What's funny is that back in the 1700's, when this animal was first seen, and specimens were brought back to London, they all though it was a sewn-together fake and didn't believe it was real. This is when there were all kinds of weird animals in the world that are extinct today (moa, dodo etc). That was all fine, but they didn't believe in the platypus ;)
