  • I had no idea there were so many "celebrity cameos" in this.

  • It's like trying to have sex with a stranger while on too much acid.

  • Ah, the eyes say it all!

  • I thought that I saw Overt Mercredi was in there too but I'm not exactly sure? At 0:30?

  • I met the guy at 00:50. He's a rapist. He's got a rapist's mustache.

  • that's a funny way of drawing a billion chinese immigrants

  • OMG! L Ron Hubbard at 0:57!

  • This freaked the shit out of me as a kid, why are nfb films so wierd?

  • Is that Farley Mowatt at 0:41?

  • I really enjoy Canada Vignettes - Faces

First of all I love the J.S. Back music and secondly it is neat to see faces being transformed from female to male, old to young, white to oriental or Eskimo, etc.

It brings back good memories of being in elementary school.

  • Looks like John Turner at 0:44

  • @JonLeibow It is John Turner.

  • @guitargrrl74 Couldn't have said it better....this used to catch my attention 100% of the time whenever it came on the tv.

  • This freaked me out big time as a kid!Of course,I couldn't understand the point behind it at all, either.

  • Hey, did I see Guy Lafleur in there?

  • @65viewer

Yes, good eye. At about 45 seconds.

  • Love this. Even when I was a child it made me feel so peaceful

  • Love this. Even when I was a child it made me feel so peaceful

  • It's a Bach chorale, arranged and performed by flautist Paul Horn. He plays five flutes, I believe, overdubbing himself. It was on his album "Inside 2" if I recall correctly.

  • Yep...makes me feel like I'm waiting for a show to start on CKND in Winnipeg back in 1984 or something.

  • The Prime Minister at the time, Pierre Elliot Trudeau, makes a cameo at 0:56

  • @grecomic I never before paid attention to the fact whether or not some of these faces were particular Canadian celebrities, politicians,or personalities before until now.

  • This freaked me out back in the day. It kind of still does...

  • so do I. things sure have changed over the years.

  • Brings back memories of my childhood. This always impressed me considering it was animation done all by drawing. NFB put out some pretty impressive stuff. I miss the national flavour of these shorts and vignettes. CBC should bring them back, along with the old Hinterland Who's Who. The new ones just don't compare, and are rarely shown even then.

  • This was soooo creepy to watch when I was a kid...

  • People die; that's a fact.

  • Actually, the Michael Jackson video copies Godley & Creme's "Cry" video from 1985. Look it up.

I don't think G&C saw this, though. But the idea has probably occurred to any number of artists.

  • But, If

    You're Thinkin' About My Baby

It Don't Matter If You're Black Or White

  • thank you so much

  • Michael Jackson copied this for Black & White..I love this vignette..thanx

  • Unlike Black & White this was not done using CGI. It was done the old fashioned way with a lot of hard work, painting hundreds of individual cells and then photographing each one one at a time to make this short film.

  • I remember this reminding me of Xmas because I'm pretty sure that was the first time I had seen it.

  • EEEEEEK!!!!! Instant Memory Dart to the Head! thanks so much!!!!!!!

  • My god, CBC was showing us some heavy stuff!
