  • I guess they figured, this is HBO. No ads (except the fake ones). So we can make the intro as long as we want. :)

  • @dickmysuck13 The original theme was the instrumental portion of Eric Clapton's "Motherless Children", which most assuredly did not suck. I have no idea why they changed it to this dreck.

  • 80's FOREVER!!!

  • In the good old days...

  • god i remember this show from when my folks used to watch this all the time when i was a kid, just happened to stumble upon this video when i was looking for something else. brings back alot of memories.

  • I loooooooved this show...it was soooo funny! :O) Thanks for sharing. :O)

  • Is it my imagination or did this show have the longest fucking intro and most annoying theme song ever in history?

  • This show was almost gay.

  • @AllPro777 Said the Emo with pride.

  • @Mysterwright

That's a funny post coming from a Ron Jeremy look-alike reject.

  • @AllPro777 You donno the half of it.

  • brainwashed 7:23

  • damn...half the clip was the introduction to the show...ha ha, Bloom´s pantyhose is so 80´s...SHE WAS DAMN HOT!!

  • Man.... I miss NNTN! Wish it would show as on a retro channel.

  • That would have been a great crime fighting show. Bob Hope and Pope John Paul co star in HOPE AND POPE! Hope will make you laugh yourself to death while the Pope will send you to HELL!!!!!

  • Damn, you think the opening's long enough? Reminds me of that scene on "Family Guy" with unedited Maude theme song.

  • this was a uk show the us stole!

  • @pipinfresh1 No, this is a show from the USA, get over it and stop being smug.

  • @EvilSlyGuy No, it was a uk show called not the 9 o'clock news! look it up on wikipedia it even says it is based in a british show caled not the 9 o'clock.

  • @pipinfresh1 Yes, based, you said stolen, big big difference.

  • @EvilSlyGuy based on is just another way of saying "stolen" because we couldent think of are one ideas lol

  • @pipinfresh1 No, based means the foundation is the same but nothing else is, stolen is a different word and has another meaning. Based not stolen.

  • @EvilSlyGuy Ok man whatever you wanna think. But the uk version is better lol look it up though, America bses/steals all the shows off British and visa versa.

  • @pipinfresh1 It's not what I think, it's what the dictionary thinks, different words with different meanings. I think this version is far better but you are from the UK so of course you think your version is better, after all you did come in here to make sure that everyone knew that this was based off a UK show.. Base/steals? Again, two words two meanings, funny how you lump them together.

  • @EvilSlyGuy dude you are looking into this way too much! All i was trying to say is the British one came first and the Americans used it. Sorry if i didn't articulate the correct manner of words to satisfy your condescending nature.

  • @pipinfresh1 Condescending? Let's not get into name calling or hypocrisy, it was you that first came in here to let everyone know this was (stolen) based on your british show, not me.

  • @EvilSlyGui look this is going nowhere! we are just going round in circles, ok i was wrong you were right yada yada moving on....

  • @pipinfresh1 Move on then..

  • The football segment was the best part...

  • Hello, in the early 80's I submitted a Sniglet to NNTN on HBO and am looking for that episode. The sniglet is TELEVATOR, introduced by Stuart Pankin who was depicted on a television as the screen rolled out of control and he was looking up and down in confusion.

Thanks for any leads on helping find this episode!

  • hahaha Margaret Thatcher.

  • Was that Teddy Kennedy and Fidel Castro???

  • shows like this paved the way for things like The Office, Borat, Reno 911. etc etc. Conan O'brien wrote for this show. Brilliant

  • Fuck, I missed the year to watch! 87 ;[

  • Frosty Kimmelman was one of my first crushes....she was so HOT!

  • Did this start before 'Not The Nine o'clock News'? Very funny, though.

  • @lumbago12 Oops! Just read that it was based on NTNOCN.

  • Reminds me of being a kid. Always loved this show.

  • Mitchell Laurance was HOT... had a huge crush on him back in the day!

  • My dad would always let me stay up and watch this when I was a kid. I thought it was the funniest thing in the world, lol.

  • Is that Steve Young at 5:17

  • anyone remember brothers on here with the gay brother it was an eighties hbo show maybe showtime not sure.

  • jeez I remember this show..man I'm old lol,Rich Hall was the best,sniglets

  • Great to remember a great show. Can someone say why they never got rereleased?

  • where did you get these videos I would like to purchase them. thanks

  • Tobacco drug use at 7:55.

  • Wow, a 2-minute intro. There's something you don't see anymore.

  • Fuck The Daily Show! NNTN RULED.... :-D

  • 7:30 is fucking hilarious!

  • No they didn't. ^_^

  • Reagan, complete lack of artistic expression, compete lack of political expression, pastel colors everywhere, it was like Miami took over the world. Thankfully, I was 4-14 years old then. If not for the 80's, I wouldn't realize how lucky I was to do my HS years in the 90's.

  • Yeah...I guess some guy grabbing his crotch and saying DAYMN is considered high class entertainment to you, huh? ^_^

  • I have no idea what that means???

  • This is one of the funniest TV shows ever aired! I wish they would release the series on DVD.

  • I loved this show. What ever happened to Anne Bloom?

  • Those were the days

  • CLASSIC TV!!!

  • I used to watch this in El Salvador.. In English, barely speaking it, but I just loved it.

  • What happened to Mitchell Laurence??? This was one of the funniest shows on TV during it's time. Now dude is on ESPN's pool tourney coverage. He's dry as all get out now. I don't know if he lost his "funny" or what, but everytime I see him on ESPN I just shake my head. Like damn homie what happened???

  • Funny, but the laugh track is irritating.

  • Why didn't Stuart Pankin ever become a star? He was brilliant.

I remember one segment when Westmoreland was suing CBS and Ariel Sharon was suing some other media outlet in the US. They set it up dramatically as "Who's the Toughest Ex-General of them all?"

  • The was a great show. Anne Bloom was so hot.

  • They are masters of out-of-context sequences. HBO proved to be a great outlet for these sorts of comedy programs, post whatever you have, because this stuff has not been on the air for many years!

  • Before there was "The Daily Show"...............

  • This was better than "The Daily Show".... NNTN didn't take itself so seriously.

  • @dave4248

Better than The Daily Show? NNTN has nothing to do with The Daily Show because it had nothing to do with reality. I'm not saying NNTN was not as good or better than The Daily Show, just that comparing them is not at all useful. However, comparing things is rather easy for the weak. ;-) Jeez, NNTN wasted 3 minutes on the credits! Other than that NNTN was great stuff.

  • @dave4248

true about most things now. tv is for fags, now.

  • This covered everything that was going on at the time. thanks. it needs an entire website so that we can watch every episode.

  • Thank you for sharing this! I've been searching for NNTN stuff for years, and decided to search for it on YouTube for the umpteenth time. Well worth the search.

  • Back when writing satire was actually somewhat challenging.

  • Good point.

I remember a promo for "The Big Chill: Part VI": two people sitting on the floor wondering why all their friends had killed themselves.

  • this show was soooo fuckin great.wow.loved rich hall wit sniglets.they shood bring the show back.

  • got any more on video tape? PLEASE post them, it's not on DVD yet and there's no other way to see it!

  • Look at zombie Castro!

  • What?

  • There's a big joke among bloggers that Castro is a zombie because he hasn't died yet.

  • I'd love to see this again!!! on dvd if it was available.

  • Great show the should have some kind of "Best of" on DVD. But I like the opening that used the Clapton version of "Motherless Children" as the theme song.

  • Wow.....what a bloody long credit sequence

  • I wish this show was on dvd...

  • What an awesome show. Wish there were more episodes on YouTube.

  • The good old days. This was a great show.
