  • i agree with the comments, it is in the Squarepusher / AFX mould, but it's not just a 'bad' copy, it's class. In fact, are you Squarepusher / AFX in disguise?

  • Are you processing that 303? It sounds really similar to the way Squarepusher has his set up in The Modern Bass Guitar.

  • @FreshmanThesis That's an awesome compliment, thanks ^__^ There's not really that much going on with the 303 module. Although the initial state of the synth is just a 303 emulation to begin with, so I kind of tweaked the filter and pushed it to go a bit further in the blurpy direction, and I added an osc =) Beyond that there is a wee bit of compression, and I'm running it into a sample rate reduction/ bit depth conversion module to get the crunchiness. Thanks for asking, hope this helps!

  • @ticklesitter Ah, it's the subtle things that do it. It sounds fantastic. You don't happen to know where I can get emulator, do you?

  • @FreshmanThesis I could send you the individual 303 module for reaktor, but if you're not a reaktor user, I recommend AutoBassLine. It's a vst that's about as close to a real 303 that you'll find from what's currently available in software format. But I definitely recommend if you're a reaktor user, to get on NI's user library, there's alot of useful information and brilliant programmers.

  • @ticklesitter I am a reaktor user, albeit a not very skilled one, haha. And if you could send it to me, that'd be awesome. I'd like to tinker with it a bit and get a sense for how it works.

  • sounds like Aphex Twin

  • Instant subscription. This is some of the most profound tech I've ever seen. I can't even fathom how it all came together. Really makes me want to learn reaktor.

  • seems like a nice cross of squarepusher and v-snares

  • thanks man, I really dig your max modules too. Check out part 3, I started getting into 3d motion graphics that interact with audio, so naturally I combined this concept with After Effects :D check it out when you have a few minutes.

  • jeez. haha!

  • lol sry, I didn't have a chance to check out your stuff until today :) better late than never, hehe

  • Awesome, inspires me to learn some reaktah :):):)

  • same here :)

  • thanks kindly, and I really dig Combichrist, let me know if you guys ever wanna collab ;D I'd love to do some splatter remixes, and maybe a few originals for you guys to mangle in return ;)

  • that sounds good however idk how good ill be. aside from currently learning reaktor (maybe max as well), i regularly use renoise, fl on an occasion, and ableton. but I am definitely interested

  • oh don't sweat reaktor man, it's just another tool. I'm also fluent with renoise, FL, and ableton, so any ideas you want to toss back and forth I'm all about it. I haven't been all that productive as of late, but it's about time to come out of my musical sabbatical ;) Hit me up anytime man, I'm on youtube constantly, I'm completely addicted :D

  • I've seen that Reaktor can make this kind of stuff with ease, but, mate, this is one great performance! Will be re-listening! :D

  • pretty bloody slick. i need to listen to it properly, but this is quite immense. i give you props. i recently tried out the finger ensemble, pretty decent. but not as complex as this or not something i can appreciate as much. dopeness

  • thank you kindly, fine sir. That means alot to me. I owe it to the master though, this ensemble wouldn't exist without Tim Exile's keymasher concept. the skills required to design/build a device to stream live audio to a digital audio buffer is far beyond my comprehension, but the potential of such a device is definitely within my wavelength. Thanks again, I'm never sure if what i'm doing is too much, but I've decided there's no such thing, there's always room for tweaking. thanks again!

  • good times

  • sounds incredible! reaktor has always frightened me with its complexity but i've frequently heard what a powerful tool it is, i now see why. good stuff, thank you.

  • wow, that's harsh and inaccurate. Of course I used prefab macros, and naturally, I modified the hell out them to my liking. I'm a musician not a programmer, and i posted this video to simply share this composition and it's capabilities. This ensemble wouldn't make much sense to anyone else, alot of controller change msgs that would be difficult to make sense of. But, you could copy and paste this yourself apparently, so go ahead and try.

  • btw, this entire comment was copy and pasted from other publications, but apparently the message i've managed to formulate to you is indeed it's own creation now, and all the sources themselves are now irrelevant, my intention was still executed. You feel me?

  • i'm gonna have to say no. Sry, but you'll thank me later, when you decide to learn Reaktor enough to build this kind of ens for yourself. You'll be more satisfied by building your own setup, rather than if I just simply gave you this ensemble (that's taken about 6 months to develop). I'll give you a tip, you can learn everything you need to know from the ex. patches, just start picking and pulling individual macros from other ensembles that could be useful for your own patches. thx though ;)

  • Well, it gets interessting at 3:00 .. Don't really know what to say about it. Produce some full-lenght tracks and ask again. :D I don't know shit about this stuff.

  • no worries, that is kinda the goal though ;) producing full length tracks (although not really sure what "full length" incorporates). I just figure as a major connoisseur of electronic music you could appreciate this kind of thing without any prior experience with sequencing. thanks for checking it out ;)
