  • And braveheart...Ah to many

  • And Troy

  • Some of my favourites have to be the movie glory and of course gladiator there are to many good war movies out their really to say more although I would put War Horse up there too

  • list of war movies /watch?v=KyGzq9FLh9c

  • Also one very good movie is Alamo....the one with Dennis Quad. Anything with John Wayne in it is pure piss. Even the updated True Grit is a 100 times better than the old one. Also both the old black and white All Quiet on the Western Front is very good but so is the modern re-make with the guy who played John Boy on the TV series The Waltons.

  • Best ten war movies: 1. Saving Pvt Ryan 2. Tora Tora Tora 3. A Bridge too Far 4. Battle of Britian 5. Das Boot 6. Full Metal Jacket 7. Band of Brothers 8. HBO Pacific 9. Master and Commander 10. Apacolypto. Although Apacolypto was not a war movie, I chose all ten based more on historical accuracy. Another great old movie was The Blue Max, about German piolets in WW1.

  • k musica de fondo para mas horrible!!!

  • I second Paths of Glory and Full Metal Jacket. Another war movie I think should be top ten is Cross of Iron.

  • I think Paths of Glory and Full Metal Jacket (two Kubrick movies) are the best war movies ever. Paths of Glory is very underrated.

  • My favorite war movie of all time is The Longest Day. I remember always watching it with my dad.

  • 1. saving private ryan

    2. The pacific

    3.Band of brothers

    4.Black hawk Down

    5.The thin red line

    6.300

    7.Full Metal Jacket

8.Season of the witch (Kind of a war movie

    9.Patton

    10.Arn the night templar

  • Private Ryan for the beach landings alone, but what about A bridge to far? there are so many .

Not forgeeting, for the action scenes again:ZULU.

  • well the list is good but the patriot not a full war movie but i though its was amazing

  • These are all good films, but you neglected Full Metal Jacket, Waterloo, Gettysburg and the best of all. Cross of Iron.

  • @AngersSnow nah m8 this settles it-the great escape, say noo more

  • PLAAAATTTTTOOOOOOONNN!!!!!!!

  • band of brothers is my #1 "movie" if you could call it that. 10 episodes over an hour long, its time consuming but a lot more engulfing than a short movie. very emotional and hours of action scenes that will leave you at the edge of your seat at the end of each episode. 10/10! if you have yet to see it, it is a MUST SEE!

  • the sims music?

  • The Seven Samurai, Capitaine Conan, Glory, Thin Red Line, Letters from Iwo Jima, Full Metal Jacket, Das Boot, Lawrence of Arabia, Apocalypse Now, and The Last of the Mohicans, not necessarily in that order. And a special Oscar for Best Battle Scene in a Movie Not Typically on Anybody's War Movie List goes to: The Sand Pebbles. No one beats Steve McQueen armed with an ax and a doughboy helmet. Check it out, children.

  • sounds like the sims marketplace

  • In the right hand margin is 'epic battles', 'WW2 movies' 'War movies' 'roman empire' Arn the Kight Templar'........................and 'Top 10 Wet, wild movie scenes'... Is this the SAT test where I'm supposed to choose the one that doesn't match?

  • @MrUnemployable -What if I said yes! lol -just disagree with them all it is all a matter of opinion anyway but have a good argument for your choice...

  • where's full metal jacket and pearl harbor

  • @Mr3xcellenc3s -I think Full Metal Jacket was better than Platoon but there you go....

  • the music on this video is 100% crap!!!!

  • The best films about war are made in the countries which have most suffered from wars. It is Russia and Germany. Here only Anglo-Saxon films.

  • @wwwautohifiru -You are probably right as the victors always write history....life sucks doesn't it when you are a loser.-but hey that's life.

  • saving private ryan is a great movie though

  • Sorry, but apart from the opening 20 minutes of Saving Private Ryan it is not a great film. The rest of the movie is boringly formula led, like so many of Spielberg's movies. His latest "War Horse" has some great scenes but again the rest is formula -which is most movies but Spielberg's are boringly bad.

  • Yes Black Book (Zwart Boek) is a great film -because of it's story-line it reminds me of "Carve her name with pride" which was about one of the most brave woman agent's of the Second World War

  • I´m from the Netherlands too, and mine would be. 1 The longest day, 2 A bridge too far, We were Soldiers, 4 Enemy at the gates, 5 Band of Brothers, 6 Battle of the Bulge 7 were eagles dare, 8 Stalingrad, 9 Guns of navarone, 10 Zwartboek, Soldaat van oranje.

  • I'm from the Netherlands and, Mine would be: 1: Black Book (NL: Zwart Boek) 2: The Pianist 3: Pearl Harbor 4: Hitler the rise of the Evil 5: War Winter (NL: OorlogsWinter) 6: Valkyrie 2009 7: Soldier of Orange (NL: Soldaat van Oranje) 8: Inglourious Bastards 9: A bridge to far 10: Band of Brothers & The Pacific.
  • @djlars0416 thats why u never gonna be smart ur IQ is below zero

  • @djlars0416 pearl harbor is the 1

  • @MsDasaw -No Kate Beckinsale is number 1 -Pearl harbor is mispelt and apart from the battle scenes not particularly memorable -apart from Kate :)

  • @Fartsurmonde I have a thing for Kate also.

  • @MrUnemployable -Well it's hard not to :)

  • 1 5 8? devil lol

  • no war movie list can ever be complete without ''the great escape'' , has to be the the best war movie ever with an all star cast. also ''the desert fox'' and ''von ryan's express'' should be amongst the top ten war movies.

  • Letters from Iwo Jima!!!! Best film for me.

  • Yes, lets not forget Waterloo (1970) and Zulu. And have you seen Red Cliff ?

  • @fvdham -Red cliff ? -no what is that about

  • Mine would be:

    Savinf Private Ryan

    The Great Escape

    Band of Brothers

    Pearl Harbour

    Full Metal Jackets

    Platoon

    Tunnel Rats

Not 10, i know, but some epic movies :)

  • Braveheart? That is just wrong. That movie is grossly inaccurate both in events and the way things were supposed to look in that century. And it's mostly romance... And on top of that, there is Mel Gibson. There are many more better war movies. You just picked the most well known Hollywood production (and a couple of others so it does not look so bad).

  • Very well made!

  • I wouldve said a few of these:

    The Last Samurai

    The Patriot

    The last of the mohikans

    Letters from Iwo Jima!!!!!!!!!

  • Iwould have included Zulu.

  • i would of liked to see gettysburg on here

  • why isn't 300 on there ?

  • @SidelingShelf Is that a serious question? ,300 is a good action film horrible acting

  • @SidelingShelf. Because "300" is a shithouse movie overdosed on CGI and arty fight scenes.

  • i dunno but whenn i hear this song im crying . i dunno but im crying

  • Top 10 Best War Movies of All Time..... in US, only US, not a World

  • I love the American Flag waving at the End. You would never think any other country fought the war only them. Where are Dambusters, 633 Squadron, Zulu. Das Boot, Schindler's List The Eagle Has Landed Many of which didn't have the big bucks of todays movies nor the special effects and CGI. But then again that's right the war didn't start until the good ol USA joined in and won it for every one else. It's a fact that the war actually started in 1939 and not the day after Pearl Harbour.

  • @rebelyell18601865 ... et vous même oubliez qu'il n'y a pas eu que de bons films de guerre anglo-saxons...: La 317e Section, Capitaine Conan, Le Crabe Tambour, etc... pour ne citer que quelques films français.... ;-)

  • @rebelyell18601865 -Yes and Lawrence of Arabia and Waterloo with Christopher Plummer as Wellington and Rod Steiger as Napoleon with the extras provided by 30,000 Soviet troops playing British and French troops with a special appearance of the Scottish guards playing themselves -NO CGI and a true great film the likes of we are not likely to see again being made.

  • 10.Full Metal Jacket 9.Saving private Ryan 8.Pretty Village, Pretty Flame 7.Paths of Glory 6.Schindler's List 5.Life Is Beautiful 4.The Deer Hunter 3.Das Boot 2.Come and see(idi i smotri) 1.Dr. Strangelove, or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

  • I would've thought black hawk down would've gotten in the top three at least...

  • 3rd 300

2nd LOTR thr return of the king

  • @lordleage 300?! Are you fucking serious?

  • @MegaTranquilla Indeed i am 300 is a quality movie!

  • @lordleage Er, no it isnt

  • @Fartsurmonde How is it bad?!?! its got quality fighting scences, Very gorey, there absolute beasts! how do u not like it?

  • @lordleage -oh come on I know you are young but seriously "300" can not be taken as a great film -a grate(as leading to the sewer) film maybe. Full of awful clichés and poor dialogue and senseless violence. We are talking about GREAT movies mate ones that have it all great cinematography ,Great dialogue,Great stories to tell, Great Acting,Great memorable scenes -Movies that move the senses and the right message. Not mindless cr@p

  • @Fartsurmonde I don't know why everyones hating on 300 im not saying it's the best movie in the world im not saying it's the most historicaly accurate movie ever im just saying it is a brilliant war film, action from start to finish if you can't see that, then life sucks for you..

  • @lordleage -Look don't get upset -I respect your decision and comments but you should respect mine too and maybe the many comments against 300 tells you something. I grant you that 300 is an action film but there has to be more to a movie for it to be included in a greatest movie list. If you take the time to look at the movie lists people have given and at least try and see them on dvd or whatever you might just realise what people see to be a great movie.

  • @Fartsurmonde Sorry i don't mean to be disrespectful, but didn't watch 300 since last week, My personal opinon is that it should be in the top 10.

  • @lordleage It's alright son just respect others -but you will not find 300 in many of the lists -but you obviously enjoyed it and I respect that.

  • We watched all quiet on the western front in school. Good movie

  • i definetely agree with where saving private ryan and bravehart are, but i think "The Hurt Locker" should be #2

  • @jesusfreak2795 The Hurt locker is a awesome movie but it is not a movie with much war scene's like fighting on the battle field if you know what i mean....

  • Amazing song anyone know the name??

  • Stalingrad or Gettysburg could replace Bridge on the River Kwai

  • Good batch of movies. Not that I would have these all on my list, but this is subjective. It's all in the eye of the beholder.

  • very nice!

  • i feel like i just died....

  • WTF is this music?!!!!!!

  • forgot about downfall, for me it' s the first

  • Very good list. I like the different times the movies were made and chosen. Only two cents I can throw in is that Gettysburg should have replaced Glory. Other than that, good work.

  • heall yeah!! braveheart!!

  • oh yeah while i remember what about defiance ,shcindlers list etc

  • hmm apocalypse now rambling over rated crap, river kwai boring , come on how about, we were soldiers , to end all wars ,tigerland, bridge to far,red cliff ,hurt locker ,

  • Das Boot #1 period

  • black hawk down shoud be at least top 4

  • 1st world war should be number one for all time....period(s)

  • I would like to suggest "In which we serve" and "The Dambusters".. I think Private Ryan is highly over-rated sentimental hokum. But at least half the other would fall in my top ten.

  • Good list, but the first was so fucking dissapointment that i rip myself half.....aaaaargh. i hate that overrated shit...Yes the landings were cool on the big screen but the movie itself sucked hard and still too.....even HARDER...just an opinion, like an asshole, everyone has one...

  • This could be the greatest list on youtube. ... ROFL´ed

  • Tactical Mute Inbound...... XD

  • Name of the song??

  • @dragoonwarrior00 It's called, "La pinche cansion mas pinche pendeja para peliculas de gerra" By. !Puto el que creo este video"

  • @rafaelnk123 Mmmm that's rude the song is really nice and if we talk about genre there's other genres of music really low yet I don't came across them and post a mindless comment, if you don't like it don't litsen it. By the way "Muchos saludos y trata de no hacer comentarios que dejen nuestra raza de latinos o hispanos mal parados"

  • @dragoonwarrior00 1st. You were requesting a response, whether it's right or wrong. I.D.G.A.F@CK!!. 2nd. You didn't specified the terms for the answer. 3rd. This is the internet and you made an excellent point! soo if you don't like comments like this because you're too sensitive then don't freaking pay attention to them, move on...

  • @rafaelnk123 Haha quien habla, I request the name of the song not your punny answer and maybe you study for that and I don't care if you live in the states I didn't ask I just ask for the name of the song.

  • @dragoonwarrior00 Ok ok... The real name of the song is, "puto el que quiera saber el nombre de esta cancion". By, tu erres una perra llorona e ignorante y yo no tengo la culpa que te violo tu padre. Let me know if you need more info about the song...

  • @rafaelnk123 I don't want you to understand me Marica

  • @dragoonwarrior00 Oh that's super awesome! No kiero entender como le das cabeza a un borracho con sida. Slut.

  • Downfall ,Cross of iron, Braveheart, El Alamein, Talvisota, Stalingrad, All quiet on the western front, Bridge over the river kwai, Dirty Dozen, Saving private ryan.

  • You forgot Enemy at the Gates with Jude Law and Ralph Fiennes. All great war movies anyway.

  • @SebastianAnzorenaK

Its Joseph Fiennes in the role of the Commisar in ENEMY at the Gates

  • glory over das boot....

  • Comment removed

  • Cross of Iron , Gettysburg, Prvt Ryan, Black Hawk, bridge kwai, Apoco Now, Platoon, Lawrence of Arabia, Longest Day, Battle of the Bulge..... many many more very good movies

  • Apocalypse now, Stalingrad, Full Metal Jacket, Gettysburg, A Bridge Too Far, The Longest Day, Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down, Platoon, Lawrence of Arabia

Honorable mentions: Kelly's Heros, Braveheart, Kokoda

  • @wow5883 and Das boot

  • Zulu A Bridge Too Far.Waterloo. Henry V Gettysburg Zulu Dawn Come See Me (Russian) Das Boot Stalingrad Enemy at the gates. Rota 9 The list goes on. There is no best ten. The Russians have some magnificent war movies.

  • I'm a war veteran and while this captures 10 movies of combat and war it can never encompass many of the other movies out there about war, combat and loss. I'm appreciative of the attempt to sum up 10 movies that capture all of the movies showcasing combat, wars, battles and the suffering of those that have lost their life and those that have suffered seeing their brethren perish. Thanks for your efforts and putting forth the video.

  • fucking gay music

  • @malatyali4430 Its classical, poor classical I agree - but better than thrash metal shite which fucking Yanks put on too much of YouTiube.

  • Comment removed

  • para mim em primeiro lugar devia tar o 300

  • @Pimentel524 é um filme legal... pra quem gosta de ver homem pelado...

  • Saving Private Ryan as best movie? Oh my god... Where's Gods and Generals? Where is Gettysburg? Much better movies than Saving Private Ryan.

  • rambo?

  • Firebase Gloria with R. Lee Ermey is my favorite. He also played the Drill sgt. in Full Metal Jacket which was also a great war movie.

  • zulu?

  • All "Top Tens" are subjective. My top ten will differ from most others'. Nothing wrong with having an opinion. Just respect others'.

  • Braveheart is Legendary!!!

  • how isnt the battle of waterloo isnt in it and zulu?

  • @360newsANDreviews Agreed. Zulu should be above every single one of these

    Dismal choice.

  • were was Zulu, Das Boot and the battle of Britain

  • hey bro, what is name of that song pleas:)

  • Those films are all good. There is just too many good war films. You could have FMJ, 300, Enemy at the Gates, A Bridge too Far, to name just a few.

  • @juelzxxl LMFAO WORST LIST EVER, MOST OF THESE MOVIES ARENT EVEN WAR MOVIES FUCKTARD 12 year old cocksucker watch real war movies like saving privat ryan or platoon pussy

  • but what about 300 or Troy or Schindler's List?

  • this video was very well done. saving private ryan will always kick all other war movies in the dick.

  • come on guys ,.. this guy has his own opinion about which war movies are on his list.. same like you do. It's not the end of your life if he didn't put your favorite movies on his list.

  • what about We Were Soldiers

  • What about Battle Of Britain,

  • the platoon is the best,he is win this competition

  • black hawk down nr1

  • There are simply too many great war movies to declare any 10 the best. The Blue Max, Waterloo, Troy, Gettysburg, The Alamo, almost any Errol Flynn movie, Tora Tora Tora, the list is endless.

  • bitch... PLEASE, Pearl Harbour, ladies and gentlemen....

  • @AQA5G4RD1AN It's not a war film if they aren't fighting back

  • @MrMasterMind172 DUMBASS THEY DID IN DA AIR NIGGA STFU AND GET YO FACTS STRAIGHT

  • @ebayman2 Maybe you should get your spelling straight, idiot. You can't even explain how it is a war film correctly

  • @MrMasterMind172 WHO THE FUCK CARES FAGOT IDC ABOUT SPELLING HAHAHHAH AND PEARL HARBOR IS ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES ABOUT WAR BUT I THINK LETTERS TO IWO JIMA IS THE BEST

  • Comment removed

  • 9th Company

  • we were soldiers and flags of our fathers also the patreot

  • @Finnernboy11 patriot is a load of bollocks!!!

  • THE LIST is fair but you are missing arguably one if not the greatest war movie ever made: BONDARCHOUK'S WAR AND PEACE!!

I'd also place apocalypse now in the top 4

  • Absolutely agree on Lawrence of Arabia. Dirty Dozen exceeded my level of disbelief almost immediately. The 300 is kidstuff, more cartoon then war movie. Some others to consider are "In Which We Serve". "The Story of GI Joe". and "The Duelist's". Patton was Great, but the all American equipment on both sides kind of bummed me out.

  • In the current political climate here, it's pointless to imagine HBO doing any war series it can't blame on Republicans. What a dilemma for Hollywood. Two decades of war and heroism, and they can't do much with it. Because they think the bad guys in all this are the same people they need to watch the show.

  • Most accurate cinematic experiences I have ever had of war were both of the HBO's mini-series Band of Brothers and The Pacific. Hurry up and reflect the war in North Africa, as it is pointless in harbouring hopes of HBO representing any theatre of WW2 that American forces were not directly present in (the war in the East needs more accurate cinematic representation, well as accurate as movies can get). Historians (not researchers) and directors should work together more- created HBO's success.

  • Lawrence of Arabia????

  • Where are "The Dirty Dozen???"

  • Yikes! Forgot Zulu which has to be in anybody's top ten, and near the top. So my personal list is revised. Put "Zulu" in and drop out "12 O'Clock High".

  • Agree with "All quiet on the Western Front" and "Saving Private Ryan" on both ends. Disagree with everything else. In no particular order my list would be "The Four Feathers" 1939 version "The Seven Samurai" "Battleground" "Das Boot" "Full Metal Jacket" "Gettysburg" "Last of the Mohican's" 1992 Version "12 O'Clock High"

  • why isnt 300 on this

  • dude you had awesome selections, BUT, you did forget one of THE BEST war movies of all time, which was Band of Brothers.

  • Comment removed

  • wuff wuff, wuff wuff wuff

  • Kellys heroes-best war film ever, simples

  • Where the fuck is Immortal Yi Soon Shin and The divine weapon?

The Patriot 9) Tuskegee Air Men 10.)Jar Head and not in that order all these movies are pure classics especially The Kingdom Of Heaven
  • 1black hawk down

    2samurai x

    3saving ryan

    4platoon

    5aliens

    6star wars clone wars

    7apocalypto

    8independence day

    9fmj

    10tears of the sun

  • Great movies all. And a very tough job to pick the top 10 out of all the movies out there. If those weren't in my top ten they would be in the top 20 for sure!

  • WHERE THE FUCK IS BLACK HAWK DOWN???????????

  • @TheTotalRyan number 8........

  • I suppose its all a question of what you want in a war movie. To me they should be exciting, historically accurate, and show both the glory and the pain that is war. On that basis I agree with the suggestions others have put forward of "Tora Tora Tora", "Gettysburg" and "Zulu". I'd also put forward "Waterloo" and "A Bridge too far". I'd take off "The Longest Day" (basically a series of vignettes) and "Braveheart" (too one-sided).
