@nnr3 about 2-3 car lengths.. from a stand still, my mazda was a head about 5-6 car lengths, but around 200 meters the santa fe was already catching up fast and overtook me on the quartermile. thanks for the comment :)
@REVandEVO That 200HP diesel is a beast for such a small displacement. Is there any noticeable turbo lag? Knowing this makes me somewhat regret my purchase of 2010 2.0 CRV. LOL
@nnr3 there's absolutely no lag, on the downside with so much power and torque, there's a lot of torque steer from a standstill and the smallish tires don't inspire that much traction, and the transmission doesn't seem to cope with so much torque so its better to not step on it all the times, the CRV is still a good compact SUV, it may not be as fast and as economical as the Santa Fe, but has it has better ride comfort and feels more solidly built :)
@REVandEVO Thanks for the compliments man. The CRV has better ride than 2011 Santa Fe? As far as I know the my CRV has a stiffer suspension setup than the Santa Fe.
@nnr3 the CRV might have a stiffer suspension, but it feels more composed and the chassis doesn't feel loose unlike the santa fe, how's the fuel economy of the CRV?
@REVandEVO The fuel economy? It's horrible man! City driving, the lowest I got is 5.6 KM/L, but at highway it does pretty fine as long as you're in fifth gear, I'm averaging about 10-13km/L on highway with speeds about 90 - 140 kph. How bout the santa fe's? Is it on par or better than monterosport?
@nnr3 fuel economy is superb man! city driving is around 8 km/L while highway driving at 100-130 kph can get you easily 13-14 km/L while driving 80-90 kph can get you as high as 16-17 km/L
@REVandEVO How about the overtaking? Like from 100kph to 150kph? Hindi naman hirap? Sorry for too many questions ah, talagang naiinlove lang ako sa Santa Fe. HAHA.
@nnr3 i think since it has a lighter body than the monterosport, the santa fe has better fuel economy. your fuel economy isn't that bad, considering its a gas SUV its still quite economical, other petrol SUV's can barely get past the 10km/l mark.
@REVandEVO Yeah man it's not bad for a petrol powered SUV. I really like the economy and smoothness especially on expressways. But I envy those Santa Fe owners! They got the power and economy! Haha.
@nnr3 100 to 150 kph is child's play man, it can reach 190 kph quite easily, although reaching to 200 kph requires a bit of patience since at 190 kph the santa fe seems to already run out of acceleration power, i've challenged a lot of vehicles in the highway and the only vehicle that seemed to be nipping at santa fe's heels was the Mitsu Strada with the VGT engine, petrol cars stood no chance in terms of highway sprints :)
@REVandEVO Oh? But I have a friend who has a 2011 Strada (I don't know if it's equipped with VGT) and I can beat him by about one car or one and a half car every time we sprint although not up to top speed maybe just some 0-100, 40-140, things like that. Anyways, Merry Christmas man!
@nnr3 that's probably the old 3.2 turbo diesel version of the Strada, the new VGT Strada can get from 0-100 in about less then 9 seconds, the CRV i guess thakes about 10 seconds.. I'm not sure though, do you have the 2.4? or the 2.0 M/T variant? happy holidays man!
@nnr3 how bout the CRV's brakes? are they well modulated? didn't you have any of those hairy moments were you felt you were about to crash into another car?:p LOL
@REVandEVO LOL NO! Haha! I actually find my CRV's brake very good for a non-premium compact SUV. They are excellent! Except when you reach the ABS-activating point the back seem to wiggle a bit LOL but not to the point of having a hairy moment of almost crashing onto somehing. HAHA! Why? You had an experience like that in a CRV? or Santa Fe?
@nnr3 not really but the brakes could use more pedal feel... the only problem is crosswinds on highways, the strong winds can easily push the santa fe out of line,im looking forward to the new ford ranger, it has a 3.2 VGT diesel, has 200 hp and around 470 nm of torque, i wonder how fast it is ;p
@REVandEVO OH didn't expect that... didn't notice any hint of that in my CRV :) Besdies I rarely drive on highways..
Looking forward to it too! But I'm more inclined towards the new Everest hoping that it'll be based on the new Ranger. Hehe BTW, I heard there's a new Santa Fe coming out. Maybe this year or on 2013. What do you say on that? Haha
I believe the octane rating of diesel fuel is only 15-25 RON. The Cetane Number is more important for diesel engines. I think the Cetane Number of Petron Turbo Diesel is 55. And yes, the performance of Petron Turbo Diesel and Shell V-Power Diesel is better than regular diesel here in the Philippines.
@lovelynocy we're you from? i tested my santa fe with Petron turbodiesel (95 RON) its quite more powerful than running with ordinary diesel (93 RON), so that's why it runned a little faster than stock =p
please like my vid =)

my bad =)
but really... this diesel is one heck of a fast diesel... it actually beat my modified mazda 3 2.0L in the quarter mile race
REVandEVO 2 months ago
@REVandEVO Damn, that's pretty fast for a diesel non-premium SUV.
It beat your 2.0 Mazda? By how much? How about acceleration from stand still how does the santa fe compare to your Mazda 2.0?
