  • @rotarolla85 - Its a genuine ROOTES blower from a Commer Diesel, very popular in the late 60s early 70s - period correct for the engine I suppose you could say

  • whats that going into?

  • Give it the jandel bro!!!

  • For those of you who are trying to doing their homework, a 202 is a 3.3 litre engine.

That means, for all intents and purposes, this engine has six cylinders.

Most of you can figure out why that must me the case. May I enlighten the rest of you:

"Its too big to be a four cylinder, yet too small to be an eight cylinder"

    Correct.

    This is a straight six.

Would anybody here like to take a punt as to why arranging the cylinders in a 'Vee" formation would prove beneficial?.

  • sweet...years gone by just about every bloke in Australia knew how to soup up his holden-another dying art in australia ,it will be a sad day when the thongs disappear :0

  • straight 6 dude

  • One of the best holden v6's ever built. :D

  • @vidmanproductions FAIL. YOU IDIOT. GET OUT OF AUSTRALIA. NOW.

  • Thats awesome. Go the old girls.... and the Kmart Pluggers. Best thongs around.

  • @AntipodeanAl The blue motors run improved heads, electronic ignition, and the dreaded Varajet carburettor in stock form. The head is an improvement, as is the electronic ignition. The rest of the emissions crap, if your car isn't legally required to have it, don't bother.

  • hey great job on that motor, it sounds wild. hoping to do something like that to my 202 red motor

  • sounds amazing, it revs like a tuner too haha whats the HP

  • NOW! THAT'S A FUCKIN' BUZZIN HALF DOZEN!

  • That sounds great.

  • What car did this engine go into? I could see it in my VK commy! lol

  • sounds fuck well !!! nice one !

  • Awesome job man, never thought i would see anything like this on a 202 motor. I use to have a hq ute with the 202 motor in, but pulled it out and put a 327 chev in, dam now i know for next time just put a supercharger on instead he/he. Great work mate keep it up.

  • Fucking awesome man, sounds tops. 6 POWER!

  • can you tell me what manufacturor you bought this of or how you built it

  • Would love that in a HB torana!!!

  • can i plaese put that in my eh

  • That sounds great. A six has a cool sounding lope.

  • Best Sounding 202 Ever.

  • Beast!

  • its going in a drag dirt bike?!!!!

Surely u would get more bhp from a supercharged bike engine?

they get over 500bhp from 1000cc ones.

  • Sounds great, wondering what your planning to put that in? That is the great thing about those old cars, there would be enough room under the hood of my kingsy to fit two of them, an esky and that macdonalds douche.

  • wow this 202 is insane

  • gotta love aussies working on an engine in the garage wearing thongs...

  • Haha thats one tuff blower vac!

  • Tuffest sounding 202 I have hurd

  • iv got a vk calais n i want u motor in my vk it awesome

  • hah i had a red fuel inject recon/strked 202 and it sounded better than that. drop into a body and see whats its got!

  • haha 0:41

  • Sick.

  • WOOOOOOOOOOWW, thats sounds so cool.

  • Im gunna try to turbo a 192 red motorand was woundering what compresion ratio your running, cam profile and if you have any idea on how much boost stock internals can take.

  • I prefer my 179 HD X2 motor that I bored out to 190, ran twin Delortos, and did everything to the bored out motor that could be done in 1979.

Coupled up with a Rod Hatfield converted Celica 5 speed, I was keeping up with SLR 5000's, GTHO's and Charger 265's.

All tucked into a HR Panel Van with carpeted and matressed rear, where at night it became a peaceful environment to relax and woo my love one. 70's rock as the best decade.

  • who really gives a shit what you have to say

  • Hey big boy, I had a look at your profile. What's this fixation with Simon and Garfunkel? They were good, but you seem to have them as your poster boys. Eeeeks. :-)

Do you know what was so special about an X2 red motor? Probably not.

  • Music to my ears, all I need now is to get one to fit in my 76 LX Hatch.

  • the old 202 cant kill'em

  • So how is the "bike" coming along now? Must be insane.

  • very nice, what make is the super charger

  • black, red or blue?? i got a 1984 holden blue 202...im 14 and need to make it sweet ass..but for under $1000..i no alot about motors...i pull them apart for fun

  • And I bet when you put the parts back on you don't torque them down to specs and ratings. Nonetheless putting the parts back in the same place before you dismembered them!

  • Not everyone is that stupid.

  • True that!

  • Not alot for that price... A cam maybe... But you'd need to do some head work also. And improved breathing, so you'll need anew exaust. Build one to HQ Raceing specs. Keep your stromberg, run high compression, 13-1... You'll need to run premium fuel though, or you'll stuff your motor.

  • 13-1 with a supercharger. Wake up buddy.

  • @simmo595 A blue is a good start. The original Varajet carby is a huge mistake, ditch it for the Stromberg 2 barrel they fitted to 253 V8s. If you can make friends with a machine shop, port out the head slightly, and get a cam matched to them. Headers are a very good idea, as you can get in increase in both power and fuel economy in the same hit. Of course, it also helps if you refit the rest of the exhaust as well

  • If you really want power with an Holden 202 You should go for an 202 Black Or Blue and get the VK EFI Manifold etc. Check this video out of this VK Commodore its called

GREENVK turbo 202 engine start after respray

Its got a 202 Black Motor with an Turbo and its EFI. The owner says he is working on it to put out 300 Kw (402 HP) his site link is in the video info.

  • should atleast keep up with alot of the newer jap engines, which is outstanding for an old red motor.

    keep it up!!

  • what you putting it in :P? a gasser?

  • good too efi on it, cant stand seeing carbies sitting on blowers.

  • sounds like a wicked grind cam ! nice

  • can you make a supercharger for the EFI 202?

if you can how much do you charge?

  • can i please borrow that for my ej?:D

  • should make at least 200hp, lol

  • the best six ever!

    Keep up the good work

  • oh yeah, awesome motor, love what youve done to it,hope to hear it more.

  • hey ive got a 202 red motor in my lh torana,i was wondering what the name of that supercharger youve got and how much it is? thanks mate.

    tom

  • totally agree kaegis yes i am a v8 man my life and this must have to be the best ever 6 202 supercharged i have ever saw

  • Fcken Oath...wat a nutsack... thats the best damn 6cylinder Ive ever seen and heard... Ima V8 man now, but have had 6's all my life n .....Damn.. wat a cranker.

  • nice engine, good work

    ...sounds awesome

  • sounds so nice 4 an old 6 go the good old 202

  • is that a six banger??

  • mcdonaldsisscum he fucks himself every night with hes dildo and then eats poo out of hes arse and he a kid fucker watch out everyone kill him

  • What a clunking bucket of bolts!

Sounds like it should have a brass plate on the side saying: "Proudly made in England in 1865"

What a noisy heap of crap.

Gee, could I get you to put it in my BMW to make it smoother? (LOL)....

  • wanker ^^^^^

  • Take it like a man...

  • u take it like a bitch

  • You have to turbo a 3.3 litre engine to get any real power out of it? Obviously GM don't have a clue how to design an effective engine!

    BTW, you're 'really' safety aware..!

I reckon the government allowing GM & Ford into this country was a VERY big mistake!

  • my god u r such a wank

  • fkn tuff

  • thats bloody awesome mate. just a quick question, do you know (or estimate) how many hp its putting out?. how much did it cost roughly?

  • ...too much I'll bet....

  • mate, it is quite obvious u are a tosser, really, maybe you should tell the top fuelers what should be done as u seem to be very clued on.....wanker....when u were a twitch in ya dads nutsack these engines were winning bathurst...so maybe u should either go to bed little boy, or grow the fuck up....

  • well said mate.

  • Problem is: this is an American engine, not Australian. Australia has never been "allowed" to have a car make. Never.

  • Comment removed

  • @AustralianBornNbred They may have borrowed a few American ideas, but there is no other engine on the planet quite like them; to survive for 20 years with upgrades is a good effort. As for not bein "allowed" to have a car make, there have been dozens of them over the years, including the now successful Elfin. look it up

  • that holden 202 fucking ballistic meth supercharged what are you going to run it in drags speedboat speedway love it

  • love it holden six cylinder

  • Now THAT IS COOL!

    We Did This 1972!

    B

  • Great sound!!! Im not familiar with "red motor" What exactly are they? any knowledge would be appreciated!!!

  • A motor produce by GM (Holden Australia) for their passenger cars from early 60s up till the early 80's I think. 6 cyl in a variety of sizes from 149 - 202 cubic inch. Very basic engine but with some fiddling perform amazingly well

  • can you guys do chargers for 202s?

  • @VYXtreme Very well said, mate!

  • @VYXtreme yeh it was up to 202 but i also been told u can shove a ford inline 6 crank in em and make em a 246 or something not bad idea tho but do more reserch just in case haha :-)

  • @RamblerTurbo They were Holden's universal engine from 1964-1984. Came in 138, 149, 161, 173, 179, and 202 cubic inches. Holden also built their own 253 and 308 cubic inch V8 engines. They called them the Red 6 because that's the factory colour of it. With the exception of crank and pistons, any part can be replaced on it without taking the engine out

  • @RamblerTurbo They borrowed some chevy technology, such as hydraulic lifters, and electronic ignition in later models, but they are all fairly easy to modify and service. I've seen these with GM 6/71 blowers on the side of them before. There is a chance you may find one in North America. Holdens were exported there from 1966 onwards in small numbers. Today, it's the recent Pontiac GTO, Pontiac G8 and Chevrolet "police Caprice"

  • @RamblerTurbo There is a slight chance you'll bump into one in North America. Holdens were exported to America in limited numbers from 1966, allegedly wearing Chevy badges. The red sixes are very adaptable, and the 202 particularly has a lot of low end torque. The 202 needs crank balancing for high revs, although the 186 is a "square bore;" stroke is almost equal to bore size.

  • @RamblerTurbo ....HEY DICKHEAD ....A RED MOTOR IS A MOTOR COLOURED RED YOU DUMB FUCK

  • @RamblerTurbo a piece of shit is what they are, get a v8. i would only use a 202 to chock me fkn wheels.

  • @skatking83 id have to agree with you ...with all that money it puts out what a stock v8 would...chevy did make bigger 6's too i had a 250(pos) and they had a bigger one ,292? i think it was

  • @skatking83 - you wouldn't say that if you lived in Queensland and had to pay over $100 more to register a V8.

  • @JBofBrisbane i do live in Queensland and i do pay over $100 to register my V8. Look mate its just my opinion, i never tried to insult anyone like you are here to me. Move on.

  • nice. the twin t/bodies is a great set up.did you do the work yourself?

  • It all belongs to a friend, I don't lay claim to any of it

  • do you know where he got the twin t bodies set up from?

  • Hey buddy. Could you please givve me more info on this engine. have you put the motor into anything yet? any vids if so? how much HP is the 202 puttting out now? how much approx to build one like this? would you sell this motor if the offer was there? thanks

  • sounds wicked!

  • man when u put this motor in what ever it is u have got do another vid

  • Funny thing with a red motor is, when superchargers are added, they sound like fricken rotary's!! Must be cuz they spin so fast n all. but theres on FED in Sydney with a blown 202 doing 8's if u can beleive it.

  • A Red motor is a Red motor no matter what capacity. I worked in an engine shop in the 70s and 80s building engines for circuit, drag and speedway use and saw good and bad in all sizes. My personal favourite is a 186 but we got more mumbo out of 202s when the star fire rods became available and blue motor cranks (also Irving Heads if you had a money tree!). Plenty of insurance then for revability but I never built an engine to the tune of this one! Good luck fellas!

  • Dus it really sound that good or have you dubbed sound over it from something els?

  • Sound is genuine, don't know how to dubb anyway :). Yep genuine pipe music from the heart of the red motor

  • @imn06c yer it is that good, thats my dad.

  • Nice setup man whats the HP increase with the blower.

  • nice thongs mate

  • Not mine :) belong to owner of the engine

  • nice work mate im running the wade r020 version on my 202 that wade ro34 that your running would pump a bit more air tho

  • 186 bored to 192 is the way to go

  • 202s r a good motor but if ya want to go harder rev harder go the 186 nuthing rong with a 202 but still nice motor

  • nuckin futs man!!!!!!!!!

  • MAAAATE!

  • screw u dickheads my dads 202 would smash a 186. go to my channel and watch my vid called 6 cylinder fj holden on the dyno. its powered by a 202 and nothing happens to the pistons if u use the trick and actually think

  • Thats nice, but mechanically a 186 is better. Both 186 and 202 motors use the exact same block. The difference is the crank on the 186 has a shorter stroke and therefore they have less moving mass, more free revving, higher rev range and stronger conrods as a result of them being shorter - effectively meaning the 186 has less distance to travel for 1 revolution of the crank than the 202.

  • Would it sound better with a proper exhaust.

  • the shit

  • 202's are shit

  • No one said they were good lol

  • i did visit my channel and watch the fjholden on the dyno its powered by a 202

  • You idiot, do you have any idea WHY the 202 is comparatively shit compared to 186? Heres a hint - its not the pistons like you seem to think. There is no "trick" to making a 202 better than a 186 unless you have found a way to defy all the laws of physics.

  • Would go nicely with my EH Holden...

  • 202's are shit cause they fuck up pistons all the time. 186 all the way

  • i agree no5 piston especially, 186's handle being worked more.

  • hey could u please send me the specs cheers

  • thats fukn nuts lol

  • what the fuck that sounds like a drag car or soemthing i want one for my 202

  • vYX you better go visit the spermbank before you climb on that thing .

  • Crazy but nice any way ,I really would not want that blower to blow between my legs on the bike.

  • Its on

  • Me either lol, roasted nuts

  • I love it, makes me wish i still had my wade, i am going to a m90 now and i am tight for space, what manifold is that based on, i was going 2x2" SU carbs, did it take much to set up the injection, what computer is it, what sort of boost, what cr is it, what pistons did you use? the owner must have pretty big nuts.

  • sorry, should have read and looked better before i posted, mech injection, acl cast pistons. 8.8:1 cr

  • Well it has only one "head" so maybe thats why its only 300hp approx :)

  • LOL, but yeah, I just figured you could pull more with a blower. I know its posible to pull 300 aspirated (Granted expensive work to get there).

  • 300hp sounds a little weak for a blown 202 with a cam and heads.

  • Cam is a mid 70's "speedway" grind whatever that means, head is Yella Terra Stage 3 with mods, pistons ACL 8.8:1 cast, all the other little mods you would expect to find. Otherwise runs on 100%methanol via mechanical injection and there is usually a film of ice around the blower after a run. No coolant in engine as it is not needed.

  • have u got any info on the set-up mate? like wats inside the 202?

  • A 202 with this sort of setup might crack 300hp if all is going well.

  • wat kinda power figures were u expecting from the 202??

  • Sound good, but they all sound fast on the jack stands. Take it to the starting line to see what it will do.

  • Its just a toy for the owner, he is putting it into a bike frame for dirt drag action.

  • Very unusual. Sounds surprisingly responsive for such an old fashioned (long stroke?) configuration. Good luck with it.

  • Holden six, supercharged. Thats a great old school engine. What type of car do you plan to put it into? I hope that you post a video when its done. It would be cool to see it run!!!

  • Not going in car, owner is putting it in a drag bike for dirt drag racing!!
