I was 18; one of the greatest Mizzou games ever. Awesome talent on that team. Unfortunately for Nebraska, they got stuck playing OU again in the Orange Bowl, which I thought was a real raw deal for them; not cool.
I was at this game, and I couldn't believe the strength of Wilder, and how he threw our defender down. As well as how good Wilder, Winslow and Bradley were, who later we be in the NFL and MBL. Berns had an awesome game and we had another great team that year. What sucked is we beat Oklahoma the week before and this game caused us to play them again in the bowl. Thx for sharing
Amazing highlights, Nebraska ran two offensive plays one was an interception the other they were sacked and they still somehow managed to score 31 points.
I have the entire game. Rick Berns was amazing. In case you weren't able to figure it out, these are highlights from a Mizzou perspective. You want NU highlights, I'm sure there are some of those to be found elsewhere.
I appreciate the fact that they were from a Missouri perspective and yes I figured that out, but I also have videos posted and I'm a Husker fan that shows key highlights for both teams. For example 83 NU vs OU and 98 Nu vs Tennessee.
I liked your highlights but would have liked to see both teams as it was a great game that went back and forth and would have made your highlight package without question 5 stars. Your highlights did not capture the true competitiveness of this game. just saying
I was at that game and Berns was amazing. He opened the game with an 82-yeard touchdown run and finished with a then-school record of 255 yards on 35 carries.
you have no idea how happy this game made me. OU had lost a week before 17-14. This game cost NU a chance at the title. They would of killed Penn St. in the orange bowl. That would of put OU in the sugar bowl vs Alabama!!
Great Memories - I was 8 years old... We'll get the win in Lincoln this weekend (2008). Icing on the cake - Pelini says he's going for a shutout vs. Chase and crew....
i sure do miss watching big 8 football.

That old gold looks so much better than the sickly canary yellow shade the Tigers
wear these days. The official colors are still old gold and black, aren't they, so why
does the football team only wear it on their helmet? Did Pinkel allow the players to
choose the shade?

That 1978 Mizzou team should have won more games. They were so talented. I like those old uniforms too.

MU will not have a problem with NU this week. My prediction MU 45 NU 17 and Chase will win the heisman.

Excellent prediction! The final score was MU 52 - NU 17.

30 long years ago. I was 8 years old.
Let's hope Mizzou can break the chain of futility in Lincoln in two weeks.
