    Why is a 70,000$ corvette z06 being compared to 1,700,000$ car? Even the lingenfelter version which is not even 200,000 shouldnt be compared. The Lingenfelter is faster in every way though. But still why compare to the veyron its not even the fastest. SSC Ultimate Aero. Plus the veyron looks like my dog shit in a fire somebody took it out and put wheels on it. Its a quad turboed W16 that gets ripped by a Twin Turbo V8 LS series engine (Aero). Or a fully built LS7.

  • @Zo6CorvetteZR1 I love vettes to death, speaking of, HOB's blown vette has got to be the sickest one I've seen next to RPM's. But you can't compare a fully built TT Z06 that still isn't as fast top speed wise to a Stock Veyron.

    And just so you know A z06 won't hit 0-60 in anything like that except on slicks on a sticky drag strip. Nor would it stop from 200 as fast, or stop as consistently.. or do anything as consistently for that mater lol.

    actually i agree with almost everything you said. the top speed is estimated higher, but no one really drives that fast because you hit a pebble and your car will flip lol. Also i did not start that argument only finished it. but neither car is actually gonna perform to there full potential on the road, there are to many variables im not retarded i know those are not street times those were done with slicks, straight pipe, and on a strip, doesnt change the fact that the vette wins

  • @wdowa94 i hope ur kidding!!! how can you see the rpm gauge anyways?? And I shifted into 5th gear at about 275-280KPH, and 5th gear goes all the way to 375 if you're car can push to that speed, hence the low rpm at 300KPH, but damaged speedo? you gotta do some homework.

  • @camirocz It's in KM/H not MP/H. 300 Kph = about 170mph or so. Even with a supercharger that car isn't going to hit 300mph. Much less like that.

    On reasonably low boost I don't see a problem. Might not handle what the LS9 could, but still enough to be crazy.

Sure it seems way to quick to be realistic, probably on a dyno or something since we can't see out the front, but possible. I've set the digital speedo on my bike to Kph on accident before. It climbs way faster and seems unreal.

  • Like i was trying to say. The LS7 was never meant to be super/turbo charged. The cylinder walls themselves are quite narrow, all in the name of weight saving. My tech-friend also has seen supercharged LS7 engines, and has equally seen those same engines, either get damaged or blow due to stress to portions of the engine not built for the extra boost. Besides your video just shows the speedo moving... maybe you're going down a steep hill ? so many variables we're not seeing

  • @alyousuf He is right about heavy forced induction. Now if you put on a paxton/vortec supercharger and run under 12lbs of boost you're going to be fine. It's the guys that go over 15lbs on a stock bottom end or over 25 on a forged low comp bottom end that will run into cylinder wall flexing.

  • Sorry i dont hang around CorvetteForum and listen to the talkers. I talk to GM Engineers, techs, and to people that have vettes and mod them and so on, so i dont JUST talk to the engineers and take their word as gospel. I have a friend that is a service tech at a GM dealership. He also does some work with a Corvette-specialty shop. Considering he works and has worked with corvettes for 30+ yrs and knows his stuff, i'll side with him a little faster then some guy who posts a video on youtube

  • It also helps that i work with GM, and I speak with a lot of the tech engineers and so on. Believe me, i've asked the question regarding supercharging/turbocharging the LS7 engine many times.

  • @3O2MuStAnG the LS7 might have a high static compression ratio, but dynamic compression ratio isnt that high - to an extent. The car was running 5psi of boost, it had a Vortech centrifugal SC and made about 615rwhp.

  • why don't i see this engine being pushed to 1000hp? a 3L 2jz supra engine can manage 1400hp but why does this 7L engine only manage around 700hp with a turbo

    To end this damn dick measuring contest... The ZR1 is faster then the GTR. The GTR is more technological though. The ZR1 has 638 BHP - RWD Vs the GTR which has 480 BHP - Going to awd which is more power loss. The Zr1 is also about 500lbs lighter. The Zr1 weighs 3350 vs the GTR which weighs (BASE) 3800.

    This Z06 is probably not, but this would not have been my poweradder of choice.

    Now if i was trying to set a record run for my car, I wouldnt be doing it on a crappy road with no traction, this video was just for fun, not for official comparisons whatsoever.

    Now with just the measly sub 5PSI of boost, if the car just had a blower cam (ZR1 cam), and 3.73 - 3.90 gears instead of the 3.42 it would have destroyed the P800

    All I know is in perfect conditions, theres probably a 0.5second win to the GTR from a vette that has 100 less RWHP.

    ignore ignorant people. The GTR was made for overall racing ability. It is very fast in a straight line, but drag racing was not what it was designed for. It's handling and grip is not matched by any car out there. Even if other car's lateral G-Force is higher, the computers in GTR make it handle like no other car.

    There is no doubt that a corvette could beat a GTR in a straight line and there is no doubt that a GTR is faster around the Nurburgring.

    dude relax here... i absolutely love the viper 2nd fav car. to my knowledge the only viper that beat the zr1 was the acr which really isn't a stock car. and it beat it by only milliseconds which could be argued as driver error, acr 7:22.1 zr1 7:22.4... the acr is technically a stock car but it really is not in my opinion i mean without radio, speakers, amplifier, trunk carpet, & more how is that stock. lol. price dude really? viper is 90g zr1 is 92g acr is more than stock viper.

    Wrong on the 0-60 MPH time, but whatever. The GT-R gets anywhere from 3.2 to 3.5 seconds depending on the reviewer, while the ZR01 gets 3.4 to 3.6. It is faster on the 1/4 mile, though. But that doesn't matter, to be honest: the GT-R costs $20,000 more. They're not competing against each other (never were meant to, actually).

    The GT-R competes with the Z06, not the ZR1.

    2nd of all, I did miss shift 2nd if yu read properly, I let OFF the throttle to ease into 2nd, theres 1+ second lost there.

    3rd, this car makes 100 LESS rwhp than the P800 or whatever its called, so do the maths.

  • Not all that bad of an idea in the US. People here just take their big junky gas guzzlers, get in the fast lane and go 90 mph in a 55 mph double fine construction zone. The only way to make them stop though would probably be a governed speed of the exact speed limit. Might happen some day in the future.
