  • And by the way...spend your day however you see fit. I'm at work and slacking off, so if you have something better do to, have at it.

  • I just want to say Tyler, that I am not bashing you. I'm really not. If you enjoyed this film, more power to you. I guess the original had been around for so long that the initial impact it created has subsided by the time you found it. That's what I meant by your age. As for this, I really hoped they would get it right, but I don't think they did, at all. Just my opinion. Judging from the responses it's getting, I'm nowhere near alone in that assumption.

  • Nightmare 1 was class Nightmare 2 was a re boot of the same thing but it was still decent and Nightmare 3 tried to do something differant but it was starting to sell out to the Mtv Generation thanks to the owners of the film cashing in on the Genre.

  • I dont know why so many people are bitching about Englund and the new Nightmare remake?May i remined you Nightmares 4 to 6 were crap. After part 3 it was all about comedy or crap smoke and rock roll effects which were a shadow of part 1.Nightmare got popular and sold out to the MTV Generation in the 80s.

  • @suckyamomma30 I'd take Robert Englund's "crap" 4 thru 6 over this horrible shell of a film any day. Can you honestly tell me, after seeing it, that this new film is anything new? Sure, Freddy's a child molester now and the micro-nap thing is in place. Wow, they spent all that money to make two changes to it. I'd rather watch the TRAILER of 'Dream Master' than watch this entire film. This movie was made strictly for money and nothing more.

  • Freddy's Dead is the final Nightmare and that one tells you Freddy's past.

  • What do you all think about these horror remakes? The Thing, The Fly, The Blob, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Cat People, Dawn of the Dead, The Hills Have Eyes, Last House on The Left, The Ring and King Kong or Night of the Living Dead? all good remakes.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Not all are bad. Alot of remakes are great and find ways to cleverly highlight the original while keeping their own charm enough that its not pointless to make. Michael Bay Remakes have a track record of being terrible though.

  • @Emporerofkortoph

Well Texas Chainsaw i thought was decent, Amityville was good and Friday The 13th was hardly a remake just another sequel in the series disguised as one.

  • it wasn't a remake it was never calle done! idiot! it was a reboot.

  • @bartman30012

Ok so Friday The 13th is a reboot and sort of a true sequel to the original classic.

  • is that michael bay

KILL HIM SHOOT HIM MAIM HIM WHY IS HE STILL ALIVE AND SPEAKING DESTROY THIS THING BEFORE HE RUINS HELLRAISER ITS WE THATS LEFT

  • without Robert Englund it's only crap

it's like Rocky Balboa with Hugh Grant or something like that

  • Not true, please see the movie before you judge.

  • @Tyler153682 I have seen the movie and I think it was shit. Sam Bayer has shown in his interviews that he didn't respect the film or it's legacy. We all know that Fuller and Form do not respect the films they've been ripping off for the last few years. Only Haley seems to know what he was getting into. With that said, he was nowhere NEAR as effective as Robert Englund. The "wait and see" debate can be put to bed....this movie sucks.

  • @nWo24life I have seen the film aswell and thought it was better then the original, not gonna give my reasons why cause then i will just get trolled by rabid fanboys. Only thing I will say Is that Jackie is a more effective Freddy when it comes to being creepy/scary unlike the Freddy from Nightmare 4 - Freddy Vs Jason.

  • @Tyler153682 Then send me a personal message telling me your reasons. I honestly don't see how you could think this version is scarier than the original. I'm not saying this in a negative way, but can I ask your age? Really, I'm not demeaning you. I just think a film laced with jump scares, bad make-up, horrible CGI, and a script with holes all through it can't compare to a film with great direction, nice pacing, and special effects that cost nothing but still hold up.

  • @nWo24life 1/2 I am 16 but I hardly see how my age makes a difference In this, I have the Nightmare boxset on the shelf right behind me, i have seen every film at least like 4 times each except freddy's dead cause its awful, i personally didnt really get scared by the remake, cause no film really scares me, the new freddy creeped me out and scared my girlfriend throughout the whole movie

  • @Tyler153682 Your age makes a difference because you weren't around when the original came out. Therefore, you didn't get the impact from it that those of us who were there when it was fresh and had just came out did. Had you been pre-teen when that film came out, it would have scared you. It did an entire nation. I'm not dogging you, but by saying "how does that make a difference" shows the difference.

  • @nWo24life But don't you see that as being somewhat hypocritical? If you were my age you would be saying the same thing as me aswell, the fact is that this is based on opinion, i can't change yours and you can't change mine, im not some troll coming on here trying to piss off fanboys or anything, i really think the remake is better, and hoesntly im not spending my day disscussing which is better cause its opinion.

  • @Tyler153682 Your exactly right about the opinion thing. However, when I was a kid and they remade Dracula with Gary Oldman and I felt it was better than the Bela Lugosi one...I acknowledged the fact that I wasn't around for Lugosi's version and had no idea what it was like for that character to be NEW and FRESH. That's the difference. You are missing what I'm trying to say by that. Once again, I'm NOT bashing you.

  • @nWo24life 2/2 though i think the kills could have been done better and some of the dreams could have been more artistic and imaginative, i think when comparing this to the original this version wins. And btw even though there were alot of jump scares i can give the movie credit for not making it obvious how they would happen and when they would happen, they built you up to it then it happens when you don't entirely expect it, but that might be different for you.

  • @Tyler153682 The first film's kills had much more of a pyschological vibe going on. This film had none of that. The original's kids didn't really know if Freddy was real or not until he killed Tina. In this one, they are already aware that "If I sleep, I die." There was no tension, no build-up, nothing. As for the jump scares, you really couldn't tell when one was coming? Honestly?

  • @nWo24life I'm just gonna jump into your conversation here because I have been reading it, the whole fact that in the new movie he was a child molester, and called Nancy his " number 1", and put her in his "favorite dress" made it a whole hell of a lot creepier than the original, but I thought the original was good too, but scary? To me no

  • @Tyler153682 BTW- You really think Haley was scarier then Englund was in the original film? You are the first person I've heard say that. Even people who liked the new film and are defending it that I've talked to, didn't find him even AS scary. The voice, the make-up, he just didn't live up to what was already a perfect monster. People keep throwing the less scary sequels in, but if this character wasn't scary to begin with....there would have never been a remake.

  • @JohnnyWadd86 Freddy is supposed to be an ageless demon. The man is 61 years old; Its just not the same.Could you imagine the new Star Trek movie if leonard Nimoy or William Shatner were still Spock and Kirk? And at the very least they cast someone good like Jackie Earl Haley

  • Im excited for this movie it may not be as good as the original and it might be alot better we wont know until April.

  • of course this movie will never be as good as the original

  • I wouldn't be so sure about that, this film has more resources then the original had and Is using a different idea that I think works better then just some guy killing people in their dreams like in the original film.

  • impossible,. for this film to have more resources, wes craven and robert shaye were the creators of this story, retard

these guys are just copying them, they are wannabees

and the new nancy could never compare to the old nancy, no wayyyyyy not in a million years,

and the new freddy will never be as animated or creative as old freddy,

    two thumbs down!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Glad to see your such a closeminded asshole,If you don't think the movie will be good don't watch it and don't come on here calling me retarded for thinking the remake has potential to be way better then the original.

  • for you think you can even compare the original to this new diarreah, makes you the asshole,

just look at jason and halloween, they both sucked, and the same lame ass producers are making the new freddy, they dont care about making a good movie,

they just care about making money,,

    mark my words!!!

  • To Stefanybody's ranting;

Halloween sucked,And was not made by the same people, rob zombie bud.

Friday on the other hand, wasnt a GREAT movie,it was decent movie. They didnt kill friday atleast.

So what im saying is give these guys a chance, you never know,3rd times the charm.(they did texaschainsaw too.)

  • im always up for giving chances, but just listen to these douchebags, there just in it for the money,

they dont care about making a great movie,

and no one can ever replace the original,

nightmare on elm street has already been done,

remakes are always stupid, and never as good

they have way too much to live up too,

this guy anwering questions sounds like such a cocky asshole, he knows he sucks thats why hes all offended, wen audience asks questions

  • I disagree with your statement 100% sometimes remakes are better sometimes they aren't.

IDK If the remake will be better then the Original but they do have the tools to make It better.

  • if u wanna bet money that it will not be as good,

u can give me your email, im that sure of it!!!

  • IDK why you are trolling like this... Well I hope your trolling because no matter how you look at It wether or not the remake Is better Is based solely on opinion not fact.

  • @Tyler153682 They had the tools, and the STILL did a half-assed job. This movie wasn't even as good as the first on any level...let alone better. The ONLY reason (other than money) to remake something is if you think you can do it better. With that said, these guys failed. BUT, they weren't trying to make it better, just squeeze some money out of it.

  • Nothing can live up to a legendary movie.

But that doesnt mean it will be a bad one.

movies do really bad due to hype.

  • to stefagbody:

You'll hate this movie if you watch it with a narrow mind. And if you just keep on comparing it to the original then you'll really hate the remake. I understand what you mean when you mentioned the producers of this film. Im not too happy bout that either, but hey that's life.

I think if you're a TRUE fan of the N.O.E.S series like I am, then you are really looking foward to seeing this. So quit being such a whiny pussy about it. I know it'll be 10x better than freddy vs jason.

  • When freddy got "animated" (and by that i'm assuming you're referring to his one liners he developed in nightmare 3 and carried on till F vs J) that's when he started to lose his scare appeal. look at the first two nightmare movies, freddy is serious, dark, and scary.

Now with this remake they wanna make freddy more serious, I'm all for that, and just based on that fact i know that this remake has a lot of potential.

you're a fucken shithead. straight out. try being more open minded pussy..

  • Did you see 2? it was the worst in the series. It ended on a love conquers all note and then went back on it with a cliff hanger that made no sense, granted neither do any of the nightmare cliffhangers. And also I would say its not necessarily a lack of open mindedness for all of the bad hype but more of the history of these michael bay remakes thusfar.

  • That's all a matter of opinion, not fact. I'm a fan of the whole series and I actually really like the second one. Sure it was different from the first, but if it was the same movie it would've been straight out boring.

I totally understand what you mean with the whole michael bay thing, his remakes have been very shitty, but as a fan of freddy i have my hopes that this movie won't be as bad as friday the 13th remake.

I don't buy into neither the good or bad hype. that only ruins the movie

  • I'm glad we can agree on the remakes. In terms of #2 the ending just ruined the whole movie for me. I understand that they were trying to make it a little different but I think there are better ways of accomplishing that. I'll say i'm cautiously optimistic. At least they got a good actor for freddy eh?

  • friday the 13th wasn't bad it wasn't even a remake.

  • yeah but most people forget most aren't remakes texas chainsaw yeah amtny was kinda a sequel and friday the 13th was a reboot.

  • @bartman30012 Those are all remakes. A reboot is still a remake and Amityville horror was indisputably a remake.

  • actually no amityville followed as a sequel in the ebginning it even shows the guy kill his family it's a sequel.A reboot isn't a remake which is why they have different defenetions rboot is a movie or story that changes characters plot points or ignore ssome canon which is what the new friday the 13th did it ignored everything after the first movie.Texas as i said was the only remake.

  • The problem here is you havn't seen the original amityville horror. The family lives at the end of the original. In both they show the former home owner killing his family. Reboot is a specific type of movie. While it is true that they are not always remakes they are however a reimagining of a series in order to perpetuate it. Friday the 13th was both. It condensed the first three movies and stripped away everything else. Thats what remakes do. If its a carbon copy whats the point of making it?

  • no worng again i have seen the orginal but i just found the new one a sequel slash reboot as it seemed to take place after the event's.Remakes actually don't that your wrong the new one didn't condense them what it did was it took on soom homages but overall it ignored the movies after the first one look at the fucking movie! it ignores the other films.

  • @slapster789

What's wrong with self-parody horror like Bride of Chucky, Gremlins 2 or Scream?

  • Seriously... are you REALLY saying that the original Friday the 13th was a great film? I watched it and just laughed a lot.

  • Jackie is just amazing what nice guy and his acting is so great the only reason I kinda like Watchmen was because of him he made whole film I wish Watchemen was just about his character because was so good. Im glad got job as Freddy he amazing actor all always respect him and from now all always see his new Freddy movies.

  • this is the 4th fucking panel meeting where the hell is the trailer

  • tyx 4 the quiestionssss dude

  • im gonna be seeing every horror movie that comes out from now on...in hopes that te teaser will be there!

  • The producer said there was currently no plans to release the teaser on the internet. That really sucks.

  • well the producer is a dick then. show all the people and press at comic con but not us ASSHOLE. not everyone lives in california.......i heard the audio for the trailer though....which is why im pissed cause it sounds like a bangin asss trailer

  • They did same thing with Freddy Vs Jason they showed at Comic Con then had to wait till showed on MTV which pissed me off.

  • Really?! what video then dude cause I want to hear it but maybe not cause I'll be begging for more.

  • Actually.. the producer has absolutely NO control over it. It's a decision by New Line Cinema. Brad wanted it to be released and even asked for it to be released but the studio declined.

  • Dang I really wanna see the trailer

  • Thanks man your good at doing this stuff

  • Thx for post cnt wait for the teaser!
