  • nice grooves. have you checked out "future sounds"? if you haven't already i think you'd really enjoy that book. based around linear funk grooves with accents.

  • thanks ill def. check it out, when i have the means to aquire it, who is the author?

  • david garibaldi is the author. you'll have a great a time with it. plus you're already using similar ideas so might find his ideas easy to incorporate into your playing.

  • Nice Groove man!

Just relax and let it flow instead of forcing it.

And if you cant already learn to play it slow and precise and it will help your technique.

Hey Check out some of my drum videos and give me tips and suggestions on my playing...

    thanks man

  • I wouldn't worry about quieting your ghost notes. As long as you're conscious of dynamics, that's all that matters. It's all relative to the way you want to hear and/or play the groove--if you're hearing more prominent, on-point/louder ghosts, then that's what you shall play!

Noless, I'm a big fan of these "broken", turnaround shuffles. I like!

  • i want to get a pearl reference brass snare, that has a tighter sound and is sharper and more pronounced than my snare, thus the grooves would sound better and clearer

  • yo, its could be cool but i think its a bit messy at the moment. You could try making the ghost notes alot quieter, so the back beat floats over the top and grooves nicley, if you see what i mean. At the end of the day the only thing that really matters is Groove.

  • ahuh :-0 thanks ill def. work on making my ghost notes quieter
