haha i was wondering the guitar part too and - not criticism, just a suggestion (especially since i've never song-written before) -it might be better to leave original part where YOU comfort the person that belongs to you as opposed to the other way around, i.e. "you're the one who made me laugh, I tell you about my dreams" since it makes the singer in the song seem like an even better person and it's even easier to sympathize with their justification of "you belong to me"

last comment, lol. I get the perspective thing. I just thought it was better to leave the part I was talking about alone or make it even more dramatic, like: "I remember you driving to my house in the middle of the night, I'm the one who stops from com-mitting suicide" hahaha, that's really dramatic (and not particularly light-hearted), but I'm trying to get that point across where the storyteller/singer is the great person that deserves to have the crush. That's my rationale at least.
