  • this was wasted on karl this wouldve of made a fucking hell of an april fools

  • As soon as i heard Ricky talk about the crabs in geometric formations, presumably because they were ingesting silicon, i thought, "bullshit" Then the story just gets more and more absurd. I love Karl but you would have to be brain dead to believe that nonsense.

  • Crabsassins Creed.

  • You can tell Ricky's lying because he's swallowing every 5 seconds.

  • I believed the crab one until they mentioned downloading memories. :P

  • I believed the crab one for a minute. Sounded really cool.

  • I think people on here are forgetting: he's their friend you're not his friend, so you might think it's harsh but you're not his friend they are. I can think of loads of stuff I done to my friends which people would deem harsh

  • @32wallace it's only the fact that they did it while he was being filmed for a new job that i find too harsh

  • @32wallace i'm annoyed because i believed the first story as well

  • Ricky is so fucking shit at explaining things

  • yeah new england! screw the old one.

  • KARL OWNED ! loved this !

  • So THAT'S how they found Bin Laden, it wasn't the Americans, it was the SpyCrabs!

  • Where did this happen?? Anyone know where the article is?? I have no read about this.

  • SPYCRABS?, GENTLEMEN!

  • the first time karl ever realy finds something amazing that ricky has told him and its a stich lool poor karl i bet he was gutted it wasnt true

  • Would most people really believe the crab story? If so I'm pretty disapointed, he might as well have just said crabs ate a computer chip, and this made them inteligent and allowed people to download information from thier brain ..

  • To paraphrase Ricky in previous episode when Karl said his doctor said he was gonna die: I'm not being funny, but if he'd've told me that, I would've known he was joking.

  • i dont care about karl... i hate it when steve is bullied though. x

  • Poor Carl. Ricky and Steve are such a holes sometimes! But I still love em. I do think they did put a little more work into this than it was worth though.

  • Spy crabs lol!!! "I never really was on your side" *cigarrette flick*

  • Although I don't think what Rick and Steve did was 'cruel', I still believe this to be one of their unfunniest recorded moments, it was just too long winded and not great. The same goes for Karl's second interview on the DVD, was just a bit boring after a while. Still love these guys though dont get me wrong

  • I was heartbroken, I was excited by the crab thing.

  • Karl is only a skeptic if it's Ricky and Steve telling him the story. Otherwise, he would be telling those stories himself :)

  • these are obviously bollocks but I can believe a lot of people would believe stuff like this. It's like semi-plausible sci-fi type material

  • Ricky almost laughed when he said "spy crabs" hahahaha

  • Comment removed

  • I actually felt bad for Karl when they started laughing...they really annoyed me with this one.

  • @batrama310 same here, doing it on the day he's being interviewed for a new job in front of some potential new employers is just out of order. and when karl said the second story was made up they should have accepted that he knew straight away

  • if i was ricky i would be laughing while trying to tell the crab story to karl ......

  • Fuck sake i started believing the crab story.

  • Woo top song they played in the middle! I'm actually listening to The Cure - Disintegration inbetween listening to these lol :D

  • I think Karl has a bit of natural suspicion against anything these guys start to say because they spend so much time trying to humiliate him, but you know from all the stuff he says that he is capable of believing a lot of complete nonsense.

  • Silicon is absolutely not a "carbon derivative" as Ricky said. They are two entirely different elements, atomic numbers 6 and 14. They are in the same group on the Periodic Table; perhaps that was what Ricky meant to have said, although who knows.

  • @jdepps13 I think what Ricky meant there was that, like life on earth is carbon based, scientists think on a different planet, under different circumstances, lifeforms could be based on silicon. I have heard that. But yeah, he didn't explain it well, and said so much jargon that a lay-person would not be able to distinguish it from actual science. I thought it was chap of him to just lie to someone, and then say they are the gullible ones.

  • babies...being able to be born....without 'aving any people involved...

  • Ok, with the crab thing, just because a lot of people would believe it doesn't mean its plausible. Downloading crabs' memories, because they ate silicon?

  • The way to fool someone with something like this is to use a lot of detail. Details that don't matter. Things like "I was around 4 o'clock... no, wait. it was after 4 because Gilmore Girls was on." Do things like that, you'll fool anyone.

  • All Ricky needs to do to make Karl believe him is to mention anything slightly scientific. For example he says C0H, Bio Interface and what ever the hell he says at 2:24 and then Karl is hooked...

  • And people say Ricky Gervais can't act! I'd be pissing myself as soon as the words "spy crab" came out

  • poor karl, ricky and steve know how karl knows little but wants to learn more and so they played on it, they even went into genetic details for crying out loud, lol, poor karl

  • Downloading past relatives memories? What is this assassins creed? lol

  • Poor effort fellas

  • 'theres something about babies being able to be born without having any people involved, its like putting em in an oven or something.....and its a cake.............and after a certain amount of time its ready....'

this is probably my new favourite quote of all time

  • at 7:34, Steve claims the baby had a beard. genius.

  • To be fair to Karl, the crab 'fact' is one of those that is so banal that you wouldn't see any point in it being made up, so you accept it. Ricky sort of missed the point with that one.

  • @starsky51 Yep, the crab one, while far fetched, is almost plausible. A lot of people would believe that if they were told it.

Plus it was really mean of Rick and Steve to embarrass Karl when Karl was auditioning for his MTV gig.

  • @BlackDollarBills

You would have to be a complete moron to believe a story like that.

  • @starsky51

It's not that banal. If it had turned out to be true, it would change everything about how we understand biology.

  • @starsky51 how would you possibly accept the crab thing as true...

  • Haha Im so stupid! the title of this is gullibility and yet I forgot this and started trying to google search about the craps LOL. blonde!

  • @Marmitefrog LOL

  • @charliechutney Karl is for real. There are many times where he plays up or exaggerates for comedic effect, this is not one of them.

  • @BlackDollarBills Sorry, mate, absolutely 100% disagree. I've listened to it again, in case I was being harsh - and I'm not. At 3:30, when Karl says "Jeez", it couldn't be clearer to me that he's pretending to not get it. It's as clear as crystal. It's as clear as a tropical reef. In fact it's clearer than a crystal glass vase at the bottom of a transparent coral reef on the tropical Virgin Islands.

  • @charliechutney What are you going on about? BlackDollarBills is blatently right. Not only does Karl pretend to not understand it, but if you listen, he actually shows understanding and starts to ask logical questions. So i dont know where youre gettting your ideas from.

  • @doylem101 You're not making sense. Please resend your message without the contradictions, so I can respond.

  • @charliechutney I'm sorry but who the fuck are you? How do you know he is acting? Have you had years of experience in psychology and you just know when someone is lying? Mong.

  • @LukeGriffths121 Sadly for you, babyface, I'm the person who's right, while you're all wrong. Too gullible, you people. You'll believe anything if it's got a mic in front of it. And yes, I have got years of experience in psychology - I watch people every day!

Btw, word of advice, don't publish your real name and age on the internet - it makes you easier to trace.

  • @charliechutney You're the person who's right? I'm sorry but you have are the one who has to prove something, which you are failing at. No proof, no proof at all. Stop being a cunt. You have years of experience yeah? Then why are you such a shit reader of people?

  • @LukeGriffths121 So, personal beliefs require a public proving?? I think you've got YT mixed up with a court of law. We have differing opinions - live with it. Or are you so insecure, a contrary opinion has brought you to doubt yourself? The alienated youth of today, self-barricaded in their bedrooms, nurtured by Nirvana and comic books while bravely insulting others from the safety of the ether, but who would shit a tenfold of bricks if said others came banging on their front door one day....

  • @charliechutney But opinions don't matter, it is either fact that Karl Pilkington is Karl Pilkington or it is fact that Karl Pilkington isn't Karl Pilkington. It isn't an opinion, Karl Pilkington IS Karl Pilkington. You think you know me? Bravely insulting you? What are you fucking talking about? What so you want to fight about it do you? Pathetic.

  • @charliechutney WOW! you really need to stop over analyzing everything and just enjoy Karl. Karl has laughed twice :-) of course he sometimes plays up to his stupidity but his genuinely a gullible person, even before he was famous during his XFM days he was the same. Lighten up a bit ;-).

  • @charliechutney My uncle worked with karl at xfm for a year, he is like that but hes very quiet so it took a long time til my uncle knew how stupid he was. One time he was talking to karl about world war 2 and karl didnt knew we were involved.

  • @Rawc90 The trouble is, I have a workmate just like Karl, which is why I'm so convinced KP is fake. My workmate says silly things that he knows winds me up, just like Karl does. Don't get me wrong, I love Karl, I think he's really funny, at least some of the time, but I'm not convinced for one minute he's 100% genuine. Have you noticed he NEVER laughs? What person never laughs? It's mostly an act and no-one will convince me otherwise.

  • @charliechutney "and no-one will ever convince me"

I'm not trying to convince you - just wanna tell you how wrong you are ;P

He laughs on MANY occasions - monkey prostitute, christmas rockbusters,

karls story about his dad bringing grannies home on the bus from bingo, and

many more i can't place exactly.

Karl does his best to be professional. E.g. In the monkey prostitute

monkey news he seems surprised to say "thats the first time i've ever laughed on air".

  • @charliechutney To take this so seriously suggests that you haven't got a life.

  • @charliechutney I love these guys to pieces, and I think this clip is funny as hell, but yeah - you're right.

  • @charliechutney You're a fucking simpleton if you think for one second Karl is manufactured. I've met him, trust me, he really is that stupid. Lovely fella though.

  • @baldwin471 haha yeah i don't think these people understand how karl is because they have grown up in a place so different to him with normal parents and siblings. with karls family and surroundings its no wonder he ended up the way he is XD

  • @BlackDollarBills I love him for it though :L He wouldn't be Karl if he was normal. Also he looks like Oliver the Humanzee

  • how on earth did ricky not laugh.

  • hahaha too funny
