i lost my breath on this part 2:37 - 4:56 i can't describe that with words...not on english not on my native language. magnificent!!!! do anyone know the name of this part?? greetings from Bosnia :D
The beggining of 'Often she visits' sent me to heaven. I still have shivers. Incredibly beautiful. Graham`s 'Thy hand Belinda' is also extremely sensitive
There are so many wonderful versions of Dido's Lament on You Tube: Janet Baker, Emma Kirkby, Lorraine Hunt Lieberson, Sarah Connolly and Jeff Buckley! I love them all, but Susan Graham takes the prize!
We bought this recording and the "Of she visits this lone mountain" bit just hit me. Really the most extraordinary performance of it I've ever heard and like Molealto I've been involved in my fair share of performances.
great*****

What do you get when you mix Emmanuelle Haim and Susan Graham together? I'm not sure how to describe it, but it is something special.

On 03.28 Haim leaves the harpsichord, but it's still playing? Stunning nevertheless.

because there is another harpsichord playing.

The two arias are both superbly sung. It's tempting to buy it, but why a tenor Aeneas?
Habrolissimo 2 years ago
Because Aeneas is a tenor part...
