lovley detailed layout wonderful im doing oo gauge at the moment and i was thinking of another oo gauge layout once the oe i doing is done but instead i might do one like this scale
@ejcmoorhouse 009 is 2ft 3inch gauge in 4mm scale, which is the same as 00 Gauge. basically just different track and smaller locomotives, If Narrow Gauge is new to you, visit North Wales. Its covered in Narrow Gauge Railways. I model one railway in particular called the Talyllyn and theres videos of my layout in action on my channel, feel free to have a look if your interested.
@goldie103103 You are correct. 1:76 is 00. 009 is narrow gauge at 1:76 scale running on 9 mm track (2foot 3inches when scaled up). Hence the 009. I supposed in American terminolgy it would 00n27 !!!
Speaking as someone who works in N scale(1:160), I have to say I was most impressed by what I'd seen in this video. And what's more, you've given me plenty of inspiration for my own model railroad project. Thanks a bunch! :)

@goldie103103 Yes I think you're right - but the film's up and too late to change. Doesn't detract from a damn fine layout though!

@railwaychannel I think you are both right but if some one could explain 009 to me then I would be very happy

@goldie103103
1:76 is a SCALE, not a gauge. 1:76 scale is also known as 4mm/foot. So in 1:76 scale you can have 00, EM, P4, 009 gauges and others.
So 1:76 is correct for this layout.

@oldironandy Im not a total idiot, Ive got a 1.76 scale layout with 00, I have been working at it for nearly 10 years now.

Did you take the video of this layout? Super job. Wonderful layout. What does the 009 in the title mean?

There is some hard work gone into this. A labour of love perhaps?
