  • I really wish I wasn't 3 years old in 1985. This is fucking amazing.

  • The riff is so hard to play on guitar...

  • @BanthaPoodoo94 The main riff? Not if your alternate picking is steady

  • Finally! I can learn this song by ear without any distractions ;D

  • Metal Rock METALLLLL!!!

  • do you know if gh pulled these tracks from the original analog source tracks from the 85 album?

  • Cliff Burton wrote the intro check the book if you dont believe me. That's a bass player playing classical guitar, and doing pretty damn good at it!! HELL YEAH (DEVIL HORNS!!!)

  • 3:05 this part takes me to a different world!

  • @Footballist2011 yeah , that's just amazing, reminds me of Hesher

  • @gaindarom haha yea dude. get high and listen to that part, it's like your brain makes some sort of images and you can literaly see the notes play. it was crazy last nite lmfao

  • guitar alone sounds faster

  • can you make the call of ktulu bass track?

  • Drit bra sang :D

  • two people were burned badly....

  • where can i get the riff of the back guitar when the solo?

    p.s.: an awesome riff

  • @disciplinethug work out the picking pattern but the chords Emaj Amaj Gmaj F#maj

  • @LockyTheRocker yes,yes I know how to play it, I just wanna hear the master track alone

  • this is such an awesome riff, and its even better with cliffs bass. because guitar+no bass=plastic instead of metal

  • IMO, this is one of the most badass guitar riff ever done.

  • i'm fairly sure motorbreath is the fastest song (BPM) correct me if i'm wrong

  • 3:07 is the beggining of one huge orgasm.......

  • this video makes the solo sound CRAZY as fuk, this is awsome!!

  • Actually, the studio recordings for albums are now entirely done by Kirk. Especially on the last few albums.

  • @LightningStickmanBob

wrong, actually... wasn't until LOAD that Kirk started even recording his own guitar sound for his side of rhythm, it's always been James. James has always been the mastermind and learned about dual harmonies from Cliff. Even for the Mission Metallica video recordings for Death Magnetic you see James doing mostly everything, even playing some rhythm spots with Kirk's guitar....

  • @imisterchris he wrote the second riff of master of puppets, and the die part of creeping death, as well as riffs from trapped under ice

  • @Metallica42497 kirk did write some metallica riffs in the old days but james recorded them

  • @imisterchris You sir, are right! They did that for both Load And ReLoad. Not sure Garage Inc. I knwo they went back to normal in Death Magnetic.

  • @MrCherryKush they recorded separate guitar parts for the "newer" song on garage inc. the first disc..

  • @metallicapat It's pretty simple, James writes and plays all the guitar parts except for Kirk's leads (eg 2:40) james also writes and plays the dual harmonies (eg 3:05). the only parts kirk records in the studio are his leads and fills, but of course when playing live, kirk plays the high notes of the dual harmonies.

  • @slantyrock i thought kirk played the lower parts of the harmonies? i might be mistaking but im not 100% sure

  • @1986kirkhammettfan1 Well yeah, lower as in, lower on the fret board, but he plays the higher notes.

  • @slantyrock oh haha my bad i understand now lol

  • @1986kirkhammettfan1 :) easy mistake to make man

  • @metallicapat i fail to understand... kirk does all da solos and major parts of the harmonies...

  • Dang !!!

  • 3:06

I just love that harmony part. Interesting but really reminds me of black sea region of Turkey's classic musical harmonies.

  • ah good old hammet. b4 he got all crazy with the freaking wah

  • @jadeedgesigma

    haha, WIN!!

  • @jadeedgesigma he's used wah on every album they've made lol. he used it in this solo too. It's just when he started un-ryhtymically stomping on it that it started sounding like shit

  • Is this the fastest metallica song? If not correct me, please lol

  • @omnipotent1995 actually battery, dyers eve and my apocalypse are faster. This is however is the perfect blend of speed and heaviness.

  • @chestus12 and Metal Militia is faster than all 4

  • @rocafella142 ya it's fast but I meant in terms of actual bpm

  • @chestus12 oh i gotcha...yea metal militia is the fastest riff but yea those have faster bpm

  • @omnipotent1995 (i'm a bit late but) whiplash

  • @omnipotent1995 Dyers Eve?

  • @omnipotent1995 tal vez batery o damage inc son mas rapidas

    pero por muy poco

  • @omnipotent1995 this, disposable heroes, and battery.

  • @omnipotent1995 my apocolypse is faster.

  • @omnipotent1995 If I'm 100% correct, the fastest song in Metallica catalogue is the fastest because it's over 200 BPM

  • @omnipotent1995 Damage inc and Trapped under ice

  • @omnipotent1995 probably they couldn't anything faster at that time :P and then came anthrax, slayer, kreator, destruction ;D

  • how do you do that man?

  • My fav part 0:00-4:52

  • Iit's because of those very harmonies at 3:08 that make Metallica just the best metal band there has ever been, that shit just takes your mind somewhere else.

  • monster riffs by James, he is a fucking god

  • 1:07 HOW did they ever think of that? its sick!

  • @Garcia148

I always think that when I listen to it, it can still throw me off to this very day!!

  • Is there anyway i can just download the music?

  • Goddamn that harmony starting at 304 is fucking extraordinary!

  • Epic dude!!! Do you have trapped under ice anywhere? I love that song!!!

  • dude this is awsome. the harmanizer in the solo is fuckin awsome

  • Fucking Amazing!!!! 3:06 - 3:27

  • i can hear bass perfectly in the into. meh. otherwise, not bad

  • this IS THRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dude those fucking harmonies are legendary man, no one can get close to that type of guitar ingenuity these days

  • 0:46 made me cream my pants.

  • @ScrewLimbBizkit You have the best name ever.

  • 46 seconds holy shit that's the fucking heaviest, fastest riff I have ever heard.

  • it's nice to hear the harmony without the rhythm. so epic!

  • haha, in the begining i can hear the bass, but its still awesome

  • @SlimJim583 first thing i thought of too. because i'm so cool

  • metal orgasm @ that post verse riff!

    simply genius \m/

  • UPLOAD "AM I EVIL"? PLEASE.

  • green cover, apparently during the printing of some of the records back in the day there was a mess up with the colur and some greens where made instead of blue, very rare.

  • yeah a guy at a Record show wanted 100 Dollars for it. I have it on Tape. so i wasnt about to spend that much money on just a misprint. so thats my Question to people here

would you spend 100 Dollars on this Green cover LP? IF it was back in 1988-91 i might have

  • I've got a green one on my wall

  • how do u rip it from guitar hero?

  • First song I ever tried on guitar...far too fucking fast! But i kept at it, because I loved the harmony so much!!Now 5 years later I get such a strong feeling of nostalgia when playing it.

  • lol thats awesome...i woulda recommended for whom the bell tolls to you back then hahaha...but good for you...and ya i absolutely love the harmony too i got to see them play it live last month!

  • i want to get a guitar so fucking bad

  • you can buy a squier, there pretty cheap like 150 bucks or less.

  • AWESOME!

The riff is heavy and fast...Perfect

    In two words: fuckin genial!

  • @Lapt3qC3r3al3 and simple

  • the solo sound even better!!!

  • the solo is FRIGGIN AMAZING!!

  • Cliff wrote the intro

  • 3:06 - 3:28 is awesome, it's like my favourite part in a song ever!

  • just one of metallica's many great harmonies!

  • No the best!

  • awesome

  • Man listen to that awesome wall of noise! What a sound! Great to piss the neighbors off! Good Stuff.

  • yeah

  • @polychomaticzena why would you piss your neighbors off no reson -.-

  • how u get the tracks from game???

  • You rip them via cables and recording programs.

  • @norwaydude95 would you consider doing it for to live is to die?

  • Everything about this video is win! even the album art!

  • i should of been like that in the first place the artwork

  • it*

  • how useful is this for people trying to tab it out perfectly

  • yeah, it certainly helped me a lot. I'm pretty sure tons of other people think so.

  • @norwaydude95 these backing tracks help me when i can't distinguish a riff or a strumming pattern over Lars' kick-ass drum beats

  • hell ya. this was quintessential in helping me get the right notes on the solos, harmony, and even some little parts in the riffs that the tabs failed to catch. depending on the song, most tabs are no where near perfect and are just the author's interpretation. but this is the original, it's just... well... as best as it gets. :D

  • For me too!
