  • @ThunderAppeal , yeh there is a difference in Hp, most US power is meassured on a Dynojet, most Australian power is meassured on a Dyno Dynamics, they have a 13% difference as a rule, if this thing was meassured on a Dynojet it would read well over 1100Hp at the wheels.

  • @samkactus Since you guys have a long history with GM RWD that have independent rear suspension, how is the durability overall compared to the european marques? For a while it seemed that the GTOs were breaking half shafts and rear differential housings in drag races. I am not personally familiar but this is based on what I've read, of course drag racing isnt day to day driving. But I'm curious how they hold up over the long haul.

  • @ThunderAppeal if you are using them for normal driving they have few maintance issues even at high hp's. VE's are completely different to the GTO but similar ok the maintance side.

  • Typically to get 1000 hp/ 750kilowatts at the rears you would need to produce at least 1200 hp 900kilowatts under the bonnet.

    Drive line loss is approximately 20% given the running gear is in good condition, to test accurately you really need to remove the motor and test it separately however thats about the typical standard

    Who cares anyway you can only drive at 110 on the road , I would imagine this beast would make that in 1st gear. I wouldnt last 5 minutes in it without losing my licence

  • @BrianDewy Need to take it to Ehra-Lessen in Germany and see if it can outrun the Veyron top speed as that car is heavier, the gearing could finish it though.

  • @aussieeagle2512 dude a piece of shit commodore would fall apart at that speed, a Veyron is in a class of its own , a Commodore is just a Holden, the Aero package wouldn't allow speeds like that Id reakon the guards would fall off it. In saying that though I was surfing You Tube and found a Camaro in Germany which is 1400hp which was clocked at 420kph, so maybe it could go thats fast

The motor set me back $30 000, and makes at the wheels 419.8 kw and 900ftlb of torque...Is that good????????

  • VE's are great with screw blowers as they lack bottem end and always have. If you arn't going to go screw then you may as well turbo the engine rather than running a centrifugal. Sure there are minor heat issues to consider but better end result.

    If you have to go centrifugal perhaps try the Rotrex which are more responsive (less lag) than the CAPA units or Prochargers. End of the day if you can't put the power down no use having it, no matter how much fun toasting the hides can be.

  • Depends how much you get to use the full power, as a rule it does not change the engine life.
