Walked into a great Mexican resteraunte this afternoon to the sound of this tune playing in the background. Fantastic piece took me back in time to this period and reminded me of the rest of the songs on this album. COf course this one stood out. I couldn't wait to see if posted on YOUTUBE. Thanks for memories.
This after Sanata left his jazz thing and decided to come back to his roots, this was during the disco era. I saw santana live in the 70s at the old Academy of Music in NYC

@Aqualung1997 The only time I every saw Santana perform live. I saw this with my whole family on TV. The end of the show was awesome too. They had giant Muppet type animals come on stage and carry the musicians away. We were so tripped out we did not think about video recording it
I saw them do this at a Day on the Green at the Oakland Coliseum July 4, 1977 (Also on the bill: Outlaws, Lynard Skynard ,P. Frampton-Bill Graham did not screw around at these ! ) followed by the great segue into Europa, and I swear the Earth stopped for a few minutes-this was Carlos & Band truly at the top of their game. Awesome, just incredible !
If you are going to use my v blog to teach people morals then you can get on my blocked list. I can choose who to hate you know if you don't like it then fuck off
Why did you not bother to read the comment before yours. The comment by
Mahershallalhashbaz clearly tells you who is singing and playing. And I want what ever your taking. Must be good shit for you to miss the comment right under your nose. LOL
Um, it was two comments asshole. Can you count? Would it really kill you to type oh, I dont know, ten letters? And I want to know what disease you have. Must be tough shit for you to not be able to type ten letters. LOL
Greg Walker sang this song on Amigos. but this is the the Festival band--they've even got the album cover draped hanging in the back. Raul Reko on congas, Chepito Areas on timbales, Tom Coster on keyboards, and Leon Patillo on vocals, This is BETTER than the album version. I used to own one of those Yamaha SG-2000s. The heaviest (and I mean WEIGHT) guitar on the planet!
This was during their Moonflower tour. I saw them that year at the Municipal Auditorium in KCMO. They were so incredibly tight! I think their warm-up band was a bunch of dorky white guys named ... Cheap Trick? Santana held a sustain for like 5 minutes while his band went offstage to take a break. Good times. Seems like concerts were better then. More personal, or something.
I Saw them in Mobile,Al. that year!! Awesome!! I bought the Moonflower Album. That week My Mom Bought me a Yamaha SG 2000. I wanted it because that is what Carlos played!! $500 more then a Les Paul. I still have that guitar!! LOL My son is borrowing it at the moment. We both have PRS Custom 24's now!! LOL
I have seen them play this relatively recently. Can anyone remind me when - my memory is a complete blur? It must have been sometime between 87 and 08 in England. Help me out please. Oh, and I absolutely bloody love this song.
I hear the guitar synthesizer where is it at back in the seven you could get one as a rack system it was delay with equalizer and other components I had one that why know that song used a guitar synthesizer in it. maybe they dont show who is playing it.
Good call bro. 'Never had an equal in Latin based rock', more like barely had an equal in music!!! Think Carlos should give God his hands back. Whole band are truly mustard.
Glad that you agree. I think this was one of their best periods- I saw them in 1978 in London, and having seen a lot of the biggest bands live I would say they were the best live group I ever saw by a long way. Great stuff!
Please do not start a who is the best shit on my channel. There are enough people blocked for starting racial shit. Make your own blog if you want to start fights about race and what ever hang ups you got
lol i get ya. very close in looks, i would have wondered if that was why Carlos hired Graham if it weren't for how awesome Graham is on the drums. Imo the best drummer Santana had along with Shrieve. Graham grew up in Toronto, Cananda (where i live) and i bumped into him several times in music stores during his days with Santana, very nice guy, he gave me his drumsticks once :)
DAMN......!!!! AWESOME STUFF....!!!!!
