@adoseofblue it sounds rather Gay when translated in English. I blame the inaccurate contextual translation along with the simple fact that translation takes away the power and influence of the kalam.

Translation from any of the easttern languages into english takes oway much more than the beauty, because the concepts, the symbolism, the paradigms of these cultures simply do not exist int those cultures, & so the appropriate words are missing in english to convey the feel of the poetry, which is the very heart & soul of poetry. Bulle Shah, Ghulam Fareed, for that matter most of the Urdu Shayars just can't be accurately translated

I am a hindu and can only relate myself to pakistani culture as we came from multan to india in 1947. I cannot relate myself to what's going on in india and feel sad to see what's going on in Pakistan.
