  • south Africa is the only other country in the world that doesn't provide health care to its citizens. We pay more then enough taxes to have a healthy and affordable health care system. the problem is as obvious as the day is long.

    the Military Industrial Complex.

Eisenhower was a very strong proponent of UHC as a Republican. Just goes to show how far we've fallen when it comes to citizen awareness and comradery

  • "south Africa is the only other country in the world that doesn't provide health care to its citizens"

What the hell are you smoking? Are you saying that 188 other countries provide socialized healthcare? Your ignorance is amazing.

Just because one person (Eisenhower) may have believed something, doesn't mean the whole country has "fallen" if they don't go along with that one person's beliefs. What logic you possess!

  • FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, JFK all tried and failed at getting Americans adequate health care. Then Nixon came and created the Pay for being sick program that we suffer under today. Doesn't it seem strange to you that we live under a health care system that was created by a president that was IMPEACHED!? does that not seem the least bit strange to you? charging people for getting sick is like the Mafia making people pay for "protection"...

  • You should actually listen to what Dr Paul says about the health system. He hates the Nixon-instituted system, too, and has solutions based upon:

    (1) his absolute honesty, and independence from industry lobbyists (whom don't even bother knocking on his door),

    (2) his experience of ~30 years as a medical doctor (most recently, in 1996)

    (3) his experience of 20 years as a US Congressman

    (4) his vast economic studies

    (5) His intellect

That's the perfect combination you need to solve the problem

  • Ron Paul aint shit compared to Gravel.

  • You are such a fool, oldhacks. You patrol youtube, looking for any opportunity to disparage one of the greatest representatives the country has ever had, as if scoring some minor point is a great victory for your cause. Well, I've got news for you: Mike Gravel is a Dr Paul supporter, and he would not approve of your actions. When are you going to wake up, and realize it's not Gravel vs Paul, it's THEM (NWO/CFR-members, etc) vs *US* (We The People, represented by Paul, Gravel, Kucinich, Nader)?

  • Spend 5-10 minutes actually researching what he has to say on it. You'll probably be pleasantly surprised:

There's a video there, so all you have to do is press "play" on his image top right of your screen.

  • Umm... RON PAUL, a *MEDICAL DOCTOR*, is *STILL RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT*!

Why not consider a medical doctor with 20 years experience in office's opinion? He's delivered over 4,000 babies throughout his 30 years practicing medicine, and is an absolute financial-genius, as well.

  • ron paul is running for congress. He already conceded the nomination to John McCain months ago. You're living in a fantasy world.

If you want to vote for someone other then Clinton,Obama, McCain you have two choices. Nader or Gravel. PERIOD.

  • Haven't I beaten you senseless with logic and Truth before? You don't seem to have learned.

Dr Paul is STILL in the race for president, albeit acknowledging he cannot win in the traditional sense. That is, he's in the same situation as Nader and Gravel. Except that - unlike Nader and Gravel - Dr Paul has an entire MOVEMENT behind him, to help him get his message of peace, prosperity, and happiness, out to the world. And he continues to do that.

Once again, Oldhacks has been shown to be WRONG.

  • name one thing Ron Paul has gotten accomplished in his 30 year stint in congress? one thing.

  • Easy: He started a r3V0Lution that will save the country and its hundreds of millions of citizens from tyranny.

And for that, he will probably get a Greatest Man in History award, when all cards are played out, in a couple of decades.

It has taken his _20_ years in Congress, in which he never once sold out from his core principles, standing ALONE as a beacon of purity and of all that we have lost, to show just how far we have fallen, for us to find the spark within ourselves to follow his lead

  • Im no expert, but the major problem is that both insurance companies & hopitals/clinics are both for profit instutitions. These models create an environment that is not good for doctors or patients. Now add in drug producers and all the lobbyist involved = disaster. All the private corporations raping the average american citizens. Allowing any1 to profit off of sick people is just wrong, and Im not talking small profits either. Scare tactics has kept this system running for decades now.

  • We need a national health care charge card. You pay as you go. Five regional cancer institutes to eliminate waste in cancer research and other life threatening diseases. It would also decrease pharmaceutical drug coverage. Eliminate insurance companies since their profits which total in the billions are basically there to deny care. Have a three tier system of acute care, non-acute care and chronic care. Charge a minimum allowable to prevent waste and abuse. Eliminate the bureaucracy.

  • all we have to do is allow competition. Seniors started getting their drugs from Canada because its more affordable and then Bush made it illegal. People always tout "America is where all the specialists are" you know why that is? because this is the only country where you can get rich off the backs of sick people.

  • I agree. Here the doctors are pissed because Medicare sets the rates by which they get paid. Every year Medicare cuts their fees by ten percent. Then the insurance companies follow Medicare's lead and cut their fees to the doctors. Then Medicare cuts again because they look at how the HMO's are cutting again. The doctors fees keep spiraling down. The insurance companies in the meanwhile are making a killing because they own Congress. Increasing their premiums and deductables.

  • "making a KILLING" is exactly right!

  • sorry for the double entendre but it is true. The insurance companies would kill the patient to save a buck.

  • What an excellent coverage of a problem that affect so many. Health shouldn't be a privilege, it must be a right. Most developed countries offer their citizens some form of healthcare, many developing countries support public hospitals for those who can't afford to pay, but the US offers neither. Medicaid leaves many working class families out. The very poor gets some form of basic healthcare, the very rich can pay for it, but the middle class has no options, completely dependable on employers.

  • i'm pretty sure the plan might be to have a new kind of unnatural selection, where the rich are more likely to procreate than the poor. As well it is a way to drain all the money away from people who have life savings. This way there will be great disparity enforced by private armies where the feeble rich will hold absolute sway over the firtile poor. The rich gotta have some people to push around and crush under their Nazoid boots.
