  • never had a better response to false advertising. these kids are wonderful.

  • OK, this is *not* "CRUISE CONTROL - DIXIE DREGS."

  • OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!! well done kids....rock on...you guys/gal were AMAZING :)

  • This gives me hope for the future.

  • so much better than animatronic rodents making gestures that look an awful lot like theyre directed at their dick.

  • Excellent!

  • I'm not looking at mistakes note-wise- I'm looking for Passion- and they slay me with it. Apart from original, the best rendition, period. Bass player IS andy West.

  • @randallcaster Well, Andy West is a little bit older, quite a bit heavier, and has a thicker beard. Actually, the biggest difference is that Andy uses a pick...

  • AWESOME JOB guys!

  • These kids ROCK!

A+ plus for choosing The Dregs!

  • Fucking kidding me, she cant play violine atleast...

  • keep it up

  • GD some kids are not snotty nosed brats they actually have taste. Need the recording from the board though. Somebody has it, come on confess.

  • GD some kids are not snotty nosed brats they actually have taste. Need the recording from the board though. Somebody has it, some on confess.

  • GD some kids are not snotty nosed brats they actually have taste.

  • Of all songs they could of done, and they do Dixie Dreggs.AWESOME .These kids someday will change the world in music for the better once again, instead of playing total socialist propaganda anti-American crap like Greenday, and tons of others.Great work guys, you should be very proud.

  • God! Every frickin time I watch this, (every couple months) I'm just blown away!

Please! Updates on musical info on these now young adults.

  • Awesome. Great choice!

  • I would be shocked,If you haven't heard from steve morse.Great job!

  • Amazing! What dedication and talent. Too bad the soundman is asleep.

  • Amazing! What dedication and talent.

  • thanx kids

  • This proves there IS hope Amerikan musician's of the next generation. Once you

absorb and revere this type of music, it doesn't let go. Ever.

  • Amazing Kids!! Keep on being so dare :) I'll get really good!!!

  • They are ok (great for kids) but the video gets a thumbs down. It is titled incorrectly, call it "re-make" or "cover" or the "paul green school" or anything but "DIXIE DREGS"

  • These guys are Fuckin great!God bless these kids!!

  • its awesome

  • A bit of a train wreck.......but I give them credit for attempting a very difficult song.

  • Seems very weird that adults need to institute a school of rock to keep it going.

what the hell is wrong with the generation if it needs a freekin' institute to keep a great thing going that was just invented by the previous generations?

  • LOVE that you all chose this song!

  • Yes, please re-title the video, but CONGRATS for your talent. It's great to see young folks respecting this great music. PROPS!

  • You all GET OVER THE TITLE..... it was uploaded over 2 years ago, I think the "Internets" can live with this fraud..... I knew what it was with in a second and have this thing called a clicker on the mouse. Chill people! It was a pleasant fraud. Dregs is not easy music to play. Bravo kids!

  • At least you're not playing Britney Spears or JayZee..Props for that alone...

  • Great job!!!

  • You are using Steve Morse and company to promote your enterprise. Your title should be "performed by Rock School."

  • Problem is that video title is a lie. Therefore, no standing, only self promotion. Title of next video: Rolex Watch!. Let me be more specific, you are titling your video using a known copyrighted song and band and are not identifying yourself or substance of video in title. This is known as fraud and you are using the midleading title for self promotion, which is unethical. The title plainly indicates that the performance is by the DIXIE DREGS.

  • damn thought it was the real D Dreggs!! i is sad cat now ..

  • I agree that this video is wrongly titled. I was expecting to see the Dixie Dregs, not a bunch of kids playing a Dixie Dregs tune, but the bunch of kids is pretty damn talented, so I don't mind much. In particular, that girl fiddler can make that thing shriek.

Now: can they also play Louie Louie and Damaged II?

  • The very fact that they can even play this song speaks volumes. They may not play it exactly like the Dregs, but they really kick some ass!

  • close your eyes and tell me what you know or think on who is playing , fucking sounds good to me !! why aren't these kids on americas needs talent ? AWESOME!!!!!

  • This is not titled right.

I was expecting to see a video of the Dregs playing.

  • I'm sure Steve would get a big kick out of this. These kids have their whole lives ahead of them to grow and develop their own musical identities. As far as developing their chops, this is certainly a great place to start! Very impressive!

  • it's not bad at all but there are nuances missing inthis piece and with a bit which could have made a good piece great'

  • Wow, really well done. Nice to see kids that age that are aware of the Dregs music, let alone doing it justice. Well done! (Joeey, don't know what your problem is but ripping on a bunch of kids playing their heads off? Sheesh!).

  • not bad, like Lefty said, nice to see kids into some REAL music and playing it pretty well too. I'll forgive the misleading header though

  • This not School of Rock. This is School of Copy.

Tell your school to teach you how to title a video.

And yes, this hornet will keep buzzing until you get your act together. You kids need to take a course in Ethics.

    Study some Kant.

  • Hmm. Somebody's forgotten to take his anti-depressants.

  • Next Up: BLACK SABBATH; FOCUS. /watch?v=bpV5InLw52U

    :-)

  • Rock music should be played in an unheated castle in the winter time. /watch?v=O_u0qALgbxg

  • typo correction: being able to grind an axe is neither art OR miracle.

"gifted" prep school kids are irritating. WHAT is YOU ART? HWERE is the SURVIVAL, the GUT?, the RISK?

(RISK is not a BOARD GAME). This RISK is a BORED GAME...

    TOO MUCH TOO SOON.

    I-CHING SAY "NOT IMPRESSED"

  • Oh you little sinners, titling the video in a misleading way. Don't be thief. What, did you kids vote for George Bush? he too is thief. PUT YOUR OWN NAME IN THE TITLE. After you get done doing copy songs, then you can go to law school and work for the RIAA because what you are doing now is not going to earn a living. This is ... novelty. Hey, and take note, being able to grind an axe is neither art of miracle. THIEVES LIKE MADONNA THE BABY KIDNAPPER. Good Luck finding Your Way.

  • GREAT JOB to thises kids!!!

    Steve Morse would be proud

  • Mark O'Conner on fiddle has really changed!.... Saw the Dregs back in the 80's and damn they were amazing... These kids are rocking pretty good themselves though!

  • couldn't have said it better myself!

  • may nobody knows how old are they?

  • NICE!

  • Incredible.. I wish the sound was better..

You kids are tearing it up!! More!!

  • Wish the school of rock in my area did shit like this.

ALl they have is like punk night and 80's areana rock night cause there's no legit kids in my area.

You guys pulled that off well. Very nice.

  • regards kids :)

nice to see that young generations do music too

    kudos from Brazil

  • i was watching you guys this morning on another search...and...i search Dixie Dregs Cruise Control AND YOU SHOW UP!!!! AWESOME!!!!

Keep up the good work. let me know when you're in california and I'll pay for your event....definitely!!!

  • This a phenomenal performance, regardless of age. Great song and great job. Maybe they can learn "Ridin' High" next.

  • Maybe we parents *are* doing something right...

  • good song to choose from and good job!

  • Wow. Just wow. You kids are great. Please stick with it. I hope you start writing your own stuff and post it. Great job...

  • Fantastic & tecnically superb. Where'd u find these guys? Great musicians all of them. Love the bassist.

  • Take it from a HUGE Steve Morse fan, he would approve and so do I. SUPER JOB !!!

  • I'm not kidding1 This performance - mistakes and all_ moves me to tears every time!

Please put more of what their doing today.

I rally want to monitor their progress in music.

  • god bless these kids and their parents!!

I love it! The girl playing the violin..I wish I was 30 years younger and met someone like her!

They were non existent in my day.

She WOULD have been my wife/soul mate.

hard enough to find just players who could play this type of music.

Bravo to these kids you're the heart of your generation!

  • Wow....real kids playing real music....What the heck is that about?

  • Thank God there's hope : ) 2

  • I saw these kids perform this in New Jersey.

AMAZING performance of technically very difficult material!

  • TRADING 4'S EVEN !!!! HOLY CRAP/...I worked with the Dregs off and on for years...These kids ROCK !!!

  • That's my nephew Jesse killing on the Guitar!

  • Yeah there's mistakes they're KIDS. But damn if it don't give me goose bumps seeing these young 'uns getting off, and doing a great job too! I was VERY into the Dregs and Steve when I was

older than them ('79-22) and I studied hard, but never got to put a band together to play this music as they have done.

Gives me hope for the young people who do this instead of none music like rap.

  • Unfreakinbelievable.

I first saw the DD play this in a little bar in New Orleans 30 years ago, and these kids did this complex and complicated song with great nuance - Steve Morse would be proud. What I do remember about 30 years ago is that during the jam at the end they threw in the big five notes from Close Encounters, which was a hit movie then, the audience howled...

  • They did a fine job. Dixie Dregs would be proud.

  • Very nice! I'm sure the video doesn't do it justice.

  • I am a musician too. They did a great job. I am a big Dregs fan. I have played professionaly These kids did a brilliant job.

  • You kids were smoking hot, great job! Dont listen to the hacks here that dont know jack. I wish my 12 year old would give up the Green Day and All American Rejects and give this a go.

  • Agree.

I'm 13 but I still think people in my age can start hearing good music and not Green Day or other of these band (which I admit I listened to in grade 5 and 6).

    Great job.

  • Check my steve morse cover stressfest:

    /watch?v=QO8o2-YFNTM

  • This isn't very good.

  • Yeah, you're right. What errors did you hear? They learned that song and 20 other King Crimson, Yes, Tull and other pieces in 10 weeks - they suck. Time signature changes happen throughout the piece; seems they changed in all the right spots - no?

  • Arrogant corn-fed child. No?

  • @rockschoolslc Shit, my heart swells ever time I watch I watch this. I'm prouder n sht

to be an American from watching/hearing these kids than anything my government has done in the past oh. 97 years to be exact.

  • Ok, If you know it so well, lets see your version Mr "Pro Musician".

  • Comment removed

  • @capmilt dude its a really hard song to play. so give em credit

  • @capmilt ...Dude, there are tons of 30-yr old musicians who can play this. But guess what? These "kids" are not learning and playing this stuff to entertain 35-yr olds. They do it to learn about music. If ANYONE wanted to see some old man play dixie dreg songs, guess what? They would go see the REAL Dixie Dregs.

Grow up. Get a life. And have some godamn respect for other peoples hard work, especially people 20 years younger than you.

  • I couldn't believe this! These kids are awsome! They must be their(Dixie Dregs)kids - it's the only explanation :)

  • good song to choose from and good job!

  • this is shit

  • Glad to see that this one hasn't been forgotten!!

  • Good job young folks ! And this was the version off of "Freefall", the orginal.

  • great!!! keep on rocking!!!!

  • YES!!!!!!!!!!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!!

  • Great job!!!Love the rock violin!!

  • The "guitar" on the left looks and sounds a lot like a violin.

  • Thanks! The credits were all wrong. CutnpasteCutnpasteCutnpasteCutnpasteCutnpasteCutnpasteCutnpasteCutnpasteCutnpasteCutnpasteCutnpasteCutnpaste. Thanks again.

  • No problem; I enjoy being a smartass now and then. If you're in the band, kudos; keep up the good work!

  • it is a violin

  • Great Tune - Good Job!
