  • NNNOOOO I LEARNED THIS SONG, BUT INCORRECTLY, SO MY TEACHER'S GONNA TEACH IT TO ME AGAIN AFTER I FINISH CHOPIN'S MINUTE WALTZ, BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT, I'M THIRTEEN, AND I'M BEATEN BY A TEN YEAR OLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... At least he's 16-17 right now...BUT HE'S STILL BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!...and my teacher believes I can get into a minor for piano in college when I can't beat a ten year old even if he's like a prodigy...

  • omg george is truly amazing.. i remember i learned & played this in concert when i was 13 but couldn't play it at this tempo because even with 2 hours of daily practice it's just SO TOUGH to hit every note with precision (especially the right hand, as you have seen) with such speed! george played this piece like it was just a warm up for him haha

  • 39 people clicked this by mistake thinking it was some sort of European porn! IDIOTS! This is genius!

  • he plays violin too wtf

  • Now play it backwards with one hand >:D

  • Haha, he's look like older

  • I'm learning this song and I'm 13! Beat that @stupidzhangjiayi and George is actually over 16 at the moment, I searched a bunch of songs played by him and the oldest I saw him was 16 :P...but this also shames me since I'm 13 and he was 10...(* ^ *);

  • @christianchoi1 hey im 13 and i produce trance lol try producing w the computer its fun!

  • Father: yes yes yes, technically it is fine and i can hear it... but i cant FEEL it

  • Even with the amazing accuracy, he plays with the maturity of an adult pianist.

  • IS THAT A VIOLIN BACK THERE?!?!/

    MAN THIS KID IS CRAZY!!!!!

(typical asian parent "good now play it backwards")

  • 40 people couldn't play Mary Had A Little Lamb when they were 10

  • he's asian

  • @roxhawet11 Your point? It's not like this talent was natural, he had to work his ass off. Don't assume so much and take everything for granted.

  • @samsungisahottie

agree, I'm Asian too but all hell will break loose if I can play that piece hhaha since that's nealy impossible..

It's not just because of where he came from or if he was born talent, but hard work and perseverance and training are essential to achieve this talent..:)

  • Lol, well played :) It was far too bangy for my liking, but, he's 10, so kudos :D

  • Amazing!

I am glad do meet you.

    Hugs from Brasil.

    lucianohortencio.

  • he also plays violin. (case under piano xD)

  • To anyone who has the reaction that they feel "shamed" or like a "loser" when you hear George play: PLEASE DO NOT...From what I know of George he would NOT want you feel this way. He got where he is by a lot of hard work and diligence, practice, practice and GOOD advice from an alert teacher. I grant you that he has a great "talent" but he worked hard and and I am sure he would not want you to be discouraged but ENCOURAGED by hearing what his work has yielded.

  • if you were 30 or something i wouldnt be impressed but ur olny 10... WHY ARE YOU SO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALL HAIL TEH AWESOME 10 YEAR BOY

  • @kazesorany

Lawl. You'd still be impressed even if he was 30...

I mean it still counts as talent peeps o-o

  • You are great little man.!

  • astonishing!

  • Beautiful! Your music brings great joy George. (: Thank you for sharing it with us.

  • good job

  • amazing. wow.

  • Thanks for sharings this, greetings to you. Great job.

  • Brilliant (",)

  • Çocuk ayakta çalıyo lan=D

  • Just a great really fun piece :p

  • Outstanding chops!! He's on top of this complex and extremely competitive vocation. I really appreciate such talent.

  • You can't be discouraged when you find somebody better than you. Rather, you should look up to them. They worked hard to be where they are at, and that should inspire you.

  • George life is piano, he marriaged to piano, his friends are musicians he met at rehersal..concert halls.......this is his life ...I have been thru the same stage as him...

  • bravo George,,,guys he does around 5 hours aday on top of his school home work. Dedication = results,,,, Keep up....

  • Hooray for learning to play the piano~

He's amazing. He seems very unrelaxed though. I heard a story about someone who played so much and so fast that his hands ached, and he had to stop playing. I don't want that to happen!

  • MAGiSTRAL!

  • Im 13 and im going to take the challenge of playing this piece!!!

  • ....asian...

  • Fuck you little kid. YOU'RE TOO GOOD! If you're reading this, you inspire me, your playing is good and plus you're very young... ;) Sorry for the language, but I can't contain my envy!!! Keep playing you incredible child!

  • @MsKTMvalley totally agree with you !!!!!!!! Amusing guy

  • What a prod

  • @leafeongirl101 your a homo

  • I would kill to be able to play this at this tempo and I'm 20...

  • I saw the video thumbnail and title and was like, huh?

  • i need this kind of talent...T_T

  • my jaw literally dropped

  • teach me

how much it cost per day?

  • the next Lang-Lang right here.

  • ASIA REPRESENTTTTTT

  • lol... i m just about to kill myself.. i'm 16 and im playing this piece.... and not well at all...

and haha did anyone notice the violin case under the piano? ASIANESS TO THE MAX XD

  • @stupidzhangjiayi Dude... it's NOT just because he's Asian... anyone has the potential to learn piano songs if they take the time to and if they have the right attitude. People, stop pulling the race card!

  • @Pianoloverok you son, are a genius. such emotion. im the same age as you XD

  • haha awesome!! you're incredible! :)

  • pro

  • :O

  • Ridiculously good. Congratulations.

  • if that's a violin case, then im jealous

  • This kid shames me, and here I am sitting thinking I could possibly make it into school as a pianist.

  • @musicalloverx this kid is a genius, don't bother comparing. Just be the best you can be.

  • @musicalloverx Don't let the skill of others deter you from your dreams of music. Being a concert pianist is not for everyone but the piano is so versitile that you can create endless possibilities of music.

  • @musicalloverx Calm down. He may look young but he's 15. And honestly, the only reason Asian's are so good is not because they're talented, but because they practice for several hours a day. Not to mention this guy probably started piano when he was 6 or 7. So don't feel bad.

  • @SCR34MC4R5ON I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND T.T

  • holy.

  • 太強了

  • son of an asian gun... fucking flawless.. whyy!! haha that piece is so hard.. and he is just fucking 11... damn.. greatness comes in all sort of sizes and ages people.. believe it

  • @vengadorsky we dont use guns we use ninja stars and karate hahahhaha stereotypes FTW

  • people like george exist to show the humanity how to play the piano.Just awesome interpretation

  • Is That A Violin Case I See Under The Piano? Oh , And VERY VERY Talented ;)

  • You're brilliant. I have a bit of trouble playing on black notes.

  • Another ASIAN??????????????????!!!!!!!

  • Oh my gosh!!! That's AMAZING!!! I heard this song in Jay Chou's movie, bu neng shuo de mi mi. You play WAY better than him!!! You guys should have a duel!!!

  • 29 people had wax in their ears. DERP

  • Who are 29 idiots who disliked the video?

  • @swissclerk maybe there are 29 other asian children they think they play it better because they do it faster ^^

  • @SCR34MC4R5ON why?

  • That is miraculus!! Keep up the great work and try not to lose your love for music. Everything else will come.

  • conveniently has a violin case underneath his grand. i for one am jealous! you are amazing!

  • A masterful performance George; you make it look easy! Bravo!!

  • You are amazing

  • Another brilliant performance. Well done George.

    Keep up the great work

  • wow .. u are actually really good. some are technically great but you truly play with soul. good job kid :)

  • @Pianoloverok well im 14 and im going to go jump off a cliff now.

  • @wohhitsvoxxo ME TOO, haha!

  • I have wanted to learn this piece for sooooo lonngggg. It's my mission!!

  • I DONT UNDERSTAND ;__;

  • A very nice performance! I am now 12 1/2 and have just started to learn this piece!

  • in all sincerity im not trying to be rude, I dont understand how hes a genius? im sure that if all of you started at his age playing youd be the same level as him, its not a matter of being a genius or not SO many people play like this all it takes is time. Plus he is playing somebody's work (chopin) he didnt come up with the melody im not saying hes not good but i think your over exaggerating ...

  • @warmen0808 i started ten years ago and i know by just this video that he's better than i am.

  • @warmen0808 being a genius isnt something ur born with so basicly ur saying theres no such thing as a genius

  • @warmen0808 erm actually he is a genius he already won numerous occasions in competitions such as the cooper international piano competition hes not ur typical piano playing boy

  • @warmen0808 Apparently you never studied classical piano. Despite endless hours of practice, I couldn't even master Chopin's minute waltz. My eldest daughter studied piano for 14 years.was a governor's school finalist in piano and She was quite gifted relative to her peers but in all honesty, she is not fit to tie George's shoes! I saw him play Rach 2 live this past spring and was weeping at the realization that I was witnessing a child prodigy for the first time in my 60 years.

  • My hat is off. I was 16 when I learned this, and I still can't play it half as well as you.

  • you are a genius.

  • wow .. WHAT THE HELL. This dude's making me feel like a loser.

  • @BlackCloud21509 hes asian :) there good at piano, dont take it wrong

  • chopin is mess, his music all sounds like orgasms on the piano... it's too messy >_< but the kid has skills

  • Bravissiomo!!

  • This song isn't too bad i guess, lots of noodling but it still iimpresses me because it doesn't sound "asian"

  • In this age a played with lego. :D

  • @DerPhilipp1986

At a age much other than him, i still create stuff with lego! haha, probably for the rest of my life i will be.

  • Is that your PJs? Just another day at the piano lol

  • You are a very good musician and pianist, and your brother also. I like to ear you very much. Thanks you !!! Sorry for my poor english !!!

  • KICK ASS

  • thanks) i am 10 and i am playing this is etude

  • @Pianoloverok not bad, i gotta say, when i was 11 i was just starting my Arct

  • and he playing in his pajamas lol

  • never ceases to amaze me, good work

  • Can you play on other instruments ?

  • i love it!! i love it!!!! :D

  • holy you are amazzzzzzinngg!!!!

  • LMAO

  • this is ridiculous.

  • woooow this is amazing!!!!! im supposed to learn this song over the summer :p it looks very hard. thanks for posting this video! :)

  • LOL NICE SHOES xP

  • very good.!!

  • holy........

  • lol every asian knows how to play piano..

  • How do you that? Even if you practice all day? This is almost physically impossible with little hands...

  • @Gioscuo he actually has big hands.

  • How?

  • fantastic

  • great very goood perfect

  • cute~XD

  • This makes me feel like a complete loser...

  • amazing!!!!!!!

  • In all honesty a lot of these kids are good. I've been listening to a lot of this kids works. He still has some minor technique difficulties. But I want to see if he'll develop his own personal touch. Lang Lang does this brilliantly, and that's what makes him one of the top Piano players.

Not to incite racism, though in Australia, a quote from a AMeB examiner(piano examinations) "Asian players" can play things with great technique and perfectly, however do not play emotionally.

  • haha man he is fast

  • how old is he in this video?

  • Very cool!

  • A lot (most) American kids just want to watch TV, rock videos and play video games. Enter an (Asian) kid who actually works for hours a day, and doesn't have time for the other "crap" most American kids do. Of course he has a natural gift, but you never get this good without incredible hard work. They are willing to work very hard, even as children. Our kids, easily distractable, demanding instant gratification in everything...are not. sanjosemike

  • @sanjosemike As an Asian kid, I can say that it's not only the willingness of the children to work hard, but also the willingness of the parents to "encourage", sometimes forcefully, their children to excel. Half of the kids in my school know how to play the piano only because their parents forced them to for half of their lives.

  • @mercenary90 sure they work hard when they're young, but how many respected pianists are from asia? li is only respected because he is a child. this would be a mundane performance if given by an adult, but OMG HE'S SO YOUNG AND CAN PLAY FAST is the only reason people like him.

  • @joerois404d Respected pianists? What about Lang Lang? Yiruma? Jay Chou or Zhan Yuhao ? All are famous and respected pianists, not considering musicians of other instruments or composers. You can sample any of them on Youtube: the latter have a piano battle in the movie Secret I found awesome. I can say that many of these stars were talented as children, but that does not mean that they grow up to be unremarkable and unsuccessful no more than people think Chopin was a fraud as an adult.

  • @joerois404d so: "fast" is not even nearly the reason for being good! you can play 3 times faster than this, and are not good although, or you can play half the speed, but 1000000000nds better!

you: "but how many respected pianists are from asia?" the momentarily WORLDS BEST PIANIST is from asia!

the reasen why George li is really good, is, that he play with SO much emotion (for a child in this age) AND speed!

I'm probably playing piano for a longer time than he is living, but am not as good..

  • @aster2ix sry for my englisch i'm german..^^

  • @joerois404d Yiruma? Ryuichi Sakamoto? Chick Corea? They are only few of many. I'm not defending the kid, but same question for you: how many respected American pianists can YOU think of? PLEASE don't turn this into a racial thing. Music shouldn't be about race. If music is good, music is good.

  • @sanjosemike oh no no no, it has everything to how they are raised and almost nothing to do with if their asian or not. yea there are talented asian kids out there but you cant just say that ALL american kids are spoiled and ALL asian kids work hard.

  • holy crabssss

  • Wonderchild!

  • wow.. his right hand's like a blur.. amazing kid.!!

  • Does anyone have the word "prodigy" in their mind?

  • theres a violin under the piano.. what does that imply...

  • MAESTRO!!!!!!

  • i love how he ends all of his songs with that

    TADAA type thing (:

  • this just makes me not want to play anymore

  • this SHOULD make you want to play more! :D

You could do that in no time if you're to practice!

  • Absolutely amazing! I'd give my wife and child for half the talen that is in that kid's left pinkie. Of course...I don't have a wife....or a child....but his pinky is probably worth more that that anyway. XD

    Great playing!

  • gotta love this kid's playing

  • How about, instead of discussing the fact that the boy is Asian, we give him a round of applause for being able to play a difficult piece? =.='

  • Yup, another Asian kid; of course! They are not afraid of having a real sense of dedication and a genuine work ethhic. It's not ethnicity, it's the work ethic; one kid plays/practices piano and the other kid plays video games. :) Not a complicated concept at all.

    Ron.

    ( ;-} >

  • @warmen0808 So True

  • It's just unusual because he looks so young! i cant play that piece without getting exhausted at 1:08. It's very difficult to play, its just amazing that a 12 year old (is he 12?) can do that

  • wow an asian kid who knows how to play piano BIG surprise lol

  • @warmen0808

    x) Irony much!

  • lol, i bet there are very few who can play so well at this age though

  • @warmen0808 jajajaj agree XD

  • @warmen0808 why not?

  • @warmen0808 I know right???

  • @warmen0808

Yeah, because if you're asian, its easier to play piano. They're also really good at math too. I for one welcome our new 11 year old, chopin playing asian overlords.

  • @warmen0808 Dumbass

  • @warmen0808

Lol Dude the one of the best pianoists in the world is a blind japanese man.

  • he is so talented!

  • wonderful!!

  • EXCELLENT!!

  • amazing! great sound.

  • A wonderful performance!

  • Thank you a lot for sharing, dear George Li.

Such a great interpretation of Chopin's music, one of my favorites great musicians/composers in the world.

Have a great week, dear friend!

    Lella
