Vestal is truly proof that God does send angels to guide us and comfort us on Earth. The spirit of the Lord eminates from her so clearly through her presence and her voice. Thank you Lord for blessing on us on Earth with people like Vestal. I can't wait to meet her in our Heavenly home. :)

The song, Born to Serve the Lord, sung by Vestal, blessed my socks off for an entire summer, back a few years ago. It really drove it home to me, that I was, indeed.....born for that and nothing else above it. Another song Vestal did, "Too Near Home With My Lord", with the lyrics, "you've missed me, haven't you Lord?" did the same thing and resonated in my spirit that I WAS with the Lord before this life. Amazing!! I will always feel love for this wonderful woman of God!

@kd5hms63 I was blessed as a child nearly 50 years ago to meet The Happy Goodman Family, at a singing in Kentucky. My grandparents had a gospel quartet when I was growing up, and I couldn't wait for the weekends to get on that bus an go with them! What a gift to all of the world was the entire family!!

I got to go back stage and Meet Vestal, Howard and Jake Hess at the Mabee Center in Tulsa, Ok She was a sweet Lady and Gladly signed her cookbook that we bought. She was very genuine and friendly. We lost some great talent's when those 3 passed.
What a memory. She is a part of me that will never pass. What an impact this person had on the lives of others. I was blessed to hear her. The one and only.
She was a special soul. many of our great gospel singers are going on home to get their just reward. I praise God for the gift He give her to share with the world.
My mother's Sunday B'fast cooking anthem was Jubilee on the "Gospel Jubilee Show" (she'd crank up the volume as it came on letting everybody know it was time to wash up) and one of my fondest memories was "the lady with hair taller than she is" with a voice that could call the angels. The world has gained so much from her touch and lost more with her passing. God Bless you Vestal for touching a nine year old kid so deeply that at 54 he still cries at the loss of one he never met.

How I miss Vestal and Howard. Back in 1981 I was attendng Central Bible College in Springfield, MO. I had thought God had called me into the ministry. Howard and Vestal were in concert at the church I was attending. She pointed at me and said " you have a pinched nerve in your neck, if you will come down, God will heal you." I went down, and she barely touched my forehead when I was slain in the spirit. When I got up my neck was completely healed. ( I am now retired. I was a Nurse for 24 years.)
Vesta has been such a blessing to my life all through my journey as a Christian I have loved her music and ministry for many years I had the honor to meet her and Howard when I was attending Bible College although I was not able to continue my studies due to the lack of funds they were so encouraging to say God still had a plan for my life not to give up thank you Vesta and Howard I am still walking this journey and now singing in my church I miss you and look for when I enter heavens gates''
I cant even begin to tell you how much i miss vestal, but i do know where she is and i am at peace knowing she is even happier. Her heart shows in every song she ever sang. I miss you Vestal. and thank you for all of the souls you led to Jesus. God Bless You 40th for sharing her songs.

@Bigturf72 Same here, she was so respected and adored in many musical genres. The greatest female singer ever in my world. God gave her that powerful voice, and you could tell it was from him every time she delivered a performance. And, she did it all for his glory, and him alone. She always said that when we saw her sing, she wanted us to know who she's been with. And now, she is with the one she so truly loves.

I grew up listening to Howard (Happy) and Vestal Goodman. Was always great to see them before going to church on Sunday Morning.
