as acting and overall quality of films, i think the fountain, or RFAD is the best, the fountain had a huge complex story, with alot of influences of religions, and things, and special effects. RFAD was a great, realistic drama, and Pi has the greatest and most meaningful and creative idea to it, but it kinda seems like a low budget movie.

ok first of all, i really dont give a SHIT about how many thumbs downs im gonna get from this comment, but imo, pi was built like it was for a mathematician and not a general audience, it was just way too confusing. requiem for a dream was pure masterpiece and it had better themes.

Actually, 'Pi' was about the price you pay for the pursuit of ultimate knowledge and how such obsessions lead to alienation, exploitation and psychological degradation to the point of suicide.

'Requiem' was great, too, but 'Pi' was really fantastic.

I thought this and Requiem For A Dream were very similar and both pretty awesome, The Wrestler was pretty good too but The Fountain was just plain confusing xD

The most intresting is that this movie is not science fiction everything in nature is sequences i believe that fibonacci secuence and pithagoras sequences can represent the hole universe in mathematics...We can use mathematis not only for describing the world but also we can edit the world.Spirals is the answer we know that manu things in our life are based in fibonacci and pythagoras spiral...shells-flowers-engine­s-nuclear reactions-quantum movements-galaxies all of them are based in spirals!

You are right but the coincidences are too many:how can you explain that flower helios is exactly a representation of fib sequence or shells??Thats simple occasions but what about quantum mechanics and fib sequence>>?

I wouldn't say its better, they are all different movies despite the same director but it certainly is worth the watch even it may be confusing the first time round. :)

In The Fountain you can tell that they ran out of budget so the film feels like a mess! But its still miles better than the poo churned out by Hollywood these days. Hope this helps.

as for which movie is the best one its a matter of opinion, but id say requiem for a dream is the worst of three, even though its still a good movie.

Also I'd like to brag right now that my dad is working on the directors house right now (and has been for about a month) for some type of electronic shit or something. He said he house his awesome and filled with cool shit from his movies. I'm visiting my dad in two weeks and I hope he's still working on that perticular house! :>
