  • I wish all their albums were this good.

  • there are no words to describe how amazing this album is

  • Hate the PotH mixes of these songs. No bass, not dirty, no screaming.

    Terrible. And it's sad.

  • @Cr0ssPhyre My friend, maybe if you had listened past 3:34 you would have realised there is screaming. Quite a few times as well... Some people have the attention span of a walnut. ¬_¬

  • @Dan070 Maybe if you had listened to an actually god TFOT song you'd know what real screaming sounds like.

  • Chilling, yet, so tasteful.

  • Not the vinyl version, the cd.

  • Where can I buy this, I NEED it. Please, please, please if anyone is selling a copy because I think they were only sold of the bands website message me about it.

  • @JustinCaparas iTunes, and if you want the CD, just burn it.

  • boris has released an album that's an 80 minute song. so has sleep. :3

  • OH MY SHIT! A TEN MINUTE SONG THAT"S GONNA KILL ME BECAUSE I HAVE NO GOD DAMN FOCUS OR AN ATTENTION SPAN. learn real music before you talk about the length of a song. i dont see you on your band selling records or anything

  • sounds too clean. :/

  • *tags

  • I like how it says sexiness in the tabs

  • 10:55 how can u make a song that long

  • @3286headshot

    Try X Japan's Art of Life - 29:00 min. : D

And Mars Volta's Cassandra Gemini song is 32:32 min.

  • @aznsmiley117 portugal. the mans "its complicated being a wizard" album was one whole song i think it was 37+ mins

  • @ThyBlob Daaaaang! That's a looong album. Not to mention, live :D

  • @aznsmiley117 Dream Theater, Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence is 42:04 min

  • @3286headshot there longer songs out there smart one ha

  • @3286headshot new to music bruh?

  • @3286headshot Most of Opeth's early albums... the songs are ALL ten minutes. lol

    Also BTBAM...

  • overproduced....

  • @namquaster lol... the production in this album is of much less quality than the others. Derp.

  • Lmfao newfags vvv

  • god damn... so epic.

  • does anyone notice how the bass kinda loses beat, at around 2:18, this songs still fucking great!

  • @falloftroy555222 lol def

  • this gives me shivers, i like the Phantom on the Horizon better than Ghost ship coz it has more of TFOF's legendary raw vocals

  • man i cant believe this is their last year touring...... their music literly a mile stone in my life man.

  • This, in my opinion, is the best work TFoT has done. The whole EP is epic. I love the whole storyline thing. It has ruined all my expectations for other music. It sucks they're calling it quits…

  • @cobra1x3 I KNOW I HAVE YET TO FIND A BAND THAT IS REMOTELY AS EPIC AS TFOT... EVERY OTHER BAND THE FAGS ON THE INTERNET TRY TO MAKE ME LISTEN TO SUCKS THOMAS'S LEFT NUT JUST TO MAKE THE RIGHT NUT JEALOUS.. DGD=GAY..CIRCA SURVIVE=GAY..CHIODOS=GAY..TFOT=FUCKEN EPIC DOPENESS

  • @UNDERCOVERBLACKheart try tera melos. its got some of the same tapping guitar style with less vocals. thats the best suggestion i have. tell me what you think.

  • @UNDERCOVERBLACKheart Agreed!

The dillinger escape plan isn't gay ;) start with milk lizard and then farewell mona lisa, 43% burnt, the widower,.... and enjoy!

    I promise they aren't gay!

  • @UNDERCOVERBLACKheart CAPS LOCK ISN'T NECESSARY ALL THE TIME.

  • @MercyMe333 NIETHER IS BEING A QUEER.

  • @UNDERCOVERBLACKheart well I meant no harm by my comment, but I guess you're more sensitive about your typing than I expected.

  • Comment removed

  • i can actually play the intro on the piano

  • they should've kept the bassintro and started with the guitarintro (solo) at 1:30! The singing is much better and they keep on screaming :D, but the backing during the screaming is genius8 one of the best bands ever, hope they come back to belgium soon and GROEZROCK festival SPREAD THE WORD!!!!!

  • they broke up dude..

  • TURN THAT BASS UP. jeez, bass has been turned down ever since Frank joined. I guess it's the same thing that Metallica did.

  • Phantom on the Horizon is better overall than the Ghostship versions, all except part 5

  • amazing

  • ghost ship version is better.

  • i think its cool how they released the Ghostship demos again. IV is prob the best but all of them are BOSS!!!

  • 5/5

  • whats the new album called?

  • In The Unlikey Event, although it's been 3 weeks since you posted that, so you probably already know.

  • It's a good redo of the Ghostship Part 1 but...I like the original better...had all them sounds and tweaks...it's better than this version.

  • dude you have to skip half the song in the beginning but i dont want to because i like that part.....

  • me to i love the beginning.

  • my opinion on this is the gohstship demos were more raw sounding but still amazingly good dont get me wrong 5 of my favorite songs

but poh is more cleaned up and redone making it sound a whole lot new and is still very good to listen to

theres no doubt that both are good its just the diffrent souds they have to them that makes them diffrent

  • I agree Derek

  • I just wish there'd been a leak of Ghostship demos Part II + III

I think that one day they'll wise up and like release it along with a compilation.

  • You know, I see a lot of people on here complaining about how PotH wasn't as good as the original Ghostship...

Now, I've been listening to TFoT since The Ghostship Demos, and I think that Ghostship and PotH are two completely different experiences.

They may be the same basic material, but both are very different from each other.

    Consider that...

  • But how is it different? I think it lost a bit of it's edge of insanity when they developed PotH. I just don't feel it anymore.

I just wish there was a better "original" of Part II. That scream is reminiscent of their original album.

  • This really reminds me of classic Mars Volta.

    REALLY reminds me...

  • yea it does

  • they need more screaming lol

  • this album is such a master piece.

  • i thought it was great. it adds a kind of cinematic effect to it i like it alot

  • When FOT announced they were re-releasing the Ghostship demos, I was so happy and so excited...but I was really disappointed when i heard POTH. It seems to me that most of the energy and spastic rhythm got taken out only to be replaced by sugar coated effects and less screaming. What a total disappointment. I can hardly recognize the original Part 1 in this version; the ending was a disaster. But I think I'm most disappointed in Part 4, which was my favourite, and the new one wrecked it.

    :'(

  • What did you expect?

  • Well, I thought it was gonna be more like "Mouths Like Sidewinder Missles" and "I just Got This Symphony Goin'". Those were really good re-releases, 'cause they didn't lose the essentials. They were still powerful like the originals but they were different in their own ways. This was too much of a change, almost to the point where the songs aren't even the same anymore. They may as well have announced this as a completely new and different album, not a re-make.

  • youre trippin. this song for one is a good remake. sugar coated effects? trippin.

  • dude all they did was make the demos sound better cant complain.

  • sorry i hadnt heard it all yet when i commented.

  • ....

  • This is just fucking awesome......

  • anyone know why they replaced the first bass player

  • He left, for stress related problems i think. he didnt get kicked out or replaced

  • he was going through alot of stress. He didnt get kicked out or replaced.

  • he was really stressed. He didnt get kicked out or replaced.

  • OK im going to settle eveything about Ghostship-Phantom on the Horizon 1. phantom was a remake a remix is like well ill juist give u an example the song souljua boy screamo version 2.phantom was not written because frank joined actually it was made before frank joined it was made like 3 or 4 years ago and was made fo selling since ghostship was never on the market 3. THIS WHOLE FUCKING EP IS JUST TO REMASTER IT!!!

  • ghostship>phantom

    and learn to speak english

  • Pretty much.

  • Why so much bitching about what the difference between a remix and a remake is? *Sigh* I swear 90% of Youtube comments are douchebags like you having petty arguments rather than commenting on the actual video.

  • lol exactly

  • 7:01 What the fuck kind of pedals is he using?

  • space echo pedal.

  • delay. beautiful, beautiful delay. XD

  • Ghostship!

  • Beautiful, just a masterpiece.

  • this has some great improvements but it just seems weak or something compared to the demos :-\ might just be becaus I'm so used to them though.

  • best song i've heard in a while

  • well, ghostship wasnt supposed to be released long ago, some one leaked it onto the internet. If that never happened, we would be listening to this for the 1st time. So, not their fault.

  • Wow this is everything a song should be. Full of emotion and full of layered complexity. And 10 minutes for a song is the length every Fall of Troy song should be.

  • Woah woah woah, watch what u say

Them fighting words wehre i come from

The fall of troy did not simply remix this stuff, they created new from old, this is no simple repavement, this is unvelievable, to see this kind of drastic incredible change in an album especially in the dying rock world is amazing

This album is by far one of the most incredible albums i've ever heard, especially enter the black demon, gives me chills down my spine every time i hear it

  • Regardless of what litlchase said, you still didn't follow up your statement with any form of regression.

Phantom on the Horizon is, in all its entirety, a remix CD.

Complain and counter-comment me with your regurgitated opinions if you like, but it's fact in itself.

Don't get me wrong; I love TFOT, they're one of my favorite bands. But you can't give credit where it isn't due and say this ISN'T a remix CD.

Though, purely fanservice, it's still a remix CD.

  • You know what he can say though. Who cares?

  • There is a difference between a remake and a remix. The band says this is a remake, so I'm going to agree with the people who created the song and say it's a remake not a remix.

  • its not remix cd. if you have heard the original version you wouldnt even think of it as a remix. its more of perfecting it. the original wasnt a finished project so they finished it now. its not like they took a track and messed with it. they wrote new parts, took parts out, rerecorded it. the process itself proves its not a remix.

    pwnd

  • Pwned?

First of all, there aren't any parts taken out or re-written to my knowledge. Then again, I haven't listened to much of these versions because they're terrible compared to the demos.

Secondly, they DID take tracks and mess with them. That's how you perfect something. Tool.

  • well if they said that its not a remix, doesnt that mean this was there original intention of how it should sound?

  • @Tragedy4949 Duh its a re-write. Who said its a remix..?

  • it's a remake, they had to remake it with frank black in it if you hadn't forgotten he replaced tim ward.

  • True...but I, and many other people, still prefer the demos.

It's great that they remade/remixed it, but I still prefer the demos, they were much faster and original, and that's what TFOT is all about in my opinion.

  • yeah, that's not what i'm saying, i prefer the originals also, i saying that you were wrong when you said they remixed them, they remade them with frank black

  • Well then I agree.

However, regardless of whether Frank is in the band or not, I'm sure eventually they would've taken the initiative to 'remaster' the Ghostship Demos, which makes these tracks remixes, regardless.

  • it's not a remix!

a remix is when you take the original tracks and screw with them or overdub.

a remake is when you re-record thereby creating new tracks.

    SCHOOLED!

  • You didn't 'school' me.

Let's just give eachother the benefit of the doubt and say it's a remaster? :]

  • Experimental, progressive, mathcore.

-How the FUCK could you go wrong?

    -These guys still shred.

  • what's progressive rock?

  • the fall of troy

  • LOL i knew someone would say that xDD

  • Progressive rock bands pushed "rock's technical and compositional boundaries" by going beyond the standard rock or popular verse-chorus-based song structures. Additionally, the arrangements often incorporated elements drawn from classical, jazz, and world music. Instrumentals were common, while songs with lyrics were sometimes conceptual, abstract, or based in fantasy.

  • i wouldn't ask for a better answer :D

  • yes, rush, emerson lake and palmer, king crimson, pink floyd etc.

  • Isn't this Ghostship?

  • yeah but they remade the album and it sounds wayy better than before

  • mathcore is used when bands mess around with time measures and tempos and junk. but this isnt it, i will give it progressive but thats what fot have always been

  • wtfs mathcore ??

  • It's when a band uses unique and unusual time signatures to produce a more complex sound. It's very technically challenging.

  • listen to sleepy time gorilla meuseam ....thats a good mathcore band

  • wow it's alot longer than the original ghostship, but alot more badass.

  • Wait is this album just ghostship remixes? because this sounds exactly like part 1 of Ghostship...>_>

  • They redid all the ghostship demos and put them together on an EP

  • I love the drums in this song.

  • THATS GHOSTSHIP P.1

wow this one is FAR better than the original

i almost didnt reckonize the beat i feel so dumb...

  • The original is quite alot better. IMO of course, but seriously. This has last all emotion and eerieness that the first one had..

  • fap fap fap fap fap fap fap fap fap fap fap ...good god, good god.. ohhhh god.. -squirts at 2:03, then again at 2:46- lulz. love these.
  • .............

  • TFoT needs to stick to this type of stuff. They need to stay away from their more popier stuff.

  • Nah dude.

Every single song from them is good.

They need to stick to what they do period.

    [:

  • is there going to be a physical version of this cd available in stores? i want to actually own it. sorry for sounding like a noob i'm just too lazy to check for myself...

  • As far as I know, there were only 3,000 made available, so the only way to get it is downloading it from iTunes or something.

  • YEESSS!! So Epic!

  • oh yeah nice cover

  • freaking epic

  • Ive loved all the albums they are such an epic band

  • i really hope they go back to old fall of troy. manipulator ruined it for me. stopped listening and forgot about them but now im totaly sucked in again.

  • THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN WANTING. the Fall of Troy is an Epic band no matter what anyone says. There going back to their root which is if anyone remembers them "The Thirty Years War" there BACK HELL YEAH

  • It's good but I like the old version better. The beginning of this one kills it for me. And I don't like the slower tempo. The old one was a work of art.

  • the vocals ARE WAY BETTER than the original demo. but yea i see where your coming from. personally i like the new begining. its like post rock-ish

  • i think the intro was better under the context of ghostship but still amazing song

  • SHOOT TO KILL BUT THEY JUST WONT DIE!!

  • thats a really cool line in this song.

  • I like the intro a lot better on this version. Also for those that have the actual cd, is the sound quality better on the disc? The videos on youtube almost make them sound like it's live....

  • you can download them for 5 bucks. u dont have to have the disk

  • yeah i have the cd, the quality's good. and its great listening to the whole thing since you can actually hear it as "one song".

  • Wow, this is fucking sweet! I am so downloading this album...

  • If anyone is going to catch them on this tour, they'll play all 5 songs from this album.

  • wht is this even about just found it on friend profile idk wht this is its almost emoish lol no offense

  • its one of the best bands ever EVER EVER!!!!!!!!!

  • yea but wht is it? wht u said is an opinion i need fact

  • its hard rock mixed with prog mixed with screamo mixed with jazz mixed with post rock mixed with math rock

sounds kinda like the mars volta

  • whts math rock??? thxs btw tho

  • math rock usually is instrumental but not always. it uses strange time signature patterns and usually math rock bands have crazy drum charts accompanied by unique guitar melodies.

some basic examples of math rock are

    tera melos

    hella

    by the end of tonight

    cinemechanica

    maps and atlases (debatable)

  • oh lol cool thxs

  • dont forget dillinger

  • dillinger is more MATH CORE

    some math core would be

    the #12 looks like you

fear before the march of flames

  • Fear Before?

    Mathcore?

    Not really... like,

    at all.

    Try, oh say,

    PsyOpus.

    I'd say that's a bit more mathcore.

  • listen to Fear before's album art damage and then tell me its not mathcore,

  • You joking?

I think mathcore is pushing it a bit.

    Besides,

    that's old stuff.

  • old or new it dosen't matter

"the god awful truth" by fear before is definatly mathcore.

but some of their other songs are more mellow. FBTMOF is a hard band to catagorize. but some of their songs are math core.

  • Just another thing, they changed their name like half a year ago, so you don't have to say the FBTMOF.

  • yea i know but i like the full name better. "fear before" sounds like a generic rock band name. FBTMOF is unique.

  • If you want mathcore go back to highschool and stop making up random music-genres. Douchebags.

  • I agree with dudeman, Fear Before is more like longdivisionhardcore :)

  • ghostship?

  • I just got my album today. Incredible voice work.

  • wait, this is a new album?!

  • yea basically download it on merch now for

    $5

  • as far as the opening goes, Ghostship Part I sounded much better, other than that, it sounds great.

  • GOT MY COPY!!!!!! YEAISDGHINDSTHI

  • im gonna download this off the fall of troys website :) never gettin free crap versions off mp3 sites the money goes further! X3

  • not to mention they did this because the fans wanted it.

the least we could do is pay for it.
