hey i have a question?? i got the avic z120 and ordered the slingbox pro hd...will sling box automatically tv out if the head unit is in video mode??i have it jailbroke and have both tv outs if necessary...i noticed that your is running through your ipod mode...maybe the z120 is a little diffrent
@mikgto68 i have the z120 now also.. but my iphone is not jailbroken at this time because i upgraded filmware to 4.2 so i don't know yet... but i do know you need the tv-out feature in order to play on the avic unit... it will not just tv out like it does when playing a youtube vid on the unit. when a 4.2 filmware jailbreak comes out i will know then but i am actually looking on ipad install with my avic 120.... will post vid when it happens... thanx for watching bro...
@djvez2000 nice a ipad would be sick !! specially with the z120 ..i do know that quicktime will also tv out ...so if ya download anything to quicktime you will also be able to watch that on there...yea i have the new i phone but the 4.2 jailbreak...im also waiting for the 4.2...
@mikgto68 im acutally waiting for the iphone to come out on verizon... can't stand at&t that i have now... but yea, can''t wait to do the ipad upgrade... ipad ontop where my head unit is now, z120 below where the ac unit is and relocate the ac to the center console below the shift knob....
@djvez2000 yea that would be pretty sweet...i had a 04 titan crew cab le bak in 04 it was a sweet ass truck,...the i pad would fit center perfectly...are you familiar with the soundman??look him up on you tube they are great!! give you some good ideas for the ipad install...he did it with all digital outs and all it was a sweet setup..
@mikgto68 yea i seen soundman but luved the david fishman motorized install, really looking to have that one done in my armada... the youtube title for that is "Fishman's iPad Install" check it bro... i just about drooled when i saw it... not big on the whole entertainment setup in the back of his expedition but the motorized ipad intall is sick!
@djvez2000 yea ive seen that one too..lol..i figured that one was prob a couple grand more to have it look that clean....its tight though...like the way it opens and closes so it looks like built in...yea that truck was more like a rolling limo with all that crap in it...yea ill have to get a ipad...lol
Are you using a composite cable or the pioneer dock cable? Is you deck set to ipod control or navi control? Mine only works on ipod control otherwise it will try and automatically play my ipod songs and i get no video when i open slingplayer. When i do get video its very small

@mrniceguy1437 thanks for the comment... and i am only using tv landscape out... thats all. and no it just plays on the pioneer unit not on the phone... i just use the phone to change channels
@djvez2000 ok, thanks...i was using both apps together, i think the iphone was overloaded by trying to produce 2 videos of different sizes at the same time.
do you have 3rd party a/v cable or the genuine apple?? do you also have resupported installed from cydia?

Hey! Quick question about the slingbox. Can you connect your cable box to your tv via HDMI and cable box to slingbox via coaxial at the same time? How does the cable box know which output to use? Just wondering how yours works. I want to do what youre doing. Thanks in advance for the help.
@mort1019 well im using rca cables even though i bought the pro hd slingbox because i do not have a hd direct tv receiver yet.. had the hd tivo unit once upon a time ago n i connected through hdmi
@mort1019 cont. back then but again just using standard rca red white n yellow cables for now until i get a new hd receiver.. so my set up is using all rca's from the sat receiver to the slingbox n then from the slingbox to the tv. have never used the coax cable at all, just s video cable rca or hdmi soon when i get an hd direct tv receiver
@wytzulu first congrats on getting that head unit... very nice in the diplay.. everything looks alot cleaner on that one, because its newer, but i don't see why it would not work they both are pretty much the same in functions. the tv out hack for the iphone is found in cydia after you jailbreak your phone/ipod touch if u get it working you just have to tweek the settings a bit to fit you 7 inch screen... lemmie know n i'll shoot the settings to you that works for me... peace brah
