Sorry to bust your bubble, but it is YORUBA...

How do u know if Yoruba that the West African slaves spoke, didnt eveolve into what it is today???

Even at that, I can still understand most of the words in the song, being a native Yoruba speaker myself. :)

OSUNO, YEYE O, IYA MI O....Ashe!!!

  • Orayeyeo Osun minha mãe amada !!!!

  • @topocurutchaiba The sound "ch" is not in the Yoruba alphabet. I'm Yoruba, and I don't know a word there.

  • @Sammy107d Please check this video:ballet folklorico Camaguey Lazaro ros ochun, and tell me if you understand something.I am cuban and this is part of our afro-cuban religion from yoruba tribes,of course we don't speak yoruba, but this was trasmited from slaves and they did not know how to write so everything was orally. That is why we can not say the words exactly as you do.Regards

  • I love and feel strongly for this mantra (: I had it in my head all yesterday.

  • This is not a Hindu mantra, it's Yoruba (from Africa). It's a mantra to Goddess Oxum, the goddess of the rivers and water falls. Her color is yellow and she's also this lovely mother that looks over all her children.
