If you hear this song without hearing their first record it seems cheerful, but had you heard the first, it has become apparent that darker times have fallen on our pal "Manuel". (the band's name comes from the fawlty towers character, Manuel's explanation for screw ups, for those unfamiliar with the band.) Still, despite those getting dissappointed by the sudden despondency here (even in this song), it does manage to grow on you, if this huge band concept is your thing as much as mine

About Manuel, I think it's more Basil Fawlty's explanation for the Spaniard's misfortunes, with his classic "Excuse him, he's from barcelona. It would be cheaper to train a monkey" :)

Manuel's use of English would be limited to "¿Qué?". Yes, I said English :)

A fat man in an elevator playing the clarinet in his skivies, absolutely brilliant! To me this really shows how the world's economy is too dependant on oil and how western civilization is spoiling age old customs and cultures, or whatever the hell you read into these pseudo artsy pretentious lyrics lol I'm afrad that it's now my mission to personaly kidnap and sterilize every member of this half baked idea of a "band" for the good of talented musicians the world over; OLE!!

to be honest i expected a bit more from the song. the video is cool and the song definitely better than a lot more indie/twee-productions but in my opinion not as great as older ifb-songs
