you get trapped in the fade and you have to complete all the areas. Especially the mage one is a bitch as a ranger. When you have like 3 to 4 mages attacking you... you just get demolished. Or am i doing something wrong? please help haha
If u want to have easy xp u can use cheats (i don't know how to do on console version but i can do on pc) but i think it's better to play w/o cheats it's more fun, if u go 25 lvl with cheat when u start the game it gets boring after :/
@Moriim13 Basically u r not weak, it's just the beggining, but u got a point here, in the first blight quest that u will do yes u r a bit weak but u can go on options and change the difficulty lvl :P
imo in this game it's not fun to use cheats like other games like GTA, but if someone wants to use cheats he can i won't and i can't judge anyone.

@EmoPrinny if im not mistaking .. if you are ranged like archer or mage .... you can be afk during this fight since you auto attack and the boss will only attack annyone near him .. just keep auto attacking and you can watch tv , go back in and attack , put everyone at safe distance and watch tv again xD only gotta make sure u got enough HP pots , can you confirm this ?
How do you save the mages in this fight? I've fought him once and unintentionally caused the deaths of the mages and thusly ended up with the templars in my army, which I didn't really want. If anyone knows what I'm supposed to do to save them, please tell me so I don't make the same mistake again.
You have to go into the same menu you used to change forms in the fade, and use a scroll. you have to use it when there's purple rings around the mages.
@Aracknia You have to use the litany of anddro... well, the litany you loot of of Nial's body after escaping the fade with your friends. When you get to the chamber, whichever mage is about to turn will have a glowing white ring around him. You then go into your advanced options and use the litany. You do it eeven once successfully and you will have sided with the mages.
Your wrong, you choose to side with the mages at the begining and at the end, the beginging to kill Wynne, and the end when you say either agree with the Templars and say that the Mages are too dangerous, or say that you are certain the Mages are not corrupted. You can use the litany, because I did, and I still sided with the Templar.
@MoptopCK Actually I'm quite right because even if you tell Cullen that you choose to save the mages, if you don't use the litany to save a mage even once then you will have ultimately sided with the templars.
Trust me, I've played through this game many times. I'm quite familiar any possible outcome.
There will be a huge glowing ring around one of the injured mages on the ground... this means you have to use the litany you found earlier in the tower
And the ring is obvious it should be easy enough to do if you look for it.
I think you only need to save one mage to have them in your army, but saving them also makes the battle easier because there wont be another minion for uldred
Shale is DLC. You'll go to a place called Sulcher's Pass near Redcliffe, talk to the merchant there and he will point you to the village of Honnleath just south of Redcliffe. After going through a dungeon, you'll officially unlock Shale. Obviously, you want to invite it to join you.
ive got a question. please could someone answer! ive got 99 strengh tomes and i want 99 strength. im on 70 strengh right now but ive got all the moves like sword & shield moves, two-handed, archery and so on. whenever i try to get my strengh up more it asks me to level up another move but i got them all which results in me leaving it as i cant move forward. is there some sort of patch that did this?
I found a much quicker way. It's in the beginning when you have to go get 3 vials of darkspawn blood, but you don't get the treaties, you return back to duncan, and 'turn' in the quest, he tells you to go back and get them, but you keep 'turning' it in as many times until you hit max level, that takes like 5 min, waaaaay shorter than this process, way shorter
@llinsane1ll The only thing is, you don't want to get to max level or you won't be able to use specialization points, because you can't level up. UNLESS you use a tome.
i dont find shale to be to to great, i honestly prefer alistair to be my tank, or i make i just have wynne as healer,i use my DW warrior with sten and oghren, poor baddies dont stand a chance (and i know i cant pick locks, but i either use my gold glitch i found or go back and pick everything)

you can get to level 25 at the start of the game..but after relising this then doing a playthrough the game isint worth it...it becomes far to easy at intimidating and fighting..its almost like your the king of the world when people are talking to you...
theres a better one at the grey warden camp..you get an auto level up for handing in the blood vial quest...however..dont go into the woods after it..just keep asking him about it

@jseth03 depending on the difficulty...i've been through this fight alot...but on average it can take from 2 minutes to about 10 at the least....and thats if you have crappy gear...

I had Wynne spam Winters Grasp, Death Hex, and Death Cloud. Binding Prison wasn't working on him. D= Anywho, if you have two Arcane Tomes, I'd clone them for Wynne, cause she is lacking in attack spells. Get her Dispell magic, and all the Hexses.

this isn't really a trick... there is an easier way and more efficiant way that takes about 1 min per 138 experience.... and that is not sucking dick and training u fag.
This game is pretty glitchy... I had to defend the town of redcliff from the walking dead and I played it for 20 frikkin' minutes and nothing happened!

And if you say it's too easy, try playing 3 mages and 1 2-handed tank on Nightmare even with cheats and tell me that it's not hard ;)

End of the mage tower quest, after you complete a first time don't loot uldred's corpse and then just leave and come back and he'll respawn.

@EmoPrinny if im not mistaking .. if you are ranged like archer or mage .... you can be afk during this fight since you auto attack and the boss will only attack annyone near him .. just keep auto attacking and you can watch tv , go back in and attack , put everyone at safe distance and watch tv again xD only gotta make sure u got enough HP pots , can you confirm this ?

How do you save the mages in this fight? I've fought him once and unintentionally caused the deaths of the mages and thusly ended up with the templars in my army, which I didn't really want. If anyone knows what I'm supposed to do to save them, please tell me so I don't make the same mistake again.

You have to go into the same menu you used to change forms in the fade, and use a scroll. you have to use it when there's purple rings around the mages.

@Aracknia You have to use the litany of anddro... well, the litany you loot of of Nial's body after escaping the fade with your friends. When you get to the chamber, whichever mage is about to turn will have a glowing white ring around him. You then go into your advanced options and use the litany. You do it eeven once successfully and you will have sided with the mages.

Your wrong, you choose to side with the mages at the begining and at the end, the beginging to kill Wynne, and the end when you say either agree with the Templars and say that the Mages are too dangerous, or say that you are certain the Mages are not corrupted. You can use the litany, because I did, and I still sided with the Templar.

@MoptopCK Actually I'm quite right because even if you tell Cullen that you choose to save the mages, if you don't use the litany to save a mage even once then you will have ultimately sided with the templars.
Trust me, I've played through this game many times. I'm quite familiar any possible outcome.

There will be a huge glowing ring around one of the injured mages on the ground... this means you have to use the litany you found earlier in the tower
And the ring is obvious it should be easy enough to do if you look for it.
I think you only need to save one mage to have them in your army, but saving them also makes the battle easier because there wont be another minion for uldred

Shale is DLC. You'll go to a place called Sulcher's Pass near Redcliffe, talk to the merchant there and he will point you to the village of Honnleath just south of Redcliffe. After going through a dungeon, you'll officially unlock Shale. Obviously, you want to invite it to join you.

ive got a question. please could someone answer! ive got 99 strengh tomes and i want 99 strength. im on 70 strengh right now but ive got all the moves like sword & shield moves, two-handed, archery and so on. whenever i try to get my strengh up more it asks me to level up another move but i got them all which results in me leaving it as i cant move forward. is there some sort of patch that did this?

I found a much quicker way. It's in the beginning when you have to go get 3 vials of darkspawn blood, but you don't get the treaties, you return back to duncan, and 'turn' in the quest, he tells you to go back and get them, but you keep 'turning' it in as many times until you hit max level, that takes like 5 min, waaaaay shorter than this process, way shorter

@llinsane1ll The only thing is, you don't want to get to max level or you won't be able to use specialization points, because you can't level up. UNLESS you use a tome.

i dont find shale to be to to great, i honestly prefer alistair to be my tank, or i make i just have wynne as healer,i use my DW warrior with sten and oghren, poor baddies dont stand a chance (and i know i cant pick locks, but i either use my gold glitch i found or go back and pick everything)

you can get to level 25 at the start of the game..but after relising this then doing a playthrough the game isint worth it...it becomes far to easy at intimidating and fighting..its almost like your the king of the world when people are talking to you...

@jseth03 depending on the difficulty...i've been through this fight alot...but on average it can take from 2 minutes to about 10 at the least....and thats if you have crappy gear...

I had Wynne spam Winters Grasp, Death Hex, and Death Cloud. Binding Prison wasn't working on him. D= Anywho, if you have two Arcane Tomes, I'd clone them for Wynne, cause she is lacking in attack spells. Get her Dispell magic, and all the Hexses.
