I never met Jay Reatard, but I've heard contrasting views about him. Personally, I could care less what people say, good or bad. He was prolific as hell, played all the instruments on his recordings and consistently kicked ass. I'm of the opinion he was bit of a musical savant. His songs are catchy yet brutal, dark and seemingly very sincere. He's already a legend, and I think that's what pisses so many people off. U can talk smack all u want about him personally, but u can't deny the music.....

the Tool video's that Jones does himself are similar in style to Quay...not identical, but inspired by definitely....if you like the video for Sober, you owe it to yourself to check out the quay vid's and see what you are missing...great eerie stuff.
