  • I love this song beyond all words!

  • Ten years it has been . Timeless it is .

    hphughey

  • I don't really view them as industrial, Rammstein is industrial, this is like sum odd combination of electronica and.......maybe goth?

  • I agree.

I view them as a mixture between the Cure and Joy Division.

  • You fools don,t a shit about industrial. Skinny puppy are more than 25 years old and they are essential of industrial. In 80s industrial meant: drum machines, synths, samplers, distorted voices and heavy beats. Skinny puppy influenced Front line assembly, Nine inch nails etc. In next 2 decades new bands developed new style consisting of any electronic device like sampler and rock/metal guitar. This is case of Rammstein. METAL+ROCK+INDUSTRIAL =ASSIMILATE !!!! :P

  • ramms is not industrial, they're pop. they are a mainstream expression of whatevers popular at the time.skinny was/is an evolution in progress out of time.. and still undefined

  • FF + Skinny Puppy = No. You could have pulled it off better if you used the Razed In Black cover of this song...

  • Skinny puppy=Industrial

  • god one of my fav puppy tunes, with one of my fav movies, thanks!

  • I can't believe there are so many fuktards that think Skinny Puppy is rock. It is a TOTALLY different genre. -_____-

  • Coolsss.

  • You win.

  • please. you are so off. SP graces this footage. You can't have the "final sephiroth battle" music on all FF shit.

  • skinny puppy = crap rock?

    LOL WUT

  • Skinny Pupupy is ot even rock? L2knowwtfyourtalkingabout.

  • 1) Assimilate's lyrics are meaningful. Have you even bothered listening to them? 2) Well, attraction to sound is just that. Attraction, opinion. 3) The vocals most definitely compliment it, giving it a dark ambiance. 4) Skinny Puppy's identity is MORE than genuine...

So it falls under the category of what "rock" is (when usually a genre is defined by the instruments used and what manner they are used) - why is it crap then?

  • You are spot on about this. Let's just be forthright tho, animefreak is a waste of our time. He's probably really 'hentaifreak' and needs to be better socialized before he makes commentary worthy of our attention.

  • Skinny puppy is industrial music you retard.

  • well they called their music, "brap", the song "dig it" hit the top 40 for "dance" music once. but yes, "industrial", is the what it's widely regarded as

  • Wow. Awesome music and vid. :)

  • sport a gun kill a cop!

  • In the trench of pestilence the Bible screams "Renounce your faith"

  • wow, great fitting for the song

  • I love it when people claim you can't like two different things. Skinny Puppy and FF7 are indeed the shit. Yes, in that order.

  • nice job on combinding the two.

i enjoyed this video it put one of the two things i love. very nice :-D

  • I give credit for combining this video with this song. I never would've expected it. Nice work.

  • Love the song, but couldn't care less about the video.

  • Cool song, cool band, good video, four stars.

  • I love it, absolutely amazing video and song.

  • Skinny Puppy is the best electronic band ever and i wish more people knew about them

  • No shit....if I bin to a Puppy cncrt in 89 does that make me old??

  • Guess we're about the same age. I saw them in 1988 and then again in 2005 :o)

  • eu queria saber o q tem a ver essa musica perfeita com a porra do final fantasy?

  • I never had a Mohawk but loved them since I was a teenager and fellow anti vivisectionist. Prefer the live version but this suits this just fine too. I forget how long they have been around sometimes - which makes me feel kind of old :-)

  • was at this concert mohawk and all

  • Great song to go along with the video. FF was one of the best games I've ever played. Good job.

    Marius

  • Love this band! Used to dance to 'em when I was younger. This movie is really cool too, even though I don't play the game. Shame it's a bit pixelated

  • Bites is a truly awesome electronic album.

SP get overlooked by mainstream critics because of their "subculture" image (industrial/goth/horror), but screw that, this was one of the most creative synth albums on the mid-80s. Holds up great today.

Anyone else here think "Last Call" is brilliant? I like it as much as "Assimilate," which is high praise. Often overlooked among the all-time best SP tracks.

  • I think that if SP was found out then it would now be some preppypop crap. So its good that it overlooked.

  • yeah Last Call is pretty great

  • to me, this is SP's best song

  • Not into FF, but this song is pretty damn good. I still wanted an actual music video for it though.

  • i lovb this grup

    gracias por subirlo

    yheaaaaaaa

    lovve

  • This vid kinda rocks!!

  • Love skinny puppy, love FF - and i think that this song could have actually matched the ff7 story plot rather well, but I feel the video could have been a bit more creative as far as how it coexists with the music. still pretty good tho.

  • Just a bunch of clips set to music.

Not worth my bandwidth in my opinion.

  • someone elses video doesn't take up your own bandwidth ya goose! >_<

  • This guy sounds like "BLING BLING," from bumfights.

  • why?

  • Magnificant!! Truly wonderful!!

  • I LIKE SKINNY PUPPY. WHEN I WAS YOUNG I LIKE F.F. SAGA. DUDE, THIS COMBINATION IS HORRIBLE. xDDDDDD

  • I wonder how many vids have been made that use that movie.

  • About 8 billion. Kind of odd, seeing as the movie isn't very popular.

  • Ah well. Still, this song is pure heaven.

  • I don't like FF but Skinny puppy=GOD..

  • Yes i think it is... i have so much its hard to keep track of what they were on.

  • your video is awesome. mind giving me a link to download it, because usually the quality of the music video suffers, when you upload it on youtube, and i'd like to see the original =)

  • I wish i could, but my computer crashed and i lost all of them.

  • BTW is this the original song from the album "bite"???

  • yep, its the original on bite - but original it was only an instrumental theme on BACK AND FORTH

Series Two, released in 1983 demo tape ... :)
