  • you are soo ugly man!

    just not beautyful!

    yuk

  • But being "beautiful" for you is all I'm living for!

    AGHHHHHHHH

    .......SuicidalTendencies

    GoodByeEveryone........

  • So many dumb people in this small world....

  • WOW. Just by calling him ugly you let the whole world know how ugly you are on the inside. Go die in a hole while us ugly people treat each other well and live in harmony.

  • WHERE are the Basses??? Show some real Bass-Sounds with the new Moog-Filter!

  • Is it drums patterns on the access virus ?

  • KIDS PLAY NICE :D

  • Thanks for showing some of the other types of sounds the virus is capable of. If you are ever inclined I'd love to hear some of the softer less gritty parts of it.

It seems silly to go on about this synths digital qualities. It is extremely digital and probably along with kurzweil, MnM, one of the best digital synths at that. One may hate the sound or not but it is popular for a reason. Which brings on another level of hate as well.

Thanks for kicking the trance to the side for the vid

  • theres something about this synth that i hate....but theres also something that i love. i have to agree with someone who once said this thing sounds like plastic. thats exactly what this sounds like!

  • plastic that stabs you in the face :-) you want the bass? you can't handle the bass

  • I don't know why you even enabled ratings for this vid. Every ones going to give it a bad review due to it not being some cheesy trance song. That being said I'm glad you posted it, because it actually gives some insight on patch creation on the virus and how it sounds outside of a mix.

  • analogs vs. digitals.....fight

as much as i respect what robert moog has done. I prefer Access hardware over Moog anyday

  • Ignorance is bliss.

  • robert moog is actually one of my musical hero's. he paved the way for years to come concerning synths tonal wise i just find what access does more to my liking

  • virus is a digital synth and it sounds extremely digital. it can make a lot of digital noises. if you want analog bliss, you won't find it here.

virus sounds very much like a vst plugin because it is dsp software embedded on hardware chips.

  • One last thing, what I think is a joke is having to rely so heavily on effects just to get some flexibility from your instrument. I was gonna make that point but you beat me to it. LOL!

  • So much tension in this world......

  • Forgot to mention, the virus TI has a great one pole cascade filter that's just mean. It'll chew up your Source and spit it out. But again, to each their own I guess.

  • This was a great demo. You people are jackasses

  • It's nice man, but kicks missing.

  • Where are the Basses?

  • He's doing a better demo than most of the other jack a**es here on youtube ! 'Retrosound' to name one example LOL....those demos are a joke ! Nice one XY. I used to own a Virus....sold it because analogue bass blows digital bass out of the water ! It's just a soft synth in a box... it's good for ethereal pads though .....

  • Spoken like a true amateur. Learn how to program and maybe your digital bass wont suck so bad.

  • It sounds thin and weedy! I have had numerous virus' , kept trying to convince myself but your ears never lie! It's sample based software....not pure waveform....being all chopped up by the poor D/A converters doesn't help either ! ....The MOOG source eats it...your telling me it's filter is better than the famous cascading moog filter !! HAHA !

  • You might learn someday, if given enough time. I've never been partial to the Moogs. The filters are entirely a matter of personal taste. Personally, I need options when it comes to programming, options a moog just can't offer. Moog doesn't sound good enough for me to settle for the cliche bass sound on every piece of work I do.

  • Sound at source is there....you use effects to sculpt the sound. The effects in the Virus are a joke to my Eventide DSP7500 !! The reverb is muddy and dark and the whole synth just sound muddy to me. Cliche bass sound ?? never heard that one before !! HAHA The Virus TI is just another softsynth in a box.... My Oberheim Xpander makes it sound SOOOO thin !!! and it has a complex modulation matrix also.... You can program it so that one note can last 62 mins !!

  • Calm down buddy! Look, you have to understand why analog synths got so popular in the first place. It's not becaus they are able to produce a wide range of cutting edge sounds. By your own admission, you have to use a shitload of effects to get some flexibility out of your analogs. A quick comparison of the tech specs of most analogs vs. VAs will reveal the winner there. They got big because while they are limiting in their scope, what they can produce sounds good. If you are willing to take a

  • hit in the creative department for "that analog sound", go for it. I'm not. Your claims are ridiculous. There's no way you can get the flexibility out of your analogs you will be able to with a VA. Also you need to read up on what the difference is between software and hardware. A softsynth is programmed to use your computers cpu and sound card while a hardware synth, digital, has fully dedicated hardware inside for the soul purpose of creating and scuplting sound.

  • So stop getting worked up and making stupid claims. I'm sure you make great church music with your analogs.

  • haha cheers for the bass samples buddy!! thanks audio hijacker!

  • Use a video editor to cut out all the bits when you're not playing the synth. The first 40 seconds are you gawping at the computer monitor and pressing buttons!

  • nice

  • Why on earth are you playing the bass patches in the higher octaves? give us the low end boy!!

  • I've to quote!! ROFL!!

  • why you giving the kid a hard time. He's about 14 years old and e's on his way to becoming a talented synthesist. Why be negative.

  • if only

  • ahh well... if ppl arent so hard on him. then wud take him longer to learn what makes a good sound. i thort it sounded good. but ya. critisism is for the better. :D

  • arp. + bass = gewd time

  • cool, thanks!

  • Could you repeat that please?

  • haha

  • Yeah

I will do a multimode demo in the near future

there will be many fat bassline sequences triggered with ableton

Much more thought will go into the demo.

It WILL be BASS oriented, and super PHAT!!!

This video was somewhat of a failure, but I will please next time for sure.

SORRY EVERYONE FOR THE LACK OF BASS

    "MORE BASS"

  • I think its youtube clipping a lot of the sound, the Virus engins are so powerful <3 I love em <3 I'm getting one myself soon. Looking to drop my JP-8080 and MC-808 for a AVC or the new TI2 if nova music keeps open box ones for a bit

  • cool, thanks!
