@pof1991 Thanks Martin!! Your exactly right, top of one cell to the bottom of the next one. You are just connecting them in series similar to hooking up batteries each additional cell is another .5 volt!!☺
Where did you get the backing, and how is the panel holding up? I understand silicone has acids that slowly corrode metal, so I am curious how it is doing.
@spikey911usa The backing is called FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) you can get it at home depot or lowes. 4x8 sheet for $25. That panel is only 9 months old and doesn't have any corrosion yet!!☺
@crocrk5 Ebay!! There are a couple different good companys they all have the same thing at about the same price. I use EVERBRIGHTSOLAR2003, But MLSOLAR is also good!!
Pretty steady hand there, maybe you should've been a surgeon.
What got you to get into making a solar panel? Pretty cool stuff. I've been thinking about messing around with this sort of stuff for a while. . A friend of mine does it for a living, and I've been meaning to pick his brain about it.
@kookiemoose My B.I.L. was given 3 panels and I seen how easy it was to hook up without batteries. He told me they weren't that hard or expensive to make. So he gave me one and I tried making that one. I'm gonna try making a bigger one now!!☺
Could you feasibly buy a field and cover every square inch with solar panels and then sell the stored elec back to power companies? Whilst you're sunbathing you could become a millionaire by selling the stored elec to the power companies :)
You need to check out Mixcat on here he has been doing these for over a year now , in fact he has quite a few things in his house including his hot water heater on solar energy. don't know if you did or not but you should have taken the panel outside and tested it all efore you got it all slammed together. actually there you go for your battery charger.. you could wire that inside to a battery bank and charge the batteries for all your motorcycles and yard equipment with those things.
@805ROADKING sweet!!! well i thought it was pretty cool when he recharged the batteries with different fluid myself and they worked well for him glad you are familliar with his videos though he's the only one i saw on here that actually did videos on that sort of thing at the time. i was quite frankly impressed to see it all in action personally. free energy who wouldn't be impressed if they are really into that sort of thing?
This is very cool, i have never seen this done before. I'm just trying to understand how the wire is routed.in the panel... is it 2 series banks of 14 cells, then the (-)neg sides and (+) pos sides each connected in parallel?..I have an older fluke just like that.great video!
Dr RoadKing! LOL I need glasses... Me too. It really sucks! You solder like an artist. A basic series parallel circuit configuration. Is this a kit? 49 watts is pretty good.
@edzgarage No it's not a kit, we collected everthing locally. We got the cells off Ebay. The hard part is trying to find cheap tempered glass. I think the next ones we make will be from an old sliding glass door. That will be about 200 watts!!☺
@paradoxdesigns I have one 126 watt panel that someone gave me that I'm just running back into the house thru an inverter, but that's the first one I made!!☺
How is the panel working for you?
dangervision 3 days ago
@dangervision It still works great!!☺

can not understand how the finished cells were soldered is there a sequence?
positive on top to the next cell underneath
sorry if im being stupid enjoyed the video and your panel looked very smart thanks martin
