i haven't noticed anything affected. You can get drivers via Wine for your hardware. I haven't tested any of latest games unfortunately so I'm not entirely sure. I'll get back to you when I test Metro 2033 and Napoleon: Total War. I should be doing this later today. That way I can be sure it works fully.

@9322002898 Yup. Not only yeah but hell yeah. I still run a laptop I bought in 2000 for work. It can be a great way to extend the life of a computer. However it does come with it's challenges with Linux. But if your limited to word processing and web based applications. Then you could get by with Linux rather well.

How is it legal to install applications from microsoft that explicitly say in the eulas that you may not use this unless you own windows , and some actually specify you cant install them on anything else than windows , and guess what .. games do not work without direct x / microsoft framework, internet explorer.

@DaedricLavaWhiskey Wine's not that kind of emulator.When users think of emulators, they think of programs like Dosbox or zsnes. These applications run as virtual machines and are slow, having to emulate each processor instruction. Wine does not do any CPU emulation

@halo3masterable theres plently of info out there. look at wineHQ.org to see what works under wine. i suggest go to ubuntus software manager app (i cnt remember the name of it) and install nexuiz. its awesome and free but its not for noobs

@aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa78815 I think there have been a couple Apple consoles in the past. They sucked. If there was an Apple console nowadays to compete with the current consoles, it would be cheaper than a Mac but expensive for a console. They would have to make it cheap and it wouldn't be good that way.
