I've heard many of Tex's renditions of his song, and this version is by far his absolute best one. Thank you for posting it. It's one that I favorited as soon as I heard it. And I don't see how some cretin can possibly dislike this song.
First film to carry a singing score... the film was made as an allegory about the failure of Hollywood to stand up to the Blacklisting going on at that time... remains one of the top 10 films every made
Grace Kelly....what a beautiful woman! One of my favorite movies! Rivals McClintock! Ahhh....my daddy taught his daughter the love of Westerns and Football!!!
No vulgarity, No nudity, no spectacular special effects in technicolor. Just a black and white movie about a man overcoming the fear of a whole town and in the end to do the right thing. This movie is about a common man who had the courage to stand and fight when the odds were stacked heavily against him and win.
It was my cousin, Greg Tuxworth's, favorite movie, and we watched it together in 1975 in Mattapoisette, Mass. It was the last time that I would see my cousin alive.
I'd like to dedicate this video to my Dad, even though I didn't create it. We saw it together at a theater in Portland, OR when I was 10 years old, and I didn't understand the depth of its meaning or its metaphor for the common man who is thrown into such circumstances. I love you and miss you, Dad.
