They sound alot like Tony Terry. It's very sexual and obviously very derivative of "Mercedes." The best thing about it actually are the vocals which for pop is good. The very concept behind the song is a good one too. But it just doesn't have the relentless "drive" of the original, especially the remix. "Mercedes" is Pebs signature song and you can only top, or just equal for that matter, a classic w/another classic.
oh, my cd is called "Unconditional" by Mr Jones.. there you can find the jazz version of funny feeling, its on itunes, rhapsody, just google mr jones!!
thanks for all the positive comments on our song.. means alot, I did a smooth jazz remake of the song "Funny Feeling" with was written by Marvin Ennis of the band Starpoint.. the members of maniquin are still vital in the industry, I was the keyboardist, ( in th middle, green suit) since then Ive toured and worked with Usher, toni braxton, new edition, tevin campbell, Janet Jackson, to name a few, Kenny and I see each other out here in los angeles from time to time
...thanks for sharing the inside story! I actually bought the album on the strength of this song (and my crush on Ms. McKissack!) Tell Kenny I said wassup!

i apreciate you being a fan of the song, .. Kenny was our 21 yr old protege', very green with our already established band ( the top in wash dc for the past 5 years) the background vocals were shared by us all, Kenny sang lead, NOT EVERYTHING, we were an exceptional ,self contained band, so impressed was charlie that members of the band(not kenny) were flown to the bahamas to record on gap bands next record. verses were written by us all in the studio hallway in 30 mins, oh,i played keyboards
Actualy Charlie did the tracks, the lyrics were written by Maniquin, guitar solo by David News. the song was an answer to Mercedes boy, but record was released almost 2 years after we recorded it. kinda late for an answer song. how do I know, I was there. I am the bassist for Maniquin
