Oh! I saw an elevator! Can you film it! It was at 0:12! Anyway...I know you don't want to give away the location...so just saw the brand and type! Can you? Please reply!
I got to pull a fire alarm for a fire drill once since i was with the principal doing an interview it was the best way to get to pull a fire alarm in your childhood years my school has spectralerts that do code 3 we used to have an MT system that did marchtime but we a new pannel i think it is a Simplex i forget the model but when we had the MT it was a 4009 simplex we now have a simplex 4010
we have a gamewell 610 at our middle school with an annunciator in the front entrance the panel is back in the administration offices the alarms are the wheelocks as and some mt's out in the courtyard all on code three
I think it is neat that you activated the alarms, even though the principal, and head custodian was beside you. Th e vice principal in my school, who was in charge of scheduleing the fire drills was a snot, and held fire drills at the stupidest times. and days.
If there is an actual fire, somebody can simply walk up to a small red box that says "FIRE" and lift a silver plate that says "LIFT" then pull a little round handle that says "PULL" and like magic, the fire alarm sounds!
man i remember last year in my school we had a notifier system with notifier NBG 8 or Nbg-1r and wheelock MT's set on contiuous horn and we also had a couple of Gentex commander 3's and a couple of Notifier NBG12's but during the summer of 08 they replaced it with a faraday system with wheelock ZNS set on slow march time by the panel
They are 4-wire, on two seperate NAC's. They have audible silence. They won't change the coding because when the school was built (1995), continuous was code for fire alarms in the town. For 1995, it's a very decent system.
@DVaccarelli1988 one may be the anocceator panel that tells fire fighters what floor a detector is sounding and the other may be the conrol panel that monitors the differnt devices that set off the alarm
First, I counted 3, 2, 1. The head custodian was standing right next to me, as well as the principal and one of the assistant principals. That means yes I did have permission.
I suppose they have SpectrAlert and SpectrAlert Advance signals?
My elementary school (grades 1-6) and junior high school both had old Gamewell fire alarm systems. Most of the public schools in my city have either Gamewell, Edwards or Simplex systems. The two new schools they are building are most likely going to have Notifier systems. Blech!
Those buildings with the new Gamewell systems- since the college is very rich, they can afford the best. Addressable Gamewell panels, Wheelock SafePath 4 (or an Evax panel) and Wheelock E70's. Although once in a while you find a building with horn/strobes, and there are some Simplex systems here and there. Most of the buildings are voice evac (I only found two with horn/strobes so far).
That is interesting. Oh, and a correction on the two new schools in my city. Even though they have SpectrAlert Advance strobes on the outside, they actually have EST-3 voice-evac systems with Genesis speaker/strobes. So my school system now sticks with EST for new schools, doing so since 1998. As for colleges, one of my friends goes to Bridgewater College, and nearly all the campus is Simplex (mostly newer systems). Many of them have horn/strobes, but some are voice-evac.
@redsoxguy18 Obviously pulling a fire alarm is not, but the "terrorist" part is they are paranoid about something very bad---bomb, school shooting etc... happening to my (now former) school because some insane guy saw a video depicting a school and telling the name and getting a wild idea. I know, it makes no sense, but that's what they told me...

A mix of MT4-24-WM's and MT-24-LS-VFR. Pull Stations are addressable dual-action Gamewell Century.
NewAgeServer 3 years ago
Actually MT4-24-WM's and MT4-24-LSM's.
DVaccarelli1988 2 years ago
If those are 4-wire MTs, you should consider suggesting that they panel code them to code 3.
SystemSensor224 3 years ago

Two panels: Gamewell IdentiFire and Gamewell Zans 400.
NewAgeServer 3 years ago
Why does this school have two panels?
DVaccarelli1988 2 years ago
One is actually a panel, the other is a communicator with relays that do various functions in the building.
NewAgeServerAlarm 2 years ago
@DVaccarelli1988 one may be the anocceator panel that tells fire fighters what floor a detector is sounding and the other may be the conrol panel that monitors the differnt devices that set off the alarm

You rarely see modern Gamewell systems like that these days
wiley207 3 years ago
If you come to this town and look in the buildings on the college campus, you'll see a ton of new Gamewell addressable systems.

I dont want to reveal the location. I was asked not to due to a terrorist concern.
NewAgeServerAlarm 3 years ago

sfs2040 3 years ago
so on every fire alarm control panel no matter if its school college or work place they have a fire drill button?
markf1998 3 years ago
Not exactly. Some panels have a drill button and some don't. My homemade panel does along with the panel at my school.
FireAlarmJrTech9 3 years ago
The Gamewell Flexalarm panel at one of my elementary schools had a drill button/switch. The signals were Federal Vibratone 450 horns.
