@jkadvices that's the directors cut version, the studio wanted a more upbeat hollywood ending for the cinematic cut. in raimis head, evil dead 3 ended in the future yes. but honestly even though it's only about 71 minutes long i think the cinematic cut is the superior film. at 90 minutes, the original cut is full of unnecessary padding and the apocalyptic ending is just completely random.

@laphin I can't speak for the release you got, but the UK DVD release I got (a good few years ago now) had both the Theatrical version and the Directors Cut on separate disks, which was great for compare and contrast.
