ok first of all any 2stroke will rape a 4stroke. y do you think they race them double the cc of the 2stroke? duh. and you dont have to rebuild them every year either. i hav a 2001 blaster and it has the stock piston and runs strong.
I love the mud on it, reminds me of mine sitting in my garage all messy :D only problem is my friend just got a trx250r and it has 6 gears... Need to gear mine up just to hang with him haha
yeah i loosened those 4 bolts and it still wont move. the only way i can get it to move is by taking that bar off that holds the caliper in place and pull it towards me. i just got the quad 4 weeks ago so im not sure if its messed up.
nice lt250r, can u make a video and show me how to tighten the chain up. the only way i can get it to tighten up is if i take the rear brake stay arm off and move the caliper and all but i know thats not right. mines an 86
What you need to do is, loosen the four bolts on the swingarm that wrap around the axle carrier, then look in between those 2 brackets and youll see little holes in the center of the carrier, so with those 4 bolts loose, get a big screwdriver or allen wrench and stick it in there, then pull towards you, until your chain is desired tightness, then just reitghten those 4 bolts on the wrap around pieces. Hope this helps.
@dirtbike4life00 couldnt he just take the leather that is on it off and replace it with new leather on that seat or would he have to get a new seat? im just only curious
2-strokes are a lot more work than the new 4 strokes are. I'd say if your on a budget, look into getting a Honda 250r, or a LT250r. You can also pick up 400ex's pretty cheap which will beat almost as fast, with a lot more reliability and no mixing gas, or changing top ends every year. hope this helps.
@03pete HOLY SHIT WHAT FANTASY WORLD DO YOU LIVE. 2 STROKES ARE MUCH MORE RELIABLE THAN 4'S. MY 1990 LT250R HASNT BEEN REBUILT SINCE 2001 AND I RIDE ALMOST EVERY WEEKEND IN THE SUMMER AND DO SOME RIDING IN THE WINTER ALSO. QUIT SPEWING YOUR DUMBASS UNEDUCATED COMMENTS.
@03pete u dont have to changer ur top end every year????? ive had the same top end on my cr 250 for 5 years still have 10:1 compression and 195 psi?? and 400ex vs a 250r? its not even funny the 250r whoops i have both of them and the 400 have more money an more work in it
I would not worry about it not starting on the first kick, NyzProblem is an idiot. If my trx250r sits for a week it takes 3-5 and some time 7 kicks to start. It all depends on how warm it was when you put it away and where the stroke was, top or bottom.
I do not have a compression tester to test it, so I dont know. And no I didnt do that on purpose, I just dont think the piston was in the right spot to kick it.
I believe its a aftermarket swingarm, but I'm not sure if its extended. Its a FMF Pipe and Silencer. Sorry I didnt rev it higher, it was only running for 30 seconds before that and it didnt have enough time to warm up.

I wasnt worried about it being bad, high compression is good... just not too high. I blew up my top end last week though.
03pete 2 years ago
if you have to kick ur motor over 7 times to get it to start something is not right...
when u first kicked it was the cluch all the way in because it should not stop like that 1/2 way down
how long did ur top end last?
what pre mix ratio where u running?
i know 85-86 lts are known for throwing rods if you run them to lean. thats why i run myn at 33-1 with H1R
alecM4321 2 years ago
it's not about the fuel/oil ratio so much as the air/fuel ratio.
the more oil is in the fuel the leaner the air/fuel mixture.
just make sure it's jetted properly
