  • a mac pro with that screen?!

  • @TheSnowiii

It was a temporary solution, until I could afford a 27" Cinema Display.

  • @troy2062 How can you afford this?! (I am like really, really, really jealous:P)

  • I have a question, u are rich man?

    I

  • @Santill102 One Republic//All the Right Moves (Danger Edit). This is also found in the video description.

  • @falloobus

As of OS X 10.7.2, the entire NVIDIA GTX 500 series is supported, so upgrades are not a problem. n_n

  • Good Video

  • you white people always wear shoes in the house, wtf ? lol

  • What if a virus attacks!!!.....huh?...... <___<

  • @TheFunMusicImitators

    Clarify.

  • @TheFunMusicImitators Macs don't get viruses any where near as much as PCs. Macs rarely get them.

  • I hope your taking care of her

  • did you notice all the stuff he has

  • I like how you included the fan in on the description of the desktop.

  • i get that it is awesome, but why would you need this because it's only a superfast workstation. so it's not that fast a gaming and video editing and other stuff that needs good graphics, so i really do not see the use of this computer

  • @thomasnooren

I partially disagree in that video editing would be one of the primary applications for a workstation such as this, however my work centres on 3D animation, modeling and motion graphics. These are fields which greatly benefit from the processing power of a Mac Pro.

Furthermore, I am free to upgrade the GPU at will should other uses become necessary (it has already been replaced with a 5870).

  • @thomasnooren Gaming isn't really something useful though.

Video editing is, and you can't get Final Cut Pro* on a PC. So that's one benefit.

*Final Cut Pro X sucks but Final Cut Pro 7 is good.

  • @Genixel

In terms of feature set, Final Cut Pro 7 is quite far behind other NLEs such as Premiere Pro (for example, nesting was only introduced with FCPX last year). Given the most recent update to Final Cut Pro X, I am considering purchasing it.

  • @troy2062 Final Cut Pro 7 came out in 2009, whereas the latest Premiere Pro came out in like 2011. Of course it's going to be a bit further behind.

Due to FCPX being crap, I moved to Premiere Pro. While there are a lot of useful features (Such as Dynamic link; that's just really good!) there are a few things I prefer in Final Cut over Premiere Pro. I think Final Cut has a better timeline.

I wouldn't say that the latest FCPX update is very useful. It still lacks a lot of things unfortunately.

  • @Genixel What is it lacking? And don't say tape workflows! Import from Camera, tada, tape!

That's the biggest complaint I hear about it, and it isn't even a complaint, it's just people not bothering to check to see if it's somewhere else before jumping to conclusions. You should get used to it anyway, it'll only get better. It's an entirely new platform and it's where editing is heading. Digital is only going to become more mainstream and tools like FCPX will be ready when it takes over.

  • @TalesOfWar It's not all about things are missing, it's the fact that they moved them around or made it so you can't change stuff in certain ways.

Something a lot hate is the fact that there's no viewer; it's all on one pane. You can't compare clips in the browser with clips on the timeline.

It also misses a lot of timeline stuff. While the timeline is very good, it *needs* stuff such as turning layers off and locking layers. It's also hard to tell what's in what layer.

  • @thomasnooren Despite what you may think, video editing is still massively dependent on CPU power, even with things like CUDA and OpenCL being used. GPU's tend to be used more during playback in the timeline and so on, actual rendering is still predominantly a CPU heavy thing, unless you invest in some extra software to take advantage of your GPU too, which is pretty pricey. It'll still use the CPU's too, the GPU will just help it along.

  • mate, you live in apple...

  • clean your room:) & nice unboxing

  • nice video just saving up money for mines

  • so if i was to get this as my first computer i need to buy the screen and the cpu too?

  • @djkamikazfool Buy a PC?

  • I just wanna shout f*ck you only cause I'm jealous.

  • Is this set up better or just an iMac that's all in one?

  • @TheMuhammad08

That would depend on your particular hardware and expansion requirements.

  • awesome dude you have the same exact speaker system as me:D

  • Ow my god you did that from a pc scream ?

  • The intro scared me...

  • LOL Apple Mac Pro with Samsung Screen :)

  • i'd rather just get an iMac with the actual computer on the screen

  • lol i went to the apple store and went to see what the best one would cost and it the server version with max everything at a whopping:£55,819.96/$67,467.95 incl. VAT !

  • What's the name of the song in the beginning?

  • @12kevingomez

    Description.

  • i dont understand why peops pay so much for a mac, while you can create a better pc with that money

  • @LiivingMyLife

The Mac Pros are competitively priced in terms of OEM workstations (compared to Dell, for example). The fact that any custom-built workstation will ultimately be cheaper than any OEM is not a reason to single-out Apple workstations.

  • @LiivingMyLife Custom building a system like this wouldn't save you all that much money, and you'd be a bit of a fool to do so anyway considering the kind of money you'd be spending and what kind of things they're generally purchased for. Workstations are designed for mission critical tasks, so if they go down, that task goes down which could potentially mean thousands in lost productivity. If one dies, the warranty generally gives a replacement ASAP while it's in for repair, just swap drives.

  • I want to replace my PC with this one

  • same tv and i use it four computer to

  • nice room

  • intro song

  • @PaintballNova

    Description.

  • Noo !! Your supposed to hug the box with your legs and give the monitor or whatever in the box a bear hug and slowly pull it out

    try it, its fun :)

  • @DerekDeSouzaa Nah, flip it and jiggle it haha. I did that where I used to work when we got a few of these things just to make the boss squirm. It worked lmao. Thankfully I didn't drop them, not that it would really matter much. I've seen these things fall down office block stairs and still be in perfect working order. Granted the case gets beat up, but they still work like nothing happened. They're real tough bastards. I've seen Dell workstations fall down stairs too... plastic fails lol.

  • after you looked at your specs, i looked at mine

    2.2GHz quad-core

    Intel Core i7

    4GB 1333MHz

    750GB 5400-rpm1

    Intel HD Graphics 3000

    AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 1GB GDDR5

    Built-in battery (7 hours)2...

Thats the difference between $2000 and $5000 :'(

  • Omg 3k computer and shitty logitech speakers..

  • this guy's rich.. he had 2/3 xBoxes, a Wii, a PSP GO, 3 Monitors, a Mac Pro, and he was upgrading to a magic mouse... now that's something that I wish I had:))

  • @DCDG2009 it doesnt mean he's rich it just means he likes to spend his money on electronics

  • @uknowidontno044 Or he's good at saving up lol. If you genuinely NEED a system like this, you're likely to be able to make a decent amount of money back from putting it to use, so it's a damn good investment. My friends father does freelance design and spent £16,000 on the 2008 model, maxed it out. He got that money back within a few contracts over the next 3-4 months.

  • What about just building a Hackintosh for less than half the price?

  • @phytra

I could not trust the stability of a Hackintosh for the purposes of work.

  • @troy2062 Oh ok.

  • @phytra It wouldn't be less than half the price, it'd actually be fairly similar. These things use server components, which cost more. You'd need a dual socket motherboard and two Xeon CPU's, and ECC RAM, all of which cost a great deal more than their desktop counterparts. You'd also need a good beefy solid PSU too, and those things cost a nice chunk of change too. Custom building isn't really worth it in most cases for this class of machine.

  • hey nc room!

  • What if Mac Pro and iMac?!

  • @iOSRider4983

I do not understand the question.

  • @troy2062 What if you have an iMac plus adding w/ Mac Pro?!

  • @iOSRider4983

Then you would have an iMac and a Mac Pro.

  • @troy2062 iMac and Mac Pro in one? connecting iMac to Mac Pro

  • @troy2062 How much did that cost ?

  • @iOSRider4983 if that is your question: you can use your iMac as display...

  • Comment removed

  • Steve jobs is dead 1955-2011 R.I.P.

  • we have 16 of these in my school!!! :D

  • what samsung monitor model is dat?

  • @tineestioco

    Samsung SyncMaster T240.

  • @fuzzmunshkin

Or better yet, why don't you stop pissing off both myself and my viewers. Goodbye.

  • @ThePilotpatrick

Yes. The 27" Apple Cinema Display.

  • @ThePilotpatrick

iMacs manufactured before October 2009 can not be used as monitors.

  • My dream computer....hahahaha. YA RIGHT! I could get a PC with the same specs for about $1200. Remember, all that glitters is not gold.

  • @TheInternetIsMagic

Not in 2009 when I bought this, you couldn't. :)

  • @TheInternetIsMagic Just buying two of the CPU's in these things would cost $2000. So. Good luck with that.

  • @TalesOfWar

To purchase two E5520s (the CPUs in this Mac Pro) would presently cost $800.

  • when u said "atleast there wont be any screen problems" were u talking about imac? because i just bought one. and they tried repairing it 2 times to fix yellow tint etc. and finally i decided to call it quits and get a full refund cuz the screen is just so shitty... and now im wondering to buy a pc or a mac pro..

  • The samsung LCD monitor looks crappy, get the Apple LCD Monitor, Its better

  • @TCtrois

    I did. :)

  • @troy2062 The only good thing about macs are the look the hardware is MEH

  • @kris10ish

I disagree. While Apple's consumer market products have a tendency to be quite overpriced, their professional hardware is very competitive. In the software department, OS X is far more operationally stable than Windows (for example, superior RAM management) while offering compatibility with linux software and a full *nix terminal.

  • @troy2062 WINDOWS DOESNT MAKE THE HARDWARE lol nor does apple so you are basicly dissing your own hardware LOL like i have a gtx 580x2 does macs get that option ?

  • @kris10ish

Please restate your position in a manner which I can understand. I have said nothing of hardware manufacturers, nor have I criticized them. I could certainly install the GPUs you have referenced.

Why would a gaming GPU be a desirable option for a workstation which places importance on visual simulation performance? Why are you comparing a custom-built PC to an OEM?

  • @troy2062 Because you are saying macs have better performing hard and software wich i can disagree. And alot of others can disagree too

  • @kris10ish

I did not assert that the hardware in Macs is superior. I asserted that the professional market computers sold by Apple are on par with those of any other OEM. I went on to explain that OS X is a more stable operating system with a far greater level of unix interoperability as compared with Windows.

I suggest that you not assume everybody in possession of a Mac to be a "fanboy" by default.

  • am so jealous right now....

  • Please cut your fingernails!!!!

  • haters can lick my balls of steel

  • you have so many computer things!! your room/house must be packed with stuff (i have an urge to say crap but oh well)

  • your a fucking dork

  • @crazy360playa

    The proper term is "nerd".

  • @crazy360playa think for a second it was dorks who created windows mac tv internet cd players mp 3 players computers games xbox ps nintendo and all other electronics so without dorks where would we be

  • @MrRetardss you're actually being very stereotypical. the people responsible for the things you named were very brilliant people, far from being dorks. a dork in my eyes is someone that is dim witted, with a dull personality, with odd interests. maybe this guy isn't that, but whatever, i was just fucking around. and hey im not saying that's a bad thing, im really a nice dude who respects everyone no matter the way they are. the world wouldn't be what it is without people with an interest/passion

  • @crazy360playa

"dim witted, with a dull personality"

    Why thank you.

  • @crazy360playa lol first look at bill gates and see that he makes your overall money made in a month in about 4 seconds and he is a 'dork' i'd be a dork like that than be 'cool' at school >.>

  • @virajisnotfat 1st of all i'm 15, i dont have a salary. 2nd of all, you clearly didnt see my second comment to someone saying something similar to what you just said. look in the comments below

  • wait... so let me get this straight: this like 4000 dollar computer doesn't come with an apple monitor?

  • @DarthPalladius

No. Most workstations do not include monitors as standard (again, see Dell T7500).

  • @NewRenSociety

I chose the wired keyboard (as it has a numpad) and did not specify a wireless mouse, as I would be replacing it with a Logitech MX Performance in any case.

  • @NewRenSociety

Yes, however I have yet to install a BluRay drive.

  • Hey dude, we got the same speakers:D are you happy with them? I am completely okay with them...:)

  • why did it take 6 months to get?

  • ...your wearing shoes on carpet??? LOL

  • ammmm..... and the hdmi output?

  • @servid23

ATI did not include on-board HDMI with the EFI version of the 4870. A €5 passive adapter solves that problem in any case. :)

  • @troy2062

    ok, thanks for answer

  • Screw.You ._.

  • Ridiculously over-priced. For $5 grand you can get an unbelievable Windows tower.

  • @manco82

    1. This cost nowhere near €5,000.

    2. The Mac Pro line is generally no more expensive than other OEM workstations of the same specification (see: Dell T7500)

  • @manco82 we dont care!!

  • I still think Mac computers are waay overpriced.

  • @YoutuJ3eJ3lows

    Many are.

  • @troy2062 I think you can get a Windows computer with the same specs for under half the price of Mac...

  • No HDMI? WTF

  • @Roger5970 HDMI sucks for professional workstation class systems and monitors. It doesn't have the colour accuracy needed. It also costs more than DisplayPort thanks to royalties, and the kind of monitors these things are meant to be hooked up with tend to be DisplayPort due to the colour thing I mentioned.

  • @TalesOfWar

DVI-D and HDMI are interchangeable digital mediums. There will be no difference in color accuracy between them.

  • @troy2062 I didn't mention DVI. I was explaining to the chap why there's no HDMI on it, but rather Mini DisplayPort. Use DisplayPort wherever possible if you're using your machine for colour accurate work on a high end display! DVI is fine, as is HDMI, but it's more limited when you get to the higher grade displays like your NEC's and Eizo's and the like. They recommend DisplayPort for those because they can handle all the extra colours. Granted the GPU needs to support it too lol (like Quadros)

  • @TalesOfWar

I have misunderstood. Regarding MDP vs. HDMI in terms of color accuracy, I will research this matter, but experience is telling me that it is very unlikely. :3

  • @troy2062 On an unrelated note. What do you think of your desk? I have the same one and hate the size of the keyboard tray haha. I didn't bother with the door on the left though as that's where my tower lives.

  • @TalesOfWar

The keyboard tray is an annoyance for me too. How am I supposed to fit a pizza box on such a short tray?! Hehe.

    As for overall size, there is plenty of space to absentmindedly clutter with random stuffs and then wonder where the mess came from. n_n;

  • thats new?

  • That was probably atleast over 10grand

  • @hockeyislyfee

Less than half of that. :)

  • @troy2062 how much did you pay for it?

  • we have same monitor:']

  • cut your fucking nails

  • song at the beginnig`s name please... Nice vid.. i subscribed :) sub me back

  • nice but im sticking with PC

  • It's a microwave not a computer HUGEEEE!!!!

  • clean up

  • cut yo nails

  • Love Mac, have my MBP and still love it.

Would never waste my money on a Mac Pro though. I built a 12 core Intel, with 16 gb ddr3 ram, an ati radeon hd 5870, and 4 1tb HDD. for 1900

  • Ok this looks kind of weird you have 2xXeon processors 16gb ram bla bla but a radeon card ? man it should have been something like Quadro or FireGL at the least. But using a 512MB card ? that looks damn weird o_O

  • @omkarjere

My intention was to upgrade the card after purchase and sell the 4870. My current card is a 5870 1GB.

  • Comment removed

  • is the mac loud? sounds like it?

  • YouTube is weird.

  • Your clearly a kid, where do u get the money for all this stuff u have?

  • @trabang

Is 19/20 really a "kid"? It is really a matter of opinion.

I work in graphic/web design. This is how I earn money.

  • @troy2062 LOL wow I actually thought you were like 15/16, my bad although that could be taken as a compliment. Honestly with your intelligence and computer skills theres no question youll have a very lucrative career in the future. Keep up the tutorial vids there much appreciated.

  • @troy2062

    Lucky Man

  • HI i wanna give you and advice: CLEAN YOUR ROOM make it look nice and beautiful just like your MAC PRO , it will look really beautiful , Please don"t understand me wrong it is your room you do everything you want i just wanted from you to know that if u clean your room it will look very nice and when you enter your room u will be happy

  • @seeyainthenextlife

    It was clean. o.O

  • @seeyainthenextlife lol, life advice :P

  • Shout out to all the folks who know everything about rendering but nothing about music......most of you fucking suck!!!!.....get a life...get off his dick..... There's folk who syndicate mainstream trax using much less

  • @Drop35235

I'm afraid I did not quite understand some of the context in that comment. In any case, my taste in music has changed rather drastically since this video was produced.

  • Why, why why the fuck did you buy this shiet?

It is meant for entry level Soho for fuck's sake, and its only worth it with OS X Server.

  • @mozdonny

This is being used as a renderer, not a server, so that would serve no purpose. This is not an "entry-level" workstation.

  • @mozdonny Yeah well, good luck on rendering anything worthy on it, that will take a while :D

  • @mozdonny

High quality renders take time regardless of how powerful your PC is, and 8 cores is considered very high-end. It is certainly not going to compete with a current dual 3.33GHz 980X, however you must understand that this PC was manufactured in mid-2009 and purchased long before such processors were heard of.

  • @troy2062 >dual 980x

    Wtf no

  • @xxDPKINGxx

    Um...?
