I dont see makin that many horses being a problem going thro driveshafts an rearends maybe but by the sounds of that car it could chirp the tires very easyily..
871cui??? Jeeez, that's a lot :D whatever guy commented on this one NOT having 1000 horses: you obviously got no idea about the output of a well tuned engine, especially with some big displacement... a thousand horsepower is not even the top of the row, actually I'm wondering why it "only" produces that much. If you don't believe me, google "nelsonracingengines" one day...
@bigran57fan best available to you could mean a cam made by joe smith's garage. by the swamp, 1000 at fly, mine did that on 7 lbs of boost. on pump gas. with iron heads.
what would this car be worth the way it is? and the front bumper missing?? It reminds of the 57 on the movie running on empty. love that car are they gasser looks?
That IS the coolest 57 I've ever seen!!!!!!!!!!! I've owned 5 shoeboxes and my high school 57 Hard Top was my favorite. It too was stripped of it's front bumper and raised up a bit like a gasser. It was navy blue with a 327 and a 4 speed. Black naugahide interior. Back in 1977! Man, I wish I could have kept that car.
@crimson1667 Money was the reason I sold my last two 57's. They are very expensive hobbies. Especially to make them go fast. Very time consuming too. Plus, you need a place to work on them. 3 strikes and you're out. Money, time and place, you've got to have all three. All I have is time. But, I can tell you boat loads about them. I've spent thousands of hours restoring them.
I want a car with that damn cool loopy idle!

They are the best in the business.....Great bunch of guys except Don, don't let him test drive your car...it will come back dusty.
Joe is always ready to give you a shop tour and Arlean will be happy to seperate you from your money... and she is so nice doing it.
They are very knowledgeable and fair. Look at the great job they did for me.
