People with pain in the back look out for more problem .... all this people here are looking to the pain .... but the will learn whenn it is tolate for then ....pffff :-(
I never really thought about how much harder if would be to clean and jerk with a very thick bar. Interesting. These woman also seem surprisingly strong for their sizes.
@jubeijrl78 its not all fat with strength athletes....the majority of them end up with protruding abdomens because of the techniques they use which over pad their underlayer abdomen (there are two layers of ab muscles, top which is washboardy and the underlayer which is core muscle and banded). but yeh her hubby looked a lil flabby on his arms
Great to see womens getting involved in male dominated sports. Womens can certainly be as mentally tough and technical as men, it's just society that sees women in sport as unusual.
Seems to me though that a woman's hands are typically smaller than a mans, therefore the width of the axle lift bar should be correspondingly smaller???? But great video and well done for the subtle advert for Iron Gym ;-)
@gsboss yeah probly. some of those suckers are big and stick out....they arent like a dudes chest which is clean and smooth, they are fat and tend to be squishy (if they arent implants) and act like drag when youre trying to have a clean smooth movement
but the fellas are lifting like a million times more weight than the chix...have you seen them pullin trains n wotnot? need to be WELL planted for them feats
@badmichelle1978 yeah and youre point? men have the advantage of MORE TESTOSTERONE and ANDROGEN for building muscles ya dumb bitch hence the ability to put on more muscle to support pulling a train. what the fuck? are you a fucking retard?
I'm kind of worried about their lower backs. I just hope they can always be successful. I love their efforts and attitude . . . and physiques, of course.
Strong and sexy women. Man I wish more women were like these 4 lovely ladies! Just proof that girls can lift big and be strong and still have a feminine body.
I'm a kinesiology major-do you know how hard it is to find this kind of representation? Most of the stuff out there is female bodybuilders -keep it up girls!
I would totally support this sport. There's no reason a woman can't or shouldn't lift heavy or be strong.
No, I said "you're kidding" because I couldn't believe that you misunderstood the point of the intro. I thought it was pretty clear but I could be wrong. I was trying to show that the common perception is that strongman is only for big burly men and then turn that perception upside down by focusing on the women. Watch it again and listen to my voice-over. I think 56 seconds out of 8 1/2 minutes isn't too much to bear for an intro.
If I saw this on television, I would assume within the first 20 seconds that it was about men competing in strong men competitions. I would switch the channel. What would make me want to watch it (since that topic doesn't interest me) is to know that it was about strong women--either because I already know about and like the topic, or because my common perceptions are being upset. I understand what you were trying to do, but I hope you understand my point.
I do understand your point but that why I called the clip StrongWOMAN Competition, so that there would be no mistake what this is ultimately about.
So, let me understand...you are interested in strongWOMAN competitons, but not strongMEN competitions? Strength is strength, no matter the gender, is it not?
Okay, so you've titled it StrongWoman Competitiion. Why do I need to wait a minute to see what I'm interested in?
You're kidding when you ask that last question, right? I have more interest in watching strong, healthy women than men.
I owe you this much: It gets much better after that first minute and you have a very good voice for narration. Thank you for the video and my apologies for not thanking you sooner.
Loved the video of course... It might have been interesting to interweave men with women for the first 56 seconds rather than have it only as men? Just a suggestion to keep the interest high throughout the excellent intro. Show a man doing something, then a woman doing the same thing, etc.
I don't know for sure because I'm only the videographer, but isn't that the Only way to do it if your hands are too small? Jalaine's husband Steve has been doing this for years, I don't think he would have his wife learn how to do it that way if there was a better way.
I guess it all depends on the person, I can't clean it the way show in the video very well, but I can continetal clean it much better, and my hands are fairly small, I think it's just a matter of what you get used to
Thanks. I really appreciate that. I'm recently emailed you privately to see if you'd like me to work on you next video. I think we could do something really interesting together.
look mam , i can feel pain over a few years ...

the axle lift is intriguing - I'd like to see if this helps with overall fitness for my O-lifting!

Love seeing the carryover from olympic lifting training to the strongwoman stuff. It's something I'm struggling with now.

Too true. I just think it distorts them aesthetically

Interesting how the women look good though the heavy lifting seems to make the men go too stocky for my tastes

why is she trying to hook it on her arm just lift
stumaggoo 4 years ago
Listen to what she's saying. That's the technique one must use because of the width of the bar.

Why do we have to wait 56 seconds before you show the women?
w9j15g 4 years ago
You're kidding, right?
gatomjp 4 years ago
I suppose that means you don't have a good justification. We already know about strong men competitions. Why dwell on that for so long?

How might you have done it differently?

But that would ruin the whole point of the intro whcih is the "surprise" of the appearance of the women in what is thought of as a man's sport.
