i think yunjin kim is such an amazing actress. the audition tape shows her reading for the role of kate, and an interesting side note, if u couldnt piece it together from the video, the original script intended jack to die in the pilot and kate to be the "leader"

@NewLeaX1 um no.... Michael Keaton was suppose to play Jack and die in the pilot... The writers decided that they no longer wanted Jack to die and wanted him to become the leader instead... Michael Keaton didn't want to commit to a series so he turned it down and the part ended up going to Matthew Fox

reason why they changed it, to keep jack in... was because they felt they would be betraying the audience and would anger them rather than shock them like they intended

the way the pilot is scripted is for the audience to fall in love with jack, with his character and leadership.. for the audience to trust him basically

then to just kill him off before the series even starts... people woulda hated it
