  • I love this song, Rush the best rock trio of the Universe!

  • /watch?v=LC4aQswRRs8

  • This is not a love song...

    This is a fantasy land!

  • @mybigbuick isn't*

  • cold cold fire

    /watch?v=IjPsnfysrp8&feature=related

    served warm

  • The guitar work on this song is just beautful...the solo is just absolutely amazing. Lifeson FTW...

  • As close as to a love song as they ever got..... thank GOD

    They are the BEST!!!!!!!!!

Seen them 2112 times......+ or - get it?

  • Shaking your ass as you walk out the door...

  • F in grat video.thank you so much!

  • Oh my dream is to see them play there home town :) am saving my pennies to come over from England

  • i was 2 when they played this show

  • I saw them at the Forum in Montreal in May 1990 and May 1994 while visiting from Australia to see family in Canada. This takes me back to then. Rush rule, but just don't get played in Australia. What a joke. I've got all their albums and "Counterparts" is right up there and this track is one of the best off it.

  • "...shaking your ass as you walk out the door..."

  • This song is so signature of the 90s for me, thanks so much for posting! You brought back so many fond memories! Best Regards, RJ

  • lol @ the southern accent :-D

  • The country thing in the beginning was hilarious.

But is it just me, or does he seem to be leaning against an invisible wall while playing?

  • Okay, the first part of this video is funnier than HELL! Rush DOES NOT do country! That was just so , very funny!

  • I didn't know quite what to think of this song when I first bought this CD back in 93. But the bridge/chorus is so killer, it eventually won me over. Counterparts was a great Cd. Favorite track from that CD is "Cut To The Chase." I love "Double Agent" also.

  • Damn....bootleg from 1994, not bad at alllllll...vocals sound clear crap!

  • @stevelerro I admit sometimes Geddy hasn`t his best days but the vocals here are pretty good IMO.

  • @Delgift I meant to say "clear as crap" usually bootlegs have terrible mixing, the vocals are perfectly EQ'd in this!

  • Geddy Lee has long hair

  • @mrrockasocks He always has. : )

  • You know something...I LOVE to ROCK n ROLL and I do to a small extent...but I wouldn't know the first thing how to play these (to me) complicated rock riffs Alex plays on here. (Of course, admittedly I have only an acoustic guitar...but anyway...) Keep on Rockin, Rush. Your sound's awesome!!!!

  • lol I like Alex's "Johnny Cash's" country pickin' at the beginning of this LOLOL!!! "I walk the Line" - I believe that was the picking from. Yeah a little trivia there interpersed with my comment here: I love Rush all the time!!!! I write my songs patterned after them don't worry I'm not gonna say any more about that. just saying that in passing LOL. Best 3 piece band in the world imho!!!!! Go RUSH!!! Whoooppp!!!!

  • @audio1358 right right right - lol. heheheh no law against me replying to this person ROFL!!! "yes i-tis! by jove I think you are right. Lifeson's just "warming up" heh. funny a rock band warming up the ole axe with a country & western song hahahaha. no I'm not denigrating them. I think it's neat! No law against a fantastic guitarist like Alex Lifeson to warm up with a country tune LOL! heheheheh. I know someone who does the very same thing. This person also (hahaha) tunes the guitar by ear.

  • @cyphrinfinity ...to continue: and this person uses no capo either lol. but might purchase a tuner in the future as too much hp use is ruining the sensitive decibel hearing she used to have in the 70s.

  • @cyphrinfinity there. she said she's gonna try to warm up with a country and western song now LOL. hahahaha.

  • How is that a knock at the US? Bern938 lol what an idiotic comment

  • I will

  • i dont like these recorded samples... idk, they shouldn't use it =p

  • son los mejores!!! Mexico loves his Rush!!!

  • Country. lol.

A little knock at the US?

  • this song would be just as good live (in my opinion) if they didn't use recorded samples of geddy's voice

it's so frustrating that they continue to do this on so many songs when they don't really have to

It doesn't need to sound exactly like the recordded version.

  • why is it frustrating? do the samples make the song sound any worse live? (my answer: no) so what's the problem?

  • l o v e it smashing riff

  • ahah " were gona take a new direction...some nice wholsome country" Classic Rush humour

  • Great audio quality on this. Thanks!

  • The introduction is very funny.

  • Neal Peart is freakin' incredible! The best drummer in rock....period.

  • @soonerbob81972 He's got him a cold fire on them there drums.

  • Again.....great show that I saw at Maple Leaf Gardens!!

  • one of Alex's best tones ever.....hands down!!!

  • Counterparts was such a huge album for Rush. It's basically when they quit the keyboards and went back to the basics, which they're still sticking to 16 years later. I love that album because I think it gave Rush new life...plus it's a great album.

  • Hold Your Fire and Power Windows will remain to be favorites of mine and countless others. Good music is good music. You are right though, they did ditch the keyboards, but still keys weren't really bad for them at all.

  • @edthehead83 Grace Under Pressure, and Hemipsheres for me.

  • @wrinkleneckbass I like their Prog rock era way better than their newer stuff. Presto and RTB are awesome, though Counterparts was a bit too angst/Alt/grunge for me. At least T4E went back to the prog shit. So did S&A with the time signature switches and stuff.

  • she said, "This is not a love song. This isn't fantasy land."

  • Shit for a bootleg, the sound is great. Whoever did this recording did an awesome job. However the best band in the "Whole Damn World" being recorded helps out alot as well!!!

  • Rush rules

  • Great audio man. Pretty full sounding.

  • Wrocławskie tramwaje...

  • Great

    sound!!!

  • It was long after midnight , when we got to unconditional love. It was in the afternoon only when Zarathustra, after long useless searching and strolling about, again came home to his cave. It was a long, manifold, peculiar cry,and Zarathustra plainly distinguished that it was composed of many voices: Thereupon Zarathustra rushed forward to his cave, and behold! what a spectacle awaited him after that concert!

  • awesome song, awesome album, awesome band, awesome upload. thanks for posting

  • Great song! I saw the same show in Cincinnati back in 93 (or 94) OH, THE MEMORIES!!

  • What a killer bootleg!Sounds just as good as most of todays bands studio crap.

  • omg Geddy's voice is amazing!

  • WOW... what the hell was this recorded with? Terrific!

  • I expect a whole lot from these guys. I set the bar really high, and no matter what, they always seem to pass well over it. I never can set it high enough for them. No matter what, Rush will always be considered one of the best.

Not to mention Geddy is a sexy beast. <3

  • Essa versão a maneira como o Geddy canta é ainda mais legal que na versão de estúdio, que já é espetacular...

    Vídeo incrível!

  • incredible....like being there..

    amazing trio

  • Man this guys are amazing true musicans, you can hardly say that of most today...

  • a flame at the heart of a pawnbroker's diamond

  • The look in your eyes as you head for the door

  • wow alex is amazing!

  • agree with that

  • Great video. Amazing sound quality for a bootleg. Enjoyed it very much.

  • SHOULDA been a pop hit, lol! Seriously. Its a great lil song. Better than half the pop song crap on the radio now. And one of Alex's wickedest solos.

  • Well said bro'

  • I saw this tour in Providence, RI on May 1, 1994. The first Rush concert I went to. This was my first show since The Who in July, 1989 at Foxboro Stadium and then saw Pink Floyd on what now turned out to be their last tour for The Division Bell a few weeks after Rush. Geddy, Alex and Neil put on a great show. I wanted to hear the new material plus the classics and Neil's drum solo was phenomenal.

  • that's awesome, one of my fav. rush songs.

  • That's one of mu favourites too... I'm addicted to this song!!!

  • I love Geddy's sense of humor. And the fact that he doesn't have his voice touched up on the CDs.

  • Geddy is singing the "backing" vocal part, and Lerxst is singing the "lead" vocal part. The reason being that Lerxst can't sing as high as he would need to for the harmony part.

It sounds good in my opinion... If you want it to sound like the record, listen to the record.

  • yea i think its sounded good

  • no.....Geddy makes Rush what it is

  • The beginning is really awesome! :)

  • cool

  • Hilarious beginning! Got me scared there for a minute, though:)

  • lol

  • If this is filmed on camcorder just relying on sound from speakers the mix is sensational!!!!

  • I seen Rush earlier this year and it was absolutely spot-on from all three of them. NO MISTAKES AT ALL!!! Absolutely amazing and this was not a big stop on the tour or a good Tuesday night audience. Either way I recommend them to anyone who likes to see good musicians have fun and play some good songs.

  • Best song off of Counterparts!!!

  • My favorite Rush song. These guys rock! Saw them on the Presto tour & nobody does a show like these guys. AWESOME!

  • i saw them twice in the snakes & arrows tour :D

i wish i couldve been around to see them in hold your fire xD

  • I'm just curious were did you see them? I saw them at the ford center in oklahoma city for the snakes and arrows tour

  • i saw them in st. louis

  • Fuck me I love Rush so fucking much I want them to play in Ireland I would pay anything haha like seriously I need to see this band someday

  • I wish they would put Cold Fire back on there set.

  • stfu marlint

  • it is a nice music

  • "Were gonna play the music that you love, and thats country and western music . . . and we're gonna' play 3 HOURS worth of it!" HAHAHAHA! that was great :P -MAVIII(prOgulus. c o m)

  • I remember seeing that bit in Charlotte, NC back in '94. Hillarious....

  • its 2 hours worth, not 3 hours...

  • Geddy , Alex & Neil = GOD !!!!

  • marlint the only reason im reading your comment was to read your solo!! and you!! just pull off boring pentatonic crap..you peace of shit

  • Excellent video! Nice to hear a good soundboard recording with some quality video! :-)

  • I'd heard that before, but never seen it...thanks for putting this up!

    Rush...the very best

  • i just tell you this rush rules

  • love the song, awesome band... and the sense of humor was priceless and unexpected! 20,40, 60, 90...they will ALWAYS kick ASS!

  • Love this song, band and people from band.Rush power of the best music!!!

I'm still wait for concert in Poland!!!

    Pozdro!!!

  • The intro is fuckin hillarious

  • Great guitar solo on the album version Meanwhile, Alex has failed to reproduce this amazing solo note for note when it came to playing it live. That never used to be the case.

  • what do you want for a 60-year old

  • Well he was only around 40 at the time of this performance.

  • i love it!!! the band is takin a new direction to country...geddy is a comedian!!

  • Yeah, if you like that, check out their performance of La Villa Strangiato from the Rush In Rio dvd. Alex is freaking hilarious in that.

  • lol. yea. "I like jazz, jazz is weird!"

  • she said gato barbiero?

  • Lovelovelove this song! Every strong woman's anthem...

    Oh...and Geddy *rocks*!!! <333

    No better band...anywhere.

  • Every desperate, frustratet man's anthem as well.seriously, how can you think this is a song to confirm women in what they do? i think it is more to sum up all things that men cannot understand, as women often say the opposite of what they want or mean. Just don't disappoint me, you know how complex women are

  • I totally agree with you. I think it's a guy who wants to take a relationship further physically because the emotions are there and she puts up boundries and he dosen't understand. Yes again I agree

  • It's art. Art is interpreted differently by different people. I'm sorry you've somehow been frustrated by one woman or another at one time or another. I'm sorry you've been made to feel desperate. Emotions are often times contradictory. Who wants to be let down or pushed down? IMHO the woman in question is merely standing up for herself--being honest, setting boundaries. Everyone has boundaries, even if his/her love is boundless. Seems reasonable to me. Anyway, that's my interpretation.

  • i love this song i wish they would do some songs from counterarts on the Snakes and arrows tour

  • My favorite Rush song. Thanks! The quality of your post is great.

  • One word for this song: Underrated. Very cool vid!

  • Tight. I was hoping this was gonna be on the S&A tour but oh well.

  • Very nice version!!!! thanks for the post!!!

  • nice:)

  • This is my favorite Rush song ever. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like Geddy went from singing like "Geddy" to singing a little more restrained (which is good). Awesome either way.

  • good song... Rush has quite a sense of humor.

  • Sound Great for a bootleg video !!!!!!!!!!!

  • im pretty sure this is the exact recording i have as an mp3

  • Yeah, you probably got it from the Rush Oddities site.
