if you manafactured an aerponic system from strong mateirals and made it big enough you coudl grow large fifty foot trees and increase growth rate rapidly. imagine a metal resovoir about 20ft tall for tree production to decrease forest destruction. WHy not grow hydroponic and aerponic trees to save the land.
Yeah the wood WILL start molding and roting in time. It's a good prototype though. You have to watch the Root section intake tempurature down in the bin because if your getting warm nutrients you will starve the plants abillity to take up Oxygen and other things. It will also increase the plants need for Water, nuets (which it wont be able to uptake anymore) It's complicated, but just keep an eye on it. Cool system. Cheers. IC.
If the roots are suspended in air with the air being the growing media then its an aeroponic system whether you use a sprayer, fogger, or splash them a bucket of water. I defiantly agree with the wood it's really well built but plastic is the way to go. As far as droplet size 10 microns is about the size of a red blood cell and 50 is about 1/2 a human hair doubt fog is to small and would condense into larger droplets on the roots anyway.
Also, FWIW. This isn't really an "aeroponics" system. It's Fogponics. I've wondered how efficient those "fountain foggers" are at misting the organic matter in nutrients or salts to the actual root zone. I imagine you have to be very careful what nutrients you use so not to clog it up prematurely. I read a report by NASA on plan growth saying that optimum water droplet size for aeroponics is 10-50 micron. I think thats bigger than the mist makers.
Great demo dude... I wouldn't build it out of unfinished wood tho ... wood sucks up moisture and you will get mold issues over prolonged time. I would treat it with something like shallac or paint. I have seen those "mist makers" on ebay... i've heard they jam up and heat the resovour too much without a cycletimer. I gotta check out your other videos now to see if this system worked.
i have a feeling its going to start molding buddy, i think you should change to plastic asap.. I hope everything works well, but Plastic is much more better.. =)
Good work but I have a strong feeling that your wood is going to rot and cause all types of problems (mold)in time due to all the moisture build up.A plastic setup would be better.Maybey you could paint it first and treat it with a water sealant.
So in essence you made a fogger system. Aeroponics typically uses sprayers. Just make sure you keep your unit clean! They are known to clog up pretty quick from nutrients.
i sanyoen on here actually gonna build a true aeroponics system with pressure tank and atomizer. This is just roots growing in the air with sprinkler system. Its similar and you cannot nock the fact that it work but i would like to see sombody build a true system. Why has nobody done this
This isnt aeroponics, this is called fogponics. Aeroponics is where you spray your roots.

I dont know if this is the simplest setup but its the best Fucking explaining video i seen.

well ur mist generator looks exactly the same as mine, check out my fb page how i set it up, real simple

We all appreciate your effort to experiment with aeroponics, but the way you set this up makes everything way more complicated than it should be.

its need to have more mist
