I`ve had one for years, I had to make a new piece that pushes down on the tire, the original one was too weak I usuallly only use it to break down the bead, I use tire irons and a deadblow hammer to get the tire off. Thats the way I learned to do it. Sometimes the bead will just not blow up for you, My remedy for that is to spray some carb cleaner inside the tire, spray a trail off the tire and then light it. Boom! Instant bead lock.
How are these machines on light truck & SUV tires? Got a Horbor Freight down the street. I'm NOT paying $20.00 per tire to swap my brand new truck tires to my SUV! It's been eatin away at me.. thinking about paying 160 bucks! Thanks for this vid! I don't mind a little intensive labor to save alot of money. Bolt that sucker to the floor!
I read that soap is lye and corrodes aluminum too much if used with water to mount tires, and that alu rims break easy and get scratched where rubber bead meets metal.
lol wow when filling the tire up to pop the bead lol take the f'n core out and then fill it up...when it pops feel the air...i guess i have been doing it a long time but the trick is to feel how fast its comming out....i usually get it between 30 40 psi then put it back in quickly it only taks one turn to hold alot of pressure but when its tight its good....this guy needs to put the HILTY GUN and bolt that stand somewhere.....o and maby upgrade so the rims live threw the ordeal..lol
The first tire I dismounted was a rim bolted to a stump so my HF changer made life much easier. Here's a couple more tips- with changer bolted down and beads lubed with real tire lube, use the goofy end of the bar to roll the beads onto the rim. It works pretty slick once you get the hang of it (and to crowbar nessesary)
Then when you air up the tire give it LOTS of pressure to help seat the beads. Then, as the air is rushing out quickly screw in your valve core. Check with gauge and bleed of pressure until you're down to desired PSI. I use a HF bubble balancer that works pretty good as long as there are no breezes. It's a good idea to recheck the balance once you've attached your weights. You'd be surprised at how it can change! I envy your weight tool though- sure beats my hammer and screwdriver!
Nice ass crack, might I suggest a belt.

You don't even need that thing. Save yourself $50.00 get a good crowbar and a bolt of soap water

Maybe it would help if you bolt the changer to the floor. Then you will not have to restle with it so much.
