The release of this game was one of the single most important moments in the history of both the company Konami, and in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, as well in culture itself, not limited to American. The cartridge should be plated in gold and put in a museum.
I always liked the theme better than the video game. I would sit there, turn on the NES and the TV and just replay the intro over and over again...Love this theme! I always thought it would sound spectacular with real band.
@ ryratt: I noticed that too about the drums. The guitars are a bit out of tune too. especially noticable at 3:04. Still a great track though, these guys are great. And about the red masks...good question!
I liked the original gameboy game. BEfore all you whippersnappers had your damn gameboy color and gameboy advanced, we had black and white ninja turtles.
2:18 this melody brings such a smile to my face. it brings me back to when i was a child and didnt have a care in the world. this makes me wanna sit on a beach with a book and a beer :-)
In the young times of the TMNT (drawed for adults not for kids!) there have red or purple masks. I have an old comic from 1987 from Spain, in this there have all turtles purple masks and many many bloodscenes in this comic^^
That's more accurate to the original comics (REALLY OLD) rather than the cartoons. The individual colours weren't introduced until later in their popularity.
you're full of shit, it was impossible on the nes!
when i was little i couldn't ever make it past the whole dam/bomb underwater sequence, and then i went back and played it in my adult life, i about had a heart attack when i realized you got to drive the turtle van on the next level. but then i died of course.

The beginning drums are a little too slow and a little off beat.

I had this game, pretty good and hard. I never understood why in the front drawing all of the turtles had red masks.
inermerip 2 years ago
Thats because in the original comics, all the turtles had red masks
McPlEmuLegs 2 years ago 14

Yes, they did indeed use the riff for the game. Big ups to Queen for creating the first speed metal song ever.
