i got blu ray ...but i also bought hd coz its so cheap an even tho they aint makin no more hds the back catalogue is big an cheap, for the price of a few blu rays i got the hd player an lots of hds ima get em all.the picture an sounds pretty good on most of em cant tell the dif between them an blu ray.....BARGAIN! so im glad they had a lil nerdy format war an lost lol coz there loss is my gain.MUAH!!! 8 )
plus why would anyone buy hd-dvds anymore cause there aint anymore coming out they stoped making them the only people buying them would be people who own the hd-dvd players that prob arent being sold anymore
same resolution, screenplay and sound depends on the codec used and its bitrate. Blu-ray allows higher bitrate (and obviously more space). So, an HD DVD ported to BD has the same quality (examples are Warner's titles)
I am a sony fans too. Everything I own are Sony, with exception of computer and mobile phone.
Toshiba is apparently still bitter. Their products do not include BD. And if you see samsung or any other laptop manufacturers, they have BD now (they were formerly DVD only manufacturer)
my tv is sony my sound system is sony my cell phone is sony i have a ps3 i have a ps2 and ps1 i had an sony dvd player and a sony VHS player. pretty much same as you then. About the laptops ye i know ive seen it. i would get one but their expensive as hell were i live.
vaio is overpriced. I bought 20 inch HP laptop with HD DVD for cheaper (HD DVD was the only option), then IMMEDIATELY replaced it with BD because my disgust with HD DVD.
My Sony products:
PS1 (EU), PS2 (Japan and Asia), PS3 (Japan and EU), PSP (original japan, and slim japan), hi-fi, cassette walkman, cd walkman, television (total=3), speakers, bluetooth headset, DVD player (2).
but my cell phones are nokia and HP.
BTW, I can publish all unapproved comments if you want to see their comments
Thats always been the greatest thing about the Playstation since the first one. The multi-media processing. Watching movies, Listening to music, Go on the Internet, Play Video Games. You can pretty much do anything on them. Its a pure home entertainment device!
btw even though hd dvd is dead i just wanted to tell some people that hd in hd dvd does not mean high definition it means high densety anyways bluray ftw
The only ones who hasn't dropped HD-Dud yet are Microshaft and Viacom. Microshaft, because they're desperate to tink away at Sony, and Viacom, because they're still held to their contract with Toshiba and they don't want to give the 150 million back.
the likes of sweeney todd and beowulf has been announced by warner UK in BD, and its region free. Well I live in UK, so US not really affecting me... and one comment is enough. I am not approving all of your comments as my videos are all BD-biased.
Blu-ray just sounds better. I'm sick of them just slapping "HD" in front of everything. HDTV was fine, HD-Cable...okay, HD-DVD.... sorry, please change. "Bluuu-Raayy" Yes finally. I mean shit, that HD crap got annoying pretty fast.
HD dvd fans you a have lucky for support a historical format, Blu-ray is the future but is not my dream, the dream is see a digital movie uncompressed,Without the stupid mpeg (1,2,3,4) ,uncompressed is the real HD video
YAY! besides, there's no reason for going with hd-dvd, potentially (just potentially) the blu-ray can store 200 gb, and hd-dvd only 80. And then of course there's the ps3 which will probably be the thing to win the war for blu-ray
The people has spoken 2 to 1 Blu-Ray will come out Victorious. and the percetage around the world give it up already HD is not gonna wanna look bad so they would lose a few more Mill to make it a fight to the death.
I was hoping for HD DVD to win when it first came out because I have an XBOX 360 and was considering buying the HD DVD ad on but after seeing where Blu Ray is going I cannot wait to get a HDTV and a kick ass Blu Ray player!

Good job! This video gives a clear simple way to compare the two formats, and as far as I can tell contains only well-documented information form major sources such as Nielsen Videoscan reports, Nikkei, etc. Facts and pictures speak better that pages of discussions.
Nice job! This is what it all comes down to: the consumers vote with their wallet. Toshiba bribing Paramount to go exclusive won't change the facts ;-)
Hay can you hear them crying right now cause I can. with the slow sad music in the back ground makes me feel so sorry for the HD- DVD fans. Blu Ray comes from behind them and pass them, Victorious. I don't know any personal HD- DVD fanboys but I'll like to bet some money of who's gunna win.
thank you for presenting the comparison

Bluray wins because its antiscrach and 1 disc can contain 60 GB!
and they are working on a way to get blury to work with 400 GB per disc so HD DVD and DVD's just got OWNED!

HD DVD lost because the branding of "Blu-ray" was sexier. FireFox did this for their browser. What? A browser called "FireFox"?

we're just reminiscing as BD supporters on how HD DVD fans behave during the war

sadly this vid probably had little affect on hd duders and xbots minds because of the simple fact that their brain cannot process simple logic.
Xuandes 3 years ago
yes, I remember the HD DVD-ers reputation of denying their format was dying. I love how they do it by spreading FUD, etc
people in their right mind would though BD win.
from the beginning, I never even consider HD DVD, because I know it was a dying format
wtanoto 3 years ago
ha me neither. lower bitrates, less storage capacity, lossy audio. no thanks. plus i love sony. hd dvd the look and sound of nothing.

Not to be an ass hole but if HD DVD goes then Microsoft's next XBOX Console has lost, if they want HD DVD for there games.
SONY's PLAYSTATION 3 has already won the competition since SONY is Blu-Ray.
Unless Microsoft has some trick up there sleeve to keep in the competition for NEXT-GEN Gaming Console/Systeme.

It should be obvious above that the consumer has spoken.
