I think if atheists looked into Buddhism seriously they would actually call themselves Buddhists. Outside of reincarnation, all Buddhism is is a path for people to live a better life within their own environment, and makes no threats of anything. It simply puts the ideas out there, and says take it if you want. Not to mention Buddhists are probably the most peaceful people on earth. It's hardly really a religion.

Yes, the aid work and good things but also faith in the biblical times was all about worship. Not about distracting showhouses full of gold and rituals (churches). It was a direct sinless spiritual bond between the apostle/believer and God. Since the church came, abuse, power stuggles, racism, sexism, dominance came with. We have to remove evil from the church and start all over again where it began. With Jesus' original teachings wich were good to begin with.

Beside, athesim is based on a lack of evidence of a god - not the other way around. The natural state of the universe is there is no god, therefore it is up to you to prove otherwise.

Yes, it is unfortunately just wishful thinking to believe in a "life after life" or that consciousness would be able to escape the brain when we die and fly off to *Never-Never-Land*, haha.. It would be fun, but science gives us no reason to assume any such things can happen. Consciousness is biochemistry in the brain. Interestingly, the first caller seems genuinely interested, and is as respectful as you can expect a theist to be when asking about atheism. If shows like this reach one person, and reduce his level of religiosity to some degree and expose him to the differences between rational and irrational thought, then they have served their purpose.
