  • They sound like crickets =)

  • Oh! I saw an elevator! Can you film it! It was at 0:12! Anyway...I know you don't want to give away the location...so just saw the brand and type! Can you? Please reply!

  • I've seen longer descriptions.

  • I got to do that once I asked the janitor and he said yes so he said next drill I can and the next drill was in 5 mins so that was a good day

  • I got to pull a fire alarm for a fire drill once since i was with the principal doing an interview it was the best way to get to pull a fire alarm in your childhood years my school has spectralerts that do code 3 we used to have an MT system that did marchtime but we a new pannel i think it is a Simplex i forget the model but when we had the MT it was a 4009 simplex we now have a simplex 4010

  • wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • next to the entrance/exit of the building, is that a panel?

  • wait the let u do the fire drill lucky

  • what alarm?

  • what kind of panel is that?

  • I like your floors. Much more interesting to watch than... you know... everything else.

  • I liked your Jr. High School. It had more variety in terms of alarms.

  • FIRE DRILLS SUCK!

  • Daaang. Nice school!

  • What state do you live in? I'm just curious. I'm in New York.

  • we have a gamewell 610 at our middle school with an annunciator in the front entrance the panel is back in the administration offices the alarms are the wheelocks as and some mt's out in the courtyard all on code three

  • Brandi

  • I think it is neat that you activated the alarms, even though the principal, and head custodian was beside you. Th e vice principal in my school, who was in charge of scheduleing the fire drills was a snot, and held fire drills at the stupidest times. and days.

  • My churchs alarm system which is a 100% simplex system has the same thing but this one also shuts off the churches power also

  • Hey NewAge. I love your fire alarm system at your house. The Simplex 9838 and Simplex 4899 T-Bar match my school.

  • I hate these sirens. Sound like crickets on steroids. I like buzzers better.

  • where did you get the key from

  • did they ever know it was you

  • my elementary school's fire alarm sounded just like that. Worst noise I have ever heard!

  • we have MTs set on continuous at my college

  • Dies the school only have MTs?

  • Um... WHAT?

If there is an actual fire, somebody can simply walk up to a small red box that says "FIRE" and lift a silver plate that says "LIFT" then pull a little round handle that says "PULL" and like magic, the fire alarm sounds!

  • @NewAgeServerAlarm Sorry. That comment was fail. Im more mature now...

  • hey at covington are fire alarms are the same but louder. like a nail going through ur skull!A FICKEN NAIL!

  • How do you set off the alarms by just pressing 1 button that says fire drill?

  • You just answered your own question.

  • manual evacuate, it has a dedicated button.

  • man i remember last year in my school we had a notifier system with notifier NBG 8 or Nbg-1r and wheelock MT's set on contiuous horn and we also had a couple of Gentex commander 3's and a couple of Notifier NBG12's but during the summer of 08 they replaced it with a faraday system with wheelock ZNS set on slow march time by the panel

  • What are the pulls now? Were the Commander3's also in comtinuous? Mechanical Tone?

  • It reminds me of the cicadas in July except even MORE obnoxious!

  • I liked your JH school better.

  • these are the kind of alarms we had when I was in jr. high

  • my skols fire drill is on a timer so i cant start it

  • EXTREMLY LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • im afraid of firedrils

  • I was also afraid of fire drills when I was a little

  • SO AM I!!!!!!i hate how loud mine is.its like a red box witha flasher.i don't know what kind it is.but it says FIRE on both sides.

  • Wow these alarms sound like a swarm of cicadas!

  • did u have permission to pull alarm? LOL jk

  • nice school

  • Did you ask your principal to initiate your next fire drill? Basically wondering how you got to do this..

  • What kind of fire alarms were they?

  • A mix of MT4-24-WM's and MT-24-LS-VFR. Pull Stations are addressable dual-action Gamewell Century.

  • Actually MT4-24-WM's and MT4-24-LSM's.

  • If those are 4-wire MTs, you should consider suggesting that they panel code them to code 3.

  • They are 4-wire, on two seperate NAC's. They have audible silence. They won't change the coding because when the school was built (1995), continuous was code for fire alarms in the town. For 1995, it's a very decent system.

  • what panel is that?

  • Two panels: Gamewell IdentiFire and Gamewell Zans 400.

  • Why does this school have two panels?

  • One is actually a panel, the other is a communicator with relays that do various functions in the building.

  • @DVaccarelli1988 one may be the anocceator panel that tells fire fighters what floor a detector is sounding and the other may be the conrol panel that monitors the differnt devices that set off the alarm

  • cool I wish I could do that

  • Thats your school? It looks pretty nice if you ask me compared to our schools!

  • Sweet!! Lucky. I need to ask the principal about this one day. lol

  • and what is an HVAC

  • Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning system.

  • did they ever catch you or did you have permision to do this ?

  • First, I counted 3, 2, 1. The head custodian was standing right next to me, as well as the principal and one of the assistant principals. That means yes I did have permission.

  • ah ok

  • I can't believe they didn't hear you say "Thank you!" as you were leaving that should've been a dead giveaway that you HAD permission

  • how did you get to do this?

  • T.A.C

  • When you said that you learned a lot about the system, what did you learn?

  • Most of the stuff I wrote in the description details what I learmed.

  • that hurts my ears.

  • sorry, fail as no pass because problem your video or fast too. I cannot see strobe light then you are failing!

  • you dont have to say I failed. I was moving kind of fast because they wanted me outside and I didnt get much of a chance to record the strobe.

  • You rarely see modern Gamewell systems like that these days

  • If you come to this town and look in the buildings on the college campus, you'll see a ton of new Gamewell addressable systems.

  • I suppose they have SpectrAlert and SpectrAlert Advance signals?

My elementary school (grades 1-6) and junior high school both had old Gamewell fire alarm systems. Most of the public schools in my city have either Gamewell, Edwards or Simplex systems. The two new schools they are building are most likely going to have Notifier systems. Blech!

  • Those buildings with the new Gamewell systems- since the college is very rich, they can afford the best. Addressable Gamewell panels, Wheelock SafePath 4 (or an Evax panel) and Wheelock E70's. Although once in a while you find a building with horn/strobes, and there are some Simplex systems here and there. Most of the buildings are voice evac (I only found two with horn/strobes so far).

  • That is interesting. Oh, and a correction on the two new schools in my city. Even though they have SpectrAlert Advance strobes on the outside, they actually have EST-3 voice-evac systems with Genesis speaker/strobes. So my school system now sticks with EST for new schools, doing so since 1998. As for colleges, one of my friends goes to Bridgewater College, and nearly all the campus is Simplex (mostly newer systems). Many of them have horn/strobes, but some are voice-evac.

  • nice vid. and when you can could you help me build an alertech fire panel?

  • Nice vid like usual.

  • So, if you were allowed to activate the alarm, how come you don't want to "get in trouble" if you tell us where this is?

  • I dont want to reveal the location. I was asked not to due to a terrorist concern.

  • Sorry, I didn't mean to intrude.

Can't wait 'till the next one.

  • so on every fire alarm control panel no matter if its school college or work place they have a fire drill button?

  • Not exactly. Some panels have a drill button and some don't. My homemade panel does along with the panel at my school.

  • The Gamewell Flexalarm panel at one of my elementary schools had a drill button/switch. The signals were Federal Vibratone 450 horns.

  • @NewAgeServerAlarm You serious? Why would im not even gonna ask

  • @NewAgeServerAlarm a "terrorist concern"? since when is pulling a fire alarm a terrorist attack?

  • @redsoxguy18 Obviously pulling a fire alarm is not, but the "terrorist" part is they are paranoid about something very bad---bomb, school shooting etc... happening to my (now former) school because some insane guy saw a video depicting a school and telling the name and getting a wild idea. I know, it makes no sense, but that's what they told me...

  • nice school

  • I agree. The school is 13 years old and it looks brand new!

  • nice.

  • nice, what panel is that?

  • Gamewell Identifire

  • And it looks like a Zans400 to the right.

  • Yes it is. It contains the relays mentioned in the description.

  • are they going to upgrade the fire alarms soon
